Chapter 5: Moving on and moving forward
Marcus and Katie walked down the Hogsmeade High Street in a companionable silence. The crisp spring day was rapidly fading. Marcus looked at Katie’s open face with inward sigh of contentment.
“It was surprisingly nice to see your friends like that,” said Katie.
“Like what love?” asked a surprised Marcus.
“So……friendly, said Katie after a long pause.
“They are always friendly,” said us. us.
Katie raised her eyebrow at Marcus and said nothing.
“It’s your friends that hate me,” said Marcus disgruntled. “At least my friends haanneanners.”
“What are you on about,” said Katie with a frown. “My friends are nice to you.”
“The Weasleys and Jordan thought I was just shagging you for fun,” pointed out Marcus. “I doubt that they realize that that we haverealreal.”
“Angie and Ally like you,” said Katie protestingly.
“You have never invited them out with us except for a quick drink,” pointed out Marcus.
“Then I will,” said Katie as she raised her chin. “Besides they are awfully friendly with your room mates.”
“Terry told me he saw George Weasley and Spinnet headed for the back room at Madame Puddifoot’s,” said Marcus with a snort. “You know what that means.”
“No,” said Katie with a frown. “I do not.”
“Oh please,” said Marcus. “Everyone at Hogwarts has either been to the front room or the back one.”
Katie stiffened then moved away from Marcus. He lengthened his stride to catch up with her. Katie walked on determinedly. He looked at Katie uncertainly.
“What’s wrong,” asked Marcus.
“Nothing,” said Katie through gritted teeth. “I want to go back to Hogwarts.”
“Okay,” said Marcus as he blinked at her. He tried again to catch up to Katie. She had sprinted away from him. He caught at her arm.
“What is it Katie,” asked Marcus. “What did I do.”
“Nothing,” snapped Katie as she pulled away. She walked for a few moments in silence then stopped and turned to glare at Marcus.
“What do you mean everyone at Hogwarts has been to Madame Puddifoot’s?” asked Katie. “Have you?”
“Yes,” said Marcus uncertainly.
“I suppose you took Persephone Stebbins there,” said Katie as she turned to stalk away again.
Marcus caught up to her quickly and tried to keep pace. He could almost hear her blood pressure rising. He cleared his throat.
“What?” sna Kat Katie.
“I did take her there,” said Marcus. “But it was a lark. I heard so much about it. You know what I mean.”
“No I don’t,” said Katie through gritted teeth. She turned away from Marcus.
“You mean you’ve never been there?” asked Marcus curiously.
“No,” snapped Katie.
“Good,” said Marcus with relief. He nearly knocked Katie over because she had stopped suddenly in the middle of the street and gave him an incredulous glare.
“Sometimes Marcus, you can ery ery uncharitable,” said Katie stiffly. Tears started to appear in her eyes.
“What is it?” asked Marcus with confusion.
“No one has ever asked me to go there,” said Katie stiffly.
“Thank Merlin,” said Marcus. He jumped when Katie punched his arm in vexation and whirled away.
“Why did you hit me,” asked an obous ous Marcus.
“The fact that I have never gone to Madame Puddifoot’s because no boy at Hogwarts thought I was fanciable enough to take to such a romantic place is no reason why you should make fun of me,” shouted Katie.
“Romantic place?” asked Marcus with a frown. A look of comprehension flooded his face. “Oh, you mean the front room. I’ll take you there now if you want, love.”
“No,” snapped Katie. “I don’t need your charity.”
“Katie,” said Marcus coaxingly as he pulled her stiff body against him. “I thought you meant the back room. I was bloody glad no bloke had asked you to go there.”
“The back room,” asked Katie a trifle stiffly. Marcus was soothingly stroking her back.
“Puddifoot rents out rooms in the back by the hour,” said Marcus with surprise. “The rooms range from simple beds to full blown fantasies depending on the amount of galleons you want to spend.”
“You mean they rent out rooms for-,” asked a surprised Katie.
“Fucking,” said Marcus with a snort.
“Oh,” said Katie. She looked at Marcus uncertainly.
“Do you want to go for a cup of coffee love,” asked Marcus a trifle uncertainly.
“I’ve never gone,” said Katie softly.
“Woody is an even dafter prick then I thought,” said Marcus as he steered her towards the coffee shop. “I never thought you would want to come here. I should have asked.”
“I should have told you,” said Katie shyly.
“Katie,” said Marcus as he ushered her into the little shop. “I find you utterly delicious. If you want to drink overpriced coffee and kiss, I’ll be happy to.”
“Okay,” said Katie happily.
A shocked silence fell over the coffee shop as Marcus settled Katie into one of the delicate chairs. He sat down gingerly and ordered two cups of coffee. He gave the staring students a patented glare. Every single couple looked away in discomfort. Katie giggled.
“Stop glaring Marcus,” said Katie chidingly as she took his large callused hand in her own. “It’s not romantic.”
Marcus smiled into Katie’s face. Her eyes were still a little red but she looked radiant. He leaned in and gave her a soft kiss. Katie’s eyes fluttered closed. Marcus kissed the edge of her mouth then dipped to kiss her throat as Katie arched her neck. Their untouched cups cooled in front of them as they exchanged kiss after kiss, utterly oblivious to the stares and incredulous looks they were getting. An hour later, Marcus paid their bill and they left the coffeehouse.
“Hello Katie,” said a voice just after they left the shop. “And Flint.”
“Hello Cedric,” said Katie shyly as she felt Marcus stiffen beside her. Marcus only nodded at Diggory curtly as they passed.
“Don’t be rude Marcus,” chided Katie. “He was being polite. Most people just gawk at us when they see us on the et.”et.”
“I don’t like him,” snapped Marcus.
“Diggory is a good Quidditch player,” said Katie with a sidelong glance at Marcus’s set face.
“He’s a pretty boy,” dismissed Marcus.
“It was only the once,” said Katie softly. “We were both a little pissed and we vowed never to repeat it. Besides Marcus, you are the only man I love.”
“I know,” said Marcus e une unthawed a little. “I just don’t like him.”
“You are better in bed than he is,” said Katie teasingly.
“I know,” said Marcus smugly.
“You are incorrigible,” said Katie with a small laugh.
Madame Puddifoot’s Back Room:
Alicia stared at the wall hangings as she listened to George sleep. She turned to look at him with new eyes. Over the years, George and Fred had been her mates. Now, he was her lover. Ally wasn’t sure that this is what she wanted. Granted George would make a better boyfriend than Tece Hce Higgs. He would certainly be more faithful.
“But George does not make you feel the same way as Terry does,” said an insidious voice inside her head. “He makes your heart flutter and can get you screaming with rage in under a minute then moaning with pleasure two seconds later.”
Alicia thought back to how reverently George had touched her. He had made love to her with a terrifying single mindedness. There had been no time to protest or back away. He had carried her along with him on a tide of passion. She touched his sleeping face tenderly. She did not want to hurt him. He had told her that seeing her with Higgs had nearly killed him. George had told her that he loved her. He would never leave her dangling. Maybe it was time to grow up and forget about Terrence Higgs, his sulky kissable mouth, his bluer than blue eyes and his insistent hands. Maybe it was time to forget about an impossible love and move on to an attainable dependable man.
“Maybe,” whispered Alicia as she looked up into the hangings and lost herself in her own thoughts.
The Slytherin Common Room: Sunday Night:
“Stop it,” hissed Daria Greengrass as she stopped Terry’s hand from drifting under her skirt, yet again.
“Daria,” said Terry in her ear. “May I remind someone that she spent the other night moaning my name? Why are you suddenly getting a little prudish?”
“I don’t want you to treat me like all those other girls,” said Dars shs she pulled out of his embrace. They were in the nearly deserted Slytherin common room.
“What do you mean,” asked Terry quizzically.
“You are a serial shagger Terry,” said Daria as she straightened her skirt and slapped at Terry’s encroaching hand. “You shag a girl then you don’t talk to her again. You are absolutely famous for it. Adrian, on the other hand, stays friendly with his shags. Marcus, before Bell, had his witches trailing after him hopefully for weeks. But his attention had to be gained. You should have seen the things Billy used to wear to get his interest.”
“Whatever,” snorted Terry. “Marcus just has a thing for lingerie. His father got a little cross with him and the amount he was being billed from the Witches Wardrobe for unmentionables for Bell. I believe he was exceeding his allowance. Sil exp expensive. Besides, you haven’t even kissed me since that night.”
“I know,” said Daria pensively. “I want you to like me.”
“I do like you,” said Terry protestingly.
“Then get to know me,” challenged Daria.
“Okay,” said Terry with a sigh. He looked at the little dark haired witch with surprise and speculation. This girl had depth to her.
His mind flashed quickly to Alicia Spinnet. He forced it to turn away. Adrian told him that Angie had confirmed that Ally was dating George Weasley now. It was time for him to move on. He looked at Daria’s pretty face and smiled at her.
The Hogwarts Dungeons:
Alec waited a few minutes after Penelope Clearwater left to leave the room. He applied a refreshing spell and straightened his robes. He gave a lazy smile as he contemplated an old maxim- revenge is a dish best served cold. Percy Weasley had no idea what a wildcat his girlfriend was.
Alec quickly walked towards the kitchens. He was starving. He was debating the merits of roast beef versus chicken when he collided with an errant Hufflepuff. He reached down to help the Hufflepuff up then froze. His throat closed and he could not say a word.
“Hello Alec,” said Eleanora Cauldwell. The tall blond girl gave Alec a cool smile and got to her feet gracefully.
“Hello Nora,” said Alec. He could feel his face flush. This was the girl he had been madly in love with for three years. The girl he could not marry. He stood in front of her frozen with what could have been.
“I was going to send you an owl later,” said Eleanora with a measured look at the Slytherin prefect.
“About what?” asked Alec. He had broken up with her four months before. The day after he found out he was engaged to marry a Durmstrang witch.
“I am marrying Richard Granville this summer,” said Eleanora coolly. “I decided it was only right that you should know.”
“My felicitations,” said Alec stiffly. “He’s older than you.”
“Yes,” said Nora as she moved away from Alec. “He’s a strong older wizard. Eight years is not that much of a difference. And my bloodline doesn’t matter to him or his family. I found a man worthy of me.”
Alec watched her retreat with a sad look in his eyes. He turned for the Slytherin dungeons. He was no longer hungry.
The Slytherin Dungeons:
Katie squeezed her powerful legs tight around Marcus’s waist as he groaned below her. She ran a hand down his tight abdomen with a sultry look in her eyes. She wriggled against his straining eron eon enticingly.
“Tell me,” coaxed Katie as she ran a finger around his distended nipple.
“Put me inside of you,” said Marcus throatily as he bucked up at her.
Katie reared up and slid her wet cleft teasingly over the head of his penis then pulled him flat against her soft belly with a soft laugh.
“Tell me,” said Katie. She rubbed at his shaft teasingly.
“I can’t,” said Marcus with a groan. “You’ll be mad.”
“You won’t be sorry,” said Katie as she pumped him lightly.
“I had an owl,” said Marcus with a pleading look. Katie grasped his shaft and pulled him into her softness. She ran his head around her soft wet folds.
“What kind of letter,” asked Katie with heavy lidded eyes.
“An offer from the Falmouth Falcons,” said Marcus as he gave a high cry of pleasure as Katie shifted then impaled herself on his hot erection.
“Why did you tell Adrian to keep it a secret,” asked Katie as she arched her back.
“It wasn’t a secret,” said Marcus a trifle sulkily. “You were in the next room. Merlin, you have the ears of a bat.”
“It’s wonderful news Marcus,” said Katie as she slid herself slowly up then down his distended shaft.
“I can’t take it love,” said Marcus regretfully as he palmed her breasts with greedy hands.
“You want to,” said Katie perceptively. She wriggled around on his cock with a slow moan of pleasure.
“Oh yes,” groaned Marcus. “But my father would never permit it.”
“Do what your heart tells you Marcus,” said Katie as she moved on top of him.
“I’ll have to maneuver the old man around,” said Marcus with a crafty look. “You could do your part.”
“What can I do,” asked Katie as she licked her lips.
“Keep that baby safe,” said Marcus as his hand slid down to touch her belly. Then it kept moving and slid into her curls and touched her clitoris. “Katie, come for me.”
Katie gasped then gave a long moan as his clever fingers rubbed and petted her until she came. She arched her back and squeezed at his shaft as he spurted deep inside her a moment later.
“No more trying to keep me sheltered Marcus,” said Katie as she rested her head on his heaving chest.
“Agreed,” said Marcus as he struggled to catch his breath.
“We are partners,” said Katie softly.
“Yes,” said Marcus. “I will never try to keep something from you again. Merlin, I thought you were going to yell at me. I was shocked when you threw me on the bed, love”
“My sister-in-law told me once that if you want to get a man to remember something important,” said Katie with a smile. “Use positive reinforcement. You will never forget this lesson, will you Marcus.”
“Did she mean this kind of reinforcement,” asked Marcus with a snort.
“Isabelle told me it works well when you use your tongue and give little licks under the shaft,” said Katie as she leaned up and looked into Marcus’s shocked eyes. “Merlin Marcus, she’s French. She said it’s not like she uses sex as a bargaining tool or a weapon, just as a positive reinforcement of her goals.”
“Merlin.”
“Isabelle told me lots of things after she found out about our engagement,” said Katie with a smile. “Marcus, you are going to enjoy her engagement gift, let me tell you.”
“Stockings?”
“Better than stockings.”
“Tell me.”
“Let me show you Tiger.”
“Oh kitten.”
