When he first met Harry, the two had been anything but attracted to the other. Harry had tried to kill him when, in a thirst for blood, he had attacked the petite wizard. Needless to say, Stefan had been surprised when his quick meal had blasted him across the room and through the wall.

But as time went on their attraction to one another built as well and before long they would spend nights together before one of them would leave for the day.

After a night together, Stefan decided it was finally time to change up their old routine. Pulling his pants on while Harry dressed in his clothes, Stefan decided it was now or never.

“Harry before you go there is something I want to talk to you about.” Stefan said, smiling at his little wizard, hoping to reassure him that it was nothing bad.

“What's up?” Harry asked, playing with the buttons on his shirt nervously.

Reaching out, Stefan led Harry back over to the bed and sat him down on it.

“We've had this...arrangement for almost a year and a half now and I want to switch it up. The final decision is up to you though.”

“What is it?”

“I feel like I've known you forever even though we rarely share any secrets and the fact that the only times we've spent together were when we've been in bed together, but I feel like you're it for me. I want you by my side forever.” Stefan said slipping his hands into his pocket and pulling out a tiny square, black velvet box.

Flipping the lid there was a small silver ring holding a blue, lapis lazuli stone in it. There were three bands that merged into one band. The middle band had a beaded 'S' line design on it. The stone spanned across each band in the shape of a rectangle.

“This ring is like mine, bar the Salvatore crest. It protects me from the sun and allows me to roam during the day. I want you to be mine now and forever. I want you to wear this so it will protect you from the sun as well. I want you to join me in eternal life.”

“I...I can't let you turn me yet because, as you said, we don't know much about each other. But I will wear the ring while we're together. I want to get you know you first before I give you a final answer about being turned.”

Nodding because he understood the logic in that, Stefan said, “I can't fault you on wanting to get to know one another first. I'd feel horrible if I turned you and then we got to know one another and realized we didn't really get along.”

Smiling in thanks, Harry said, “How about we start getting to know one another now? There's this little fair not far from here and I think it would be a perfect first date.”

Grinning, Stefan jumped up and put a shirt on and said, “I would love to.”

Walking out after putting on their shoes, Stefan wrapped an arm around Harry's waist. He had a feeling that when they got to knew each other better Harry wouldn't be telling him 'no' to being turned.
