Ultimate Betrayal: Chapter 41

Zion & Neville’s Quarters

Zion had yet to tell his mate of the arrival of his grandmother. He felt that a surprise was in order one that would put a true smile on his mates face. He had watched his little one actions as much as he dared without scaring him.
Hoping that with his grandmother’s presence the boy would be more social and open to the turning.

Neville on the other hand was unaware of the thoughts running through the Vampire Lords mind. For he was more worried about his Gran. He knew that the King and Consort had left for France but no word had been sent of their arrival back to Avalon. Having already made up his mind to mate with the Vampire regardless of his Grans thoughts on the matter. But he wanted her here and safe before hand. Also, he wanted to know what was going on in Britain, for her letter had scared him more than he wanted to admit. Especially knowing that she was running from her homeland, there was one thing he knew his Gran not to be. And that was a coward. So for her to run there was more to it than the reasons she stated in her letter. He was about to walk into Zion’s study when a knock on the main door caused him to stop.

Zion heard the knock and quickly vacated his study, making his way to the door just in time to see his future mate walking into the room as well. “My mate the honor is yours.” Zion exclaimed with a small smile as he waved his hand toward the door releasing the wards around it.

Neville’s eyes widened before he nodded and continued toward the door. Once there he opened the door taking a deep breath. To his shock was his Gran standing on the other side. “Gran!”

“Grandson, you’re looking well.” Augusta Longbottom stated as she pulled the young man into her arms. Not caring that he was shaking or his tears were soaking her robes.

As she was still standing in the doorway holding her grandson, she looked up to see who she assumed was the Master Vampire and the one that would turn her Neville. To her he was gorgeous man, with long silver hair and azure eyes. Looking to be around 6’5 or more in height. She could see the longing in his eyes as he looked at her grandson as well as relief. But she wasn’t sure what the man was feeling relief of.

“My Lady,” Zion stated regally as he bowed slightly to her. Before motioning her inside.

“Master Vampire of the Crescent Moon, it is an honor to meet you.” Augusta bowed at the waist after she had moved Neville into one of the chairs.

“The honor is mine, my Lady. Would you care for some refreshment?” Zion asked softly, not wanting to scare the woman. Even though he was sure that, it would take more than his presence to achieve that.

“Yes, that would be delightful.” Augusta remarked with a blank face, still trying to wrap her thoughts around her grandson being the mate of a Master Vampire.

Zion bowed his head before leaving the room. Knowing that the two needed a moment alone, so he headed for the kitchen to retrieve the refreshment himself. He knew it would take him several minutes to gather them without assistance from the house-elves or a servant.

When the man was gone, Augusta turned toward her grandson with a questioned look. Wanting the boy to tell her what was going on and how he came to be in Avalon. She wanted the whole story not just the small bit his letter gave.

“It’s good to see you Gran.” Neville stated with a soft voice before hugging her again.

“You as well Grandson. Now tell me what’s going on? And I mean everything, from the time you left England till now.” Augusta snapped out, not in anger but in worry.

Neville was about to answer when ‘Storm’ flamed into the room, with a letter in his claws. Causing Neville to gasp and his Grandmother to chuckle softly. He’s eyes went wide when ‘Storm’ flew over to his Gran’s lap and began demanding petting.

“You are full of yourself today, aren’t you?” Augusta murmured.

‘Of course not. How could you say such a thing? And before you ask, I’m not turning into my human form. Your grandson does not know that I am also the King Consort.’ Storm trilled in amusement.

Augusta’s eyes widened shocked that ’Storm’ could communicate with someone other than the King. “I see well who is this letter for?”

’Lord Zion, where is fang boy anyway?’

= In the kitchen Consort, and when did I give you permission to call me that name. =

’ Oops I’m in trouble.’ Storm trilling before he flamed out of Augusta’s lap and into the kitchen.

“Gran?” Neville looked at her with confusion and shock.

“Nothing to worry about Neville. I was just a bit shocked that the Ice Phoenix could talk to me. Normally Phoenix can only talk to their bonded.” Augusta explains to him while glancing toward the kitchen door.

“Oh ok then well this is what happened.” Neville began telling his Gran everything that had happened from the time he left England. While his Gran sat quietly beside him holding his hand in hers.

= You were broadcasting little one. And no, you are not in trouble, I keep forgetting what you’re like in phoenix form Consort. = Zion stated with amusement to Storm.

’That’s good to know. Anyway my companion wanted me to give you this.’ Storm trilled in laughter as he lifted his foot containing the letter clutched to his claw.

= Thank you, but why did Wyatt send you instead on just flaming the letter to my study. =

’Something about it was important and needed to be placed directly in your hands.’ Storm trilled out in certainty.

= I see, well I’ll not keep you from you mate. But let him know that I will be unavailable for the day if he intends to interrogate anyone. = Zion stated with a fanged smirked.

Storm just nodded sharply before flaming out.

Zion sighed as he looked down at the letter in his hands. He really wasn’t in the mood for any more drama. But if Wyatt sent Storm then it was of extreme importance that he read it now.

Zion,

I know that you are going to be busy today. Especially with the Lady Longbottom and your future mate so I’ll just get to the point. The Sword of Destruction needs to be completely destroyed as such I want to do so tomorrow.

Today however I will be interrogating the British Auror and maybe the other one, I haven’t decided as of yet. Secretary Jengens will be here to help me in this so don’t worry. I may also have Aiden’s Potion Master involved as well as my brother.

Now on to the importance of this letter, I was informed by Severus that Narcissa Black nee Malfoy, has gone and disappeared on us. And I wanted to know if you could send out some feelers and see if she has left Avalon to go into the Magical part of California or the Muggle one. Just so, you know her son Draco has no knowledge of this and I would like to keep it that way. So would Aiden as well as Severus. Severus informed me of this right after dawn so you can imagine what will happen if that harpies son finds out before we find her whereabouts.

Thanks my friend and have a great day with your future Mother-in-Law.

Wyatt

“SHIT!” Zion snarled as he stormed out of the kitchen toward his study, not even acknowledging the two in the main sitting room. Or the fact that he left the refreshments in the kitchen.

“Well that was unexpected.” Augusta blinked at her grandson as she watched the retreating form of the Master Vampire.

“That letter must have had something extremely important for him to storm out like that. Much less curse, that is the first time I‘ve ever heard him do that. Even when he‘s angry he doesn‘t use such language.” Neville exclaimed to her as he too watched his future mate.

“That’s good to know. Now let’s go into that kitchen and have some tea.” Augusta stated as she moved quickly into the room the Vampire had just vacated in a rush.

Neville gave one last look down the hall before following his Gran into the kitchen. Tea sounded like a good idea to him, and his Gran made the best tea.

Magical California

Narcissa Black nee Malfoy was fuming as she walked down the street toward Gringotts. She was determined to return to Britain, not caring if she was killed in the process. The anger she felt toward that blood-sucker that stole her chosen husband was the reason for this trip. That’s right husband not mate, she knew he was not her mate, for Lucius had killed him during the first war.

Just watching them day after day made her want to pull her hair out. She had chosen Severus to be Lucius’s replacement for several reasons. Severus held more magical power, and seemed to not care about politics. He also was a well-respected Potion’s Master, also having Masteries in Defense Against the Dark Arts and Medi-Wizardry. He had practically raised Draco as his own since birth that was another reason to want him.

Severus wasn’t wealthier than Lucius, but was still ranked 10th in both the Muggle and Magical worlds, and she would have been well taken care off. Now thanks that blood-sucker she couldn’t have him. There was no way she could fight the Vampire and win, at least to her knowledge. For she knew what Clan the bitch came from and was not about to be humiliated by her. And Draco, her own child had turned against her by supported Severus on his choice. That in itself was too much to bare.

Reaching her destination, she walked quickly into the bank and up to one of the Goblins. “I demand to speak to the Goblin Manager Griphook. It shouldn’t take to long for you to get him.”

Goblin Maliki blinked at the Witch for several moments before turning to another goblin snapping out orders. Then he turned back to address Narcissa, “Follow me to the conference room, while we send for Master Griphook.”

Narcissa said nothing just followed quietly behind the goblin. All she wanted to do was leave this forsaken country as quickly as possible. Knowing that if she gave information about the things she found out here in America that her life could be spared. And if not her son would still be taken care of, since he was courting the Prince of Avalon.

“Wait here, Master Griphook will be with you momentarily.” Maliki snarled as he pointed to the chairs in the room before taking his leave.

About thirty minutes later, she saw Griphook walking into the room alone. And as soon as he closed the door, she snapped at the goblin. “I want to return to Britain.”

“Why would you want to return Lady Black? America is the safest place for you at this time.” Griphook remarked with a raised brow.

“Because I don’t want to remain here. And I demand you send me back, I’ll take my chances with my ex-husband.” Narcissa snarled at the goblin in anger.

Griphook blinked, he wasn’t sure if taking her back would be a good thing. But from the look on her face, she would not reconsider. He briefly wondered if the King and Consort had any knowledge of her wish to be removed from Sanctuary. “Have you announced to the King that you are removing yourself from Avalon’s Sanctuary?”

“Yes!” Narcissa hissed not caring that she lied, all she wanted to do was leave and the King and his Consort could kiss her arse.

“Very well, follow me Lady Black.” Griphook stated with narrowed eyes, he wasn’t sure if she was lying or not. But made a mental note to inform the King as soon as he returned her to British soil.

Narcissa nodded quickly as she followed him out of the room and toward the international floo in Gringotts. Once in the floo Griphook shouted out their destination in Goblin tongue. And they were taken back to the bank in Diagon Alley.

Once back Narcissa stormed out of the Bank and into the alley, not once noticing the man with white blonde hair following behind her. Just as she walked down Knockturn Alley, she was grabbed from behind. The voice of the one that grabbed her sent a chill down her spine.

“Welcome back Cissa, our Lord will be pleased to see you.” Lucius whispered menacingly as he port keyed his ex-wife out of the alley.
