Chapter 48: Love: Postgame
Outside the Infirmary: the next morning:
“I can’t believe that evil cow,” said Alicia with a frown.
“I know,” said Angelina with a grimace. “I never thought that Bletchley would go that far. Do you think that Pomfrey is going to let Katie out this morning?”
“I hope so,” said Alicia. She gasped and tugged on Angelina’s robe when she saw Marcus Flint coming down the hallway.
“Flint,” said Angie with a look of relief. “Is Katie going to be okay? Pomfrey won’t let us in to see her.”
“As far as I know,” said Marcus with a worried frown. He wondered if anything had changed during the night.
“Is it true about Bletchley?” asked Alicia nervously.
“She’s gone,” said Marcus flatly.
“Did you kill her,” asked Angelina apprehensively. “The rumor is that you and the other Slytherin seventh year boys whacked her and disposed of her body in the Forbidden Forest. I know how you feel about Katie and I’m not sure that the rumor doesn’t have some truth to it.”
The expression on Marcus’s face was a mixture of indignation and amusement. The amusement won. Marcus started to laugh when he stopped a few minutes later; both Gryffindor chasers were frowning at him.
“Thank-you,” said Marcus as he smiled at the two girls. “I needed a laugh. I should be mortally insulted. Like I would not have the foresight to make sure I found a better hiding spot for Billy’s body. Besides, I wouldn’t kill her now. I would automatically be the prime suspect. If I were going to kill Billy, I would first find someone else to pin it on. And I would do it in private, far away from Hogwarts. I’m not thick, you know.”
“I’ve always known that you were clever,” said Alicia with a reluctant grin.
“Sly,” added Angelina.
“Manipulative,” said Alicia.
“Stop ladies,” said Marcus with a grin. “You are making me blush.”
At that moment, Madame Pomfrey came out into the hallway with a frown.
“Mr. Flint,” said Pomfrey with a glare at the giggling Gryffindor girls. “Miss Bell and I are waiting for you. Come along.” The nurse ushered Marcus into the infirmary.
Marcus smiled into Katie’s eyes as he approached the bed. Katie’s face lit up when she saw Marcus come through the doors. She was sitting on the side of the bed dressed and twisting her fingers in her lap. Marcus could clearly see that she was nervous. Marcus sat beside Katie and took her cold hand in his own.
“Now,” said Pomfrey briskly. “We have some issues to discuss. It is a good thing that today is Sunday. The infirmary is, as always, empty on most Sunday mornings. I do believe that both of you would like to keep this matter as private as possible.”
“Yes,” said Marcus firmly. He gripped Katie’s hand tighter.
Madame Pomfrey proceeded to tell them about the plants and animals that Katie had to stay clear of. She also gave them valuable hints on how to use concealment charms. Before Marcus and Katie left, Madame Pomfrey had made them promise to come to her if there was anything wrong and she also made a weekly appointment for Katie to come see her. Some magical pregnancies were tricky. When they left the infirmary, Angelina and Alicia were gone.
Later as they were walking towards Gryffindor Tower, Katie stopped Marcus in his tracks. They were standing in a deserted hallway.
“Where is she?” asked Katie softly and little dangerously.
Marcus knew which she they were talking about. “Bletchley’s gone,” said Marcus. “She voluntarily withdrew last night. Her father took her away immediately.”
“She nearly hurt our baby,” said Katie lowly as her voice broke.
“I know love,” said Marcus as he stroked her face with a serious expression on his rugged features. “I wanted to kill her. I mean I really did. Not with my wand either. I wanted to wrap my hands around her throat and squeeze.”
“Marcus,” said Katie with a worried expression on her face. She saw the deep cold anger in his face.
“My mates talked me out of it,” said Marcus with a sigh. “But I wanted to Katie – for you.”
“You would have gone to Azkaban,” said Katie as she gripped his fingers tightly.
“I know,” said Marcus intensely. “But she has been punished Katie.”
“How,” asked Katie with a frown. “She’ll just go to Durmstrang.”
“Billy longed for only one thing – social power,” said Marcus. “I will make sure that no wizard in Britain will have her even with her two hundred thousand galleons. You will never see her again.”
“You promise,” said Katie tremulously.
“I promise,” said Marcus firmly. He kissed her trembling mouth softly. Then his mouth returned for another hungry kiss. Katie’s mouth softened under his seeking lips. She returned his kiss frantically. In a matter of moments, Marcus had his hands buried in her hair and his mouth was slanted over Katie’s kissing her fiercely. Katie’s hands were clinging to his broad shoulders.
“I thought I had lost you last night,” whispered Marcus as he trailed kisses down her bared throat. Katie pushed herself tight against his hard body and wrapped her arms around his neck.
“I know,” whispered Katie. “Marcus, I love you.”
“I know,” said Marcus with a slight grin against her mouth. He kissed her softly. “I love you more than words can say.”
“Show me,” whispered Katie as she stroked the nape of his neck, her eyes were dark and slumberous.
“I can’t, ” said Marcus with a slight frown. “You just got out of the hospital ward.”
“Then do it slow and gently,” said Katie as she leaned against the wall with a glint in her eyes. She opened her robe with a slight smile on her lips. She could see his desire for her warring with the seldom seem altruistic side of his personality. Then she saw those dark eyes snap to her face when she slipped her pants down her legs. His breathing hitched and Katie gave a smile of triumph.
“Vixen,” said Marcus with a groan as he captured her mouth with a hot sucking kiss. “I’m trying to do the right thing,” said Marcus with frustration.
“But I want to feel you inside of me,” said Katie softly as she ran a hand down his trembling body. She stroked his robe covered chest with a purr of pleasure.
“Merlin,” said Marcus with a soft groan as her hand ran over his erection. He leaned his forehead against hers then gave her a fierce kiss.
“Look at me,” said Marcus as he backed her into the wall. Katie shivered as his powerful thighs parted her legs with a swift gesture and she watched hungrily as he moved his clothing away to expose his thrusting penis. Katie moaned as he pushed into her body. His eyes intensely looked into her own as he began to move against her body with deep slow thrusts of his hips. “Is this what you wanted?” asked Marcus.
“Yes,” said Katie breathlessly. “I needed you.”
“You have me,” said Marcus throatily. He ran his hands up her torso to squeeze her cloth covered breasts. His thumbs ran over the distended nipples. Katie gasped and arched her throat. She could feel him deep inside her.
“You feel so good,” said Katie as her hips moved to his rhythm.
Marcus slid into her hot wet cleft with a soft moan of pleasure and gave a heavy lidded smile. In that deserted corridor, they moved quietly and hungrily against one another. Marcus’s hips began to thrust harder and more choppily into her as Katie’s moans got louder.
Marcus heard his Katie get more and more vocal as he moved inside her tight sheath. He covered her mouth with his as he felt her begin to spasm and jerk against him.
Katie sucked on Marcus’s tongue and let the pleasure take her. The waves of pleasure whipped through her body and left her breathless and clinging to Marcus’s arms. Katie lifted her mouth off of Marcus’s and watched through heavy lidded eyes as Marcus grasped her hips tightly and pounded into her with fast short thrusts until he stiffened and said her name with a loud groan of pleasure. Katie could feel the sudden burst of warmth deep inside her as Marcus poured his passion into her.
Marcus panted against her hair as they recovered from their tryst. He lifted his head when he finally could and gave her shoulder a light kiss.
He muttered a cleaning spell as Katie panted against the wall. Her knees were still weak.
Marcus was helping Katie with her robes when he lifted the ring that was hanging from neck on a chain and held it up.
“I think it’s time you wore this,” said Marcus seriously.
“We are really getting married, aren’t we?” said Katie with surprise.
“Of course,” said Marcus with a frown.
“I always knew,” said Katie gently as she touched Marcus’s face. “I just never thought it would happen so quickly. I think I was obsessing on how my parents would take the news that I was pregnant to even think about the fact that we are going to be married.”
Marcus undid the necklace and pulled up her hand. He slid the glittering emerald onto her finger with a smile.
“See,” said Marcus. “It is now official.”
“What?” asked Katie in confusion.
“You belong to me, Katie,” said Marcus possessively.
“And you belong to me, Marcus,” said Katie firmly. Her eyes were filled with love.
The Entrance Hall:
Alicia waited in the shadows outside the Great Hall waiting for the Slytherins to finish eating. Her heart was pounding with trepidation. She needed to speak with Terry.
After Angelina and she had given up their vigil outside of the Infirmary, she had waited patiently for the Slytherins to make it to breakfast. It had taken them forever but they had finally come up. She had been too scared to brave the entire lot of them earlier but she had high hopes that they would not leave the Great Hall in a big group. She wanted to speak to Terry. She knew that she could not count on Adrian’s help. He had been furious with her for breaking up with Terry before the game.
“Merlin,” thought Alicia. “I didn’t think of anything else besides the game for weeks. Now, with Katie being pushed down the stairs and Terry, the game doesn’t seem all that important.” Her heart leapt when she saw Terry come out of the Hall doors and head towards the dungeons. Alicia gave a deep breath for courage and called out his name. Her smile faltered a bit when she saw the look on Terry’s face when he turned to face her.
“Can I help you Spinnet,” asked Higgs coolly.
“Terry,” said Alicia hesitantly. “I wanted to talk to you. We didn’t have a chance last night.”
“You do mean you were too busy to speak to me,” said Terry with a frown.
“That’s not true,” said Alicia with indignation.
“Now, I’m supposed to stand here and talk now that you have the time,” said Terry sulkily. “Should I thank you now or later that you have deigned to speak to me?”
“Terry,” said Alicia with bewilderment.
“Bugger off,” said Terry angrily. “Why don’t you go back to Gryffindor where you belong. And quit acting like a martyr. You are the one who broke it off with me.”
“What was last night about then,” said Alicia angrily. “A good-bye shag?”
“I guess it was,” said Terry with a shrug. “You are the one who left.”
“I had too,” said Alicia heatedly.
“No, you had a choice,” said Terry with hard eyes. “And you made it. See you around Spinnet.” Terry turned and walked away.
“Terry,” said Alicia with frustration. Higgs did not turn around.
The Slytherin Dungeons:
“I’m so hungover,” moaned Adrian. He shifted an arm to pull Angie closer under the covers.
“You evil boy,” said Angelina affectionately. “I’m the one who should have a hangover. After all we won.” She rested her head on his chest.
“How did you get in here,” asked Adrian sleepily.
“I waited until the sorry hungover lot of you went up for breakfast,” said Angelina complacently. “Then I came in. I overheard you say the password the other night. By the way, you Slytherins should change that password more often.”
“I agree,” said Adrian lazily. “All sort of riff raff are getting in lately…owww..that was my arm.”
“You don’t need for Quidditch anymore,” said Angie with a grin.
“Woman,” said Adrian with a note of steel in his voice. “If you mention the fact that Gryffindor won again, I’ll….”
“You’ll what?” asked Angie with a raised eyebrow.
“I’ll never let you molest my delectable body again,” said Adrian smoothly.
“But Adrian,” said Angelina reasonably. “That means you’ll never molest mine either.”
“Details,” muttered Adrian. “Now be a good witch and get me my hangover potion.”
“Now why would I want to do that,” asked Angelina with a tart tone. “Your worship.”
“I’ll show you,” purred Adrian. “And Angelina.”
“What?” asked Angelina as she reluctantly began to search for the potion.
“Take your robe off,” purred Adrian with a sultry look in his eyes.
Angelina smiled and obeyed. “Yes, your worship.”
