Chapter 5

Chapter 5

It didn’t take long to move her stuff from the receiving yard to the Gryffindor Common Room. Later she found out that she would be moving into Remus’ room.
“Oh…I don’t mean to impose. I’m sorry.” She had told Remus, but Remus had only told her not to worry about it.
So Remus moved back into the dormitory with the boys, anra mra moved into to Prefects room. It didn’t take long for Sara to unpack.
Her room was extravagantly decorated; a large four-poster bed stood against the wall, surrounded by rich, red velvet drapes, that pooled at the floor. Her dresser was made of dark wood, and was against the other wall. Her room also had a window, which she was glad of. She does enjoy a room with a view.
She was told that most of the time they could be found in the Common Room, which was where she hea headed. She walked slowly down the staircase, trailing her hand delicately down the hand- rail, coming to a stop when the stone archway leading to the common room came into the view. She let out a wavering sigh, before pressing onwards through the archway.
She was unnoticed due to the fact that James and Sirius had divulged themselves in a game of chess. Remus and Peter sat on the couch, unaware of anything that was going on except for the chess of game.
She crossed both armrossross the back of the large red sofa, and leaned forward. She smiled at the occasional swear word that was exchanged between James and Sirius, all in good sport of course.
“Damn you…bastard.” Sirius would joke.
“You’re just a jealous bastard.” James would reply.
“Oh yeah well take this James Potter…you ass…”
Remus caught site of her then, when she reached up to contain her fit of laughter with the back of her hand.
“Go to hell Sirius…” James yelled.
“o Sao Sara…” Remus nearly yelled with wide eyes, as he tilted his head slightly in the direction of where Sara stood.
Sirius dropped the chess piece he had picked up from the floor, when he realized that she was there. She was giggling wildly. Covering her mouth with both hands.
“You’re a riot. Oh please don’t stop on account of me,” she said, her voice muffled by her hands.
“Um…Okay…we didn’t mean to curse so much…” James tried to explain.
“Oh no…don’t worry about it. My father used to play chess with my grandfather. I assume it’s a male bonding thing to insult your opponent.” She said, taking a seat next to Remus on the couch. She tucked her legs underneath her to where she was perched on her calves. She then placed both hands beside her legs to steady herself as she leaned forward to get a better look at what they were doing.
“Please continue,” she offered with a bob of her head.
It didn’t take long for the game to resume. And continue it did, so long that they missed lunch. They decided to end the game on a draw.
When they left the common room it was nearly time for dinner.
“Come on guys. It’s dinner-time.” Remus began as he lead the way out of the common room, “Sara, you’ve never tasted anything like Hogwart’s food. It’s to die for.”
“Well I’m not really that hungry, so I’ll take your word for it.” She replied, ignoring the astonished looks she was given.
“Well…o-okay, but you don’t know what you’re missing.” Remus said, as he led the rest of them into the great hall.
Sara stopped as soon as she entered the hall. The ceiling was painted to match to the night sky, but at a closer glance she realized it wasn’t painted it was bewitched to match the night sky. It was breathtakingly beautiful.
“Would you mind moving out of the way?” a voice said with a snarl.
Sara turned to meet a pair of cold, gray eyes.
“No I wouldn’t mind moving out of the way. But I won’t, until you ask nicely.” She retorted folding her arms across her chest. She shifted her weight to one foot, and tapped the other determined “I “I won’t give you the benefit of hearing me ask you nicely. I’ll just move you myself.” The voice said, as a pair of hands went to Sara’s hips and lifted her up and out of the way with ease. The look of astonishment spread throughout her features; as she watched the boy, no man, stalk away victoriously.
“Well I never…” she huffed and stalked away to join her new friends.
“What’s wrong?” Sirius asked as he scoot over a little to offer her some more room.
“Nothing. Just some guy…never mind. Don’t worry about it.” She answered while she shoveled food onto her plate.
“Which guy was it?” Remus asked.
She pointed in diredirection of the guy. They all looked to see whom she was pointing too, then their gaze settled upon one Lucius Malfoy, who was flanked by Serverus Snape. She noticed that they were staring at her, and not in the friendly way.
“Damn bastard…”Sirius snarled, as he wrinkled his nose in disgust, “That’s Lucius Malfoy, and that’s…” Sirius pointed to the mittiitting next to Malfoy,’ that’s Serverus Snape…”
“Yeah but James and Sirius are keen on calling him Snivellous.” Remus interrupted, quirking a brow towards Sirius.
“Okay…okay, so I’m not the nicest person in the world towards them…” Sirius began tilting his head in the direction of where his arch nemeses sat.
“Not the nicest person…Damn it Sirius you liar. You’d rather watch them die than be nice to them.” Remus snapped.
“Why? What did they do to you?” Sara asked, holding her goblet of pumpkin juice just to her lips, before taking a drink.
Sirius shook his head, before forking out more food into his mouth.
“Sirius and Lucius used to be best friends…”Remus began, but James finished for him.
“Yeah…but then he didn’t get into Slytherin house so, Lucius’ father didn’t want him hanging out with Sirius because of it. So when he started hanging out with us, it didn’t set well with Lucius to be replaced by a few Gryffindors.”
“So you just decided to be an ass to them, because they were an ass to you?” Sara questioned harshly.
“Well…yeah. Just because I didn’t get into Slytherin like he did, isn’t an excuse to alienate me.” Sirius snapped, sensing that that was the wrong approach.
“Well no it isn’t, but look I’m on your side, so would you mind not snapping at me. I’m not an enemy. Not yet, but with that attitude I will be fast to turn you into my enemy.” She threatened, before standing up and walking ou the the great hall.
Sirius watched her leave, eyes wide, shaking his head in disbelief.
“Well that went well…” Remus muttered, biting back laughter, at the site of Sirius’ face.
“Don’t get to happy…it’s not over.” Sirius muttered, as he stood up.
Remus and James followed his gaze until their own settled on Lucius and Serverus walking in determined strides from the great hall.
“Oh…great.” James spathe fhe followed Sirius, Remus following in their wake.
Sara had just made it to the top of the first flight of stairs, when Lucius and Serverus had entered the entrance hallway.
“Excuse me…” came a voice, making Sara turn to see whom its creator was.
Her eyes narrowed when she saw the two men walking up to meet her. Her first instinct was to run, or scream, but she didn’t she stood her ground, and whatever happened, happened.
“What?” she said, with surprising calmness, despite the war that was raging inside her mind.
“Nothing…we just wanted to apologize for being rude earlier. I’m terribly sorry. If I had known that you were friends with Sirius and that sort” Lucius said with a hint of disgust trapped in his voice, “Then I would have been even ruder to you, and asked you back to my room for a blow job, or lap dance.”
Her arms that were crossed across her chest, dropped to her side, her small hands balling into even smaller fists. With her eyes narrowed, she fought the urge to punch, to lash out, or even to scream at him.
“Well you would have been wasting your breath, which you obviously need to inflate that terrible ego of yours. If you’ll excuse me, I’m going to my room.”
She thought she had won, had gotten the last laugh some how, but she didn’t. Lucius had somehow beaten her to the first step of the next flight of stairs. She stopped dead in her tracks at the site of him.
He was handsome, and tall. God was he tall. With long blonde hair, that had so much gel in it, it didn’t move. His eyes were cold and gray, as they stared down at her. She didn’t quite understand his intentions, until a hand grasped her firmly by her upper arm, and half-pulled and half-lead her up the stairs away from the Gryffindor tower.
“Stop! Where are you taking me?” She screamed trying hard to pull from his grasp that was now biting into her arm so bad she knew she would have bruises.
“Oh, you know if you scream, I’m just going to enjoy this much more.” He snapped pushing her into a wall. The force in which she hit the wall was enough to knock the breath out of her. Her knees almost buckled, but he caught her around the waist, and pulled her up to where her feet were dangling a few inches off the ground. He pushed his chest to hers to where she could feel his breath against her neck.
“Big mistake…” she muttered.
She elevated a knee up hard against his groin, sending him stumbling backwards a few steps. She balled a single fist, and brought it hard against his face, causing him to spit blood as his head whipped to the side from the force of the blow.
His head snapped back, with his eyes fixed determinedly on her. She should have run for it then, but she didn’t. She stood there, waiting. She was a big girl and she could take care of herself, although most of this, wasn’t sitting well with her. Her first day here and she had made friends, gotten yelled at by her new friends, and was now getting attacked. What else could go wrong?
She should have been paying attention, but Lucius was on her like a hunter going in for the kill. She tried to move from him, but his hold on her was quick and powerful. She was weak against him. She almost gave up.
“Put her down now Malfoy!” Sirius yelled.
She saw him walking, almost jogging up to them, eyes narrowed, and flanked by James and Remus. She could see Peter was little more timid in their attack, but he hurried along in their wake.
Lucius turned his head to meet Sirius’ gaze.
“What did you say Black?” he snarled.
“You heard me Malfoy. Put her down, now!” Sirius warned moving closer to him. James and Remus had stopped only a few steps behind where he once stood. Both of them taking hold of Serverus, each grabbing an arm.
“Oh what are you going to do? Are you going to get daddy on me? Is that it?” Lucius asked as his hold on Sara tightened in anger.
“No, unlike you, I can handle my own shit!” Sirius snarled, his eyes searching up and down Lucius, and then Sara.
“I said let her go now, Lucius!” he warned again, flexing a brow at him.
He didn’t wait long, before he lunged. His hands grasping a handful of blonde hair, he pulled hard, causing Lucius’ head to snap back, and cry out in pain. Lucius clenched his teeth, and tightened his grip around Sara, causing her to gasp in pain. She caught the fierceness in both men’s eyes. She felt a sudden dizziness in her head. She was having a hard time breathing, due to Lucius’ hold on her.
“Are you ready to let her go now, or do you need further persuasion?” Sirius asked roughly, as his other arm went around Lucius’ neck, causing those cold gray eyes to bulge, and the pale skin to redden as the oxygen was suddenly cut off from his head.
“Now. You have two choices. You either let her go willingly, or I put you in a coma, and I can take her without your consent. The choice is yours.” Sirius spoke slowly so that Lucius caught every word.
“Okay fine…I don’t want her anyway. She’s not willing enough for me, and I’m feeling lazy tonight, I’m not up for the fight.” Lucius said with a snarl, before his arms left Sara. Her knees buckled underneath her weight and she fell to the floor, landing soundly on her left hip, knees curled to the side. She struggled in harsh, rigorous coughs to catch her breath. At that Sirius turned Lucius around to face him, grabbing a handful of robes, and hoisted him off the ground to where nothing but the tip of his toes touched the floor. Then pushing him to the wall with bone-breaking force, hopefully, he spoke.
“If you ever come near her again. I’ll kill you. I swear it, I will kill you Lucius Malfoy. Don’t come near her, breath on her, speak to her, or even think about her. You got that?”
He released his hold on him then, and turned his attention back to Sara, who had finally caught her breath. All anger seemed wiped away when he looked down at her. She looked up at him, and realized that both hands were held down to her. She smiled faintly and took his offered help, leaning on him for help as her knees nearly buckled under her weight again. Obviously Lucius didn’t know his own strength, and his hold left her feeling light headed. Sirius drew her close to him, offering his support willingly.
“Thank you.” She whispered, so only he could hear her.
“Are you okay Sara?” James asked, as he and Remus slowly walked up the stairs to meet them.
“Yeah…I’m fine, thank you very much,” she began, “I didn’t mean to be so rude in the great hall. I’m just not used to men and their ways. I guess you were right about those two though. Stupid….” She trailed off, cursing inwardly.
She saw the look of surprise on their faces and suppressed a smile, feeling that now wasn’t the time for humor. She moved herself from Sirius’ grasp slowly, just in case she needed support. .
“Well we’re just glad we got here in time. They could’ve done some serious damage. You being as small as you are and all.” Remus stated firmly, receiving a nod of agreement from both Sirius and James.
“However, that was one hell of a right hook you have there…” Sirius noted, looking down at her now bruised right hand, and frowning. God she was a fragile thing. Her hair he saw was now frizzed, and riled. Her eyes told a completely different story, raw with anger and fury, but also with humor. He couldn’t help but smile, and his smile grew wider when he saw the same expression grace her face as well.
They all breathed a sigh of relief when they reached the common room. Sara and Remus took a seat at the couch, while James and Sirius gave Peter hell for not helping them. Remus shook his, tilting it downward, as he attempted to suppress a chuckle.
As it grew later, Sara grew more anxioShe She didn’t know what her first night sleeping in her new school would bring. She couldn’t stay awake any longer.
“I’m going to bed.” She announced suppressing a yawn with the back of her hand, as she stood. “Thank you again, for all you’ve done today. I really appreciated it. I’ll see you tomorrow. Goodnight, and sweet dreams.” and at that she stood, waving bye to them and walked slowly, very slowly, so as not to become light headed again, up the stairs to her bedroom, silently closing and latching the door behind her.
“She is a cute thing isn’t she?” Sirius questioned as he drew his shirt over his head, and sat down on his bed to remove his shoes and pants.
Remus laughed at that and answered “Yeah she is, and spunky too.” He added.
They all undressed for bed silently, and with nothing else left to be said they climbed beneath their blankets, and slowly drifted off into sleep.
