Getting Out
CHAPTER 44: Getting Out
Lucius needed to get Hermione out of the house early so that the event staff could begin setting up, so he decided on the easiest route he could think of to get her motivated to leave and picked a fight.
“Lucius, tell me where my track suit is! I know you didn’t burn it.” Hermione stood in the doorway of their closet, her riotous curls falling back over her shoulders. She was wearing a pair of stretchy lace boy shorts and a matching bra.
Lucius sat in the chair and watched her with a smug smile on his face. He liked her just as she was, round little tummy and all, but he was sick to death of the Gryffindor sweat suit.
“No, wear something else, anything else, even another track suit if it makes you happy.” Lucius said stubbornly.
“It’s the only one I have that has a shirt long enough to cover my belly all the others ride up and leave me exposed.” She reached onto the top shelf of their closet and pulled down a pair of neatly folded yoga pants and stepped into them, settling the waistband low under the curve of the baby.
“Wear one of mine.” Lucius tossed her a black tee with the Slytherin crest on it and laughed.
“I’ll not wear a Slytherin anything thank you.” She said, tossing it back.
“I’m a Slytherin and chances are the little one inside you is a Slytherin too.”
“Too early to be determining house, we don’t even know the sex yet. And I’m not seen in public wearing you am I?” She asked, hands on her hips as she glared at him. “Besides, you could be in for quiet a shock Mr. Malfoy, this little one could be a brunette like its mother.”
“Keep telling yourself that if it makes you happy, love.” Lucius said, reaching behind her and pulling one of his dress shirts from a hanger. “Here wear this; we are stopping by the clothier to order you some clothes more suitable for the next few months.”
Hermione pulled on the shirt and frowned. The sleeves were almost a foot too long and the tails of the shirt fell to below her knees.
“I keep forgetting you’re a giant. I hope your children are normal sized, at least at birth.” She complained as Lucius transfigured the shirt to a better fit.
“Draco was average.” Lucius watched her slide her feet into a pair of soft leather flats. “You just seem awfully small still, should we maybe stop in and see the physician?”
“What is your obsession with me getting bigger? Is it actual concern or just a need for everyone to see your proficiency at spreading your seed?” She asked, hands on her hips and head cocked to the side.
“Why do you have to say it like that? You make it sound like farming.” Lucius curled his lips in distaste. “I’m just concerned.” He slipped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer. “And I rather enjoy this rounder you and look forward to enjoying even more of you.” He kissed the end of her nose and waggled his brows.
“That’s a nice thing to say.” She reached up and tugged the ribbon in his hair and tossed it onto the bureau.
“Why do you keep doing that? Its very windy today you know.” Lucius didn’t sound all that upset.
“Stop tying it back and I won’t pull it free it’s really not that difficult to figure out.” Hermione said as she ran her fingers through his hair.
“Come on, love, let’s go to breakfast.” Lucius apparated them to the foyer and retrieved their winter cloaks from the closet.
“I don’t see why we can’t eat breakfast at home.” Hermione muttered as she bundled into her cloak and hat.
“Humor me, I wish to take my wife to breakfast and shopping…..perhaps we can go to the baby shop.” Lucius said as he slid his hands into his dragonhide gloves. “Then of course we have court today.”
“Ugh, stop reminding me.”
“Is that what has you so grumpy today? You don’t want to go to court?” Lucius reached for his walking stick and hat.
“Oh, it’s just annoying me. They forced us to wed, and when the outcome was favorable it seems like they want to rub our noses in it.” Hermione donned the wool beret that matched her cloak and let Lucius slide his arms around her.
“Well, this will be the last they see of us, love. I promise.” He kissed her quickly and disapparated them to Hogsmeade.

Hi everyone! So sorry! I didn’t abandon the story I promise! Remember when I mentioned I was getting sick? Turned out what I was ignoring as a simple cold was full blown pneumonia and I ended up in the hospital for almost four days with a temp that was cooking my brain and so dehydrated it was a wonder I could remain conscious. Im recovering now, and back to working on the story….just a tad slower since I’m still pretty tired and weak…….but I’ll get it completed, I promise……..sorry for the short chapter, longer, more detailed ones are coming as my brain returns to fully functional.
