Chapter 5
Dinner was great; we avoided all the boys and sat at the end of the table towards where the teacher sat.
It was always like that, boys at one end the girls at the other. Probably the best, us girls had more sense. Well normally.
The boys were showing off as per usual, mind you the Slytherin lot started it. Malfoy being the big man he is and picking on Lilly, thing is she can ignore the comments but well Potter. Oh no he can’t leave it so some words were exchanged, really nothing compared to what normally happens.
Potter then approached our end of the table to hit on Lilly, who turned him away straight away. I don’t understand why he tries, she has never been interested. Although I do suspect secretly she enjoys the attention but wouldn’t admit to it.
Well after that display it was good, us girls sat and chatted. After dinner we slowly headed up to the dorm to chat. Normally the conversation revolved around Sirius in bed, James in bed, my brother in bed (I normally went to have a bath at this point; there are some things a sister just doesn’t want to know). Make up, boys, boys and well boys.
I sat with Lilly on the bed while the others chatted we sat brushing each others hair. She had the most beautiful wavy auburn hair. Although I did sometimes think everyone had nicer hair than me.
This was strange, a little surreal. It is a Friday night and no one was holding a party. I guess because the troublemakers are out tonight I thought chuckling to myself.
All the girls got into their beds, I lay there listening to Lilly and Crystal chatting away for about 20 minutes before I realised they had fallen asleep.
I lay tossing and turning, I always had problems with the full moon and getting to sleep. Sometimes I got headaches sometimes I was restless and wanted to go out for a walk. Lucky this time I only wanted to walk and not a headache because the headaches really do hurt.
I decided after about an hour or so to get up and sit at the window for a while, looking out at the full moon. Strange how beautiful it was yet at the same time could bring such danger.
I felt sorry for Remus, not in a bad way just. I could not imagine what he goes through each month. We’ve read about it in class but the pain of the transformation is something that no one can comprehend unless you went through it yourself. I get headaches due to his transformation as well as an aching in my hands as well as on mw buw but for him it must be horrible.
And it’s all my fault.
