3.

“Muffliato” Harry whispered to the early morning as he sneaked into hermione’s tent and pointed his wand at the tent’s entrance.

Hermione rested peacefully. Harry had no regrets for the choice he made to save her. He rubbed his left arm absentmindedly.

Eventually, He would have to tell her. Preferably before she figured it out herself. Friends looked out for each other.

She didn’t look like she had been through hell and back with him. The only sign of that time was the lion upon her forearm. The same one upon his arm as well.

Her breathing changed. She stirred.

Harry spied her wand and gently placed it in her hand as he sat next to her.

They were on their own. They had so much work to do.

“Harry?” She sleepily asked.

“I don’t have much to teach Hermione. With just two spells that work against those inferi. The shield charm isn't enough.”

“We will figure it out.”

Harry grinned. “I can do one better Hermione. There is at least one of those things in the security room.”

“We have to destroy it” Harry stated.

They had no idea what one of those things could do.  Hermione nodded.

“Every moment will help in the long run.” As he got off the bed. She followed suit and then crinkled her nose as she smelled her shirt.

“We have to do laundry or find new clothes.” Harry splayed his hands out the tent entrance. They were in a mall.

“Lets get it done.” Hermione stated as she rolled her eyes.

Harry nodded and left the tent. Hermione was his second.

Dawn had yet to arrive.

Harry lead them to a stairway that lead close to the security room. The double metal doors were sealed tight by the locking charm.

There could be no easy access to the top floor from the ground level. Otherwise they’d be overrun. It was easy to forget that locked doors were the only thing that kept them all alive. Even with the unbreakable charm placed on the glass doors.

“Alohomora”

Hermione whispered softly. The double doors swung open. Harry kept his wand at the ready. Nothing lunged at them.

Lumos” Harry’s wand lit up. The light banished the dark revealing the cream colored walls and cream colored tiles.

Harry took a few steps waited for Hermione and then descended. The doors closed behind them as the squelched themselves closed.

“Good thinking, Hermione!”

They made it way down the stairs without issue and the second set of metal doors opened.

Hermione could cast wordlessly. Harry started at her in awe. She really was the brightest witch of this age. He thought as they emerged from the stairwell onto the ground floor. Close to the security office.

“Harry, there was a reason you said you needed combat experience to come to the ground floor.” Hermione looked at him.

He pointed the heavy metal door and the small plaque that read Offloading & Storage

“There was a breeze coming through that door before I locked it. One of those things tried to force its way inside here. Somewhere, in there.

“There’s an open door to outside.” Hermione finished.

“We don’t know how many of those things are there just waiting for us.” There was a sound of cracking glass. It made them both jump.

The inferi inside the security office somehow knew they were there.

Harry moved quickly exiting the hallway and pointing at the couches. To block off the hallway entrance.

“Locomotor couches

The large brown couches chased after him and blocked the hallway with a loud thud.

Hermione calmly pointed at the security door. As glass shards clattered to the ground.

Reparo

The shards forced themselves together in the frame. The door repaired itself faster than the inferi could strike it.

Hermione looked at Harry. As Harry took aim at the center of the door.

Expulso!” There was a burst of blue light as Harry shouted. The door splintered apart.

Confringo!” Hermione’s curse soared through the shattering door with a terrific explosion.

Harry wasn’t taking any chances.

Protego”  An unseen barrier kept the debris from flowing out of the room.

“I think this will be best. One person protecting the other ready for anything.” Harry stated.

Hermione nodded and they let the dust settle. Her curse had made quite the mess. His shield charm abated.

Harry let her go first. Ready to place a shield charm between her and any danger.

“I think we went a little overboard Harry.” Hermione stated.

“There’s atleast two more spells that work.” Harry retorted.

Hermione’s curse had blasted the inferi’s body half completely off. The top half had managed to find itself impaled on a coat rack.

“These things can take a lot of punishment. Incendio”

Harry observed as he quickly caused it to burst into flames. It screeched suddenly being alight. It futilely tried to get off the coat rack to no avail. The flames consumed it abnormally fast. As it stilled and smoldered.

There was a sudden screech. There was another of those things in the single cell. The cell door was locked but that mattered little as the dead thing screech and futilely lunged at them.

Protego!” The unseen charm pushed the inferi from the bars.

There was a moment of relief for Harry that the shield charm had worked. He let the shield charm dissipate.

Flipendo!” Hermione whispered and the horrid dead was blasted back from the bars.

“That’s all we need to know for now, We need to destroy it”

“Incendio!” They both cried. The dead thing incinerated quickly. Putrid black smoke poured off the horrid thing. As it crumbled to ash.

Neither, of them said anything for a moment.

Reparo” They both swung their wands and the door’s splintered remnants returned to its proper place and became whole.

The chaotic mess reverted itself back into an ordered room.

“Before we can take back the storage area. We’re going to have to close that open door.” Hermione stated.

“Or we will face an unending horde of them.” Harry agreed. Without a broom though it would be difficult.

A dull pain crept up on his left arm. He kept his face neutral.

Of course, the git would decide to call.

“Lets get back to the others.”

There was an ominious greenlight from the furniture store.

“Harry Potter, Your participation is required." A polite voice respectfully requested him.

That Git. Harry thought dismayed.
