Breaking Ties
Getting Settled
Harry made his way to the Leaky Cauldron. He sent up a silent prayer when anybody passed him that they wouldn’t recognize him. So far nobody had. Once at the pub, he made his way to Tom.
“Mister Potter! How may I help you?” Tom asked Harry.
Harry smiled at him,
“I need a room Tom. I’d also like for nobody to know that I’m here. I need privacy and that means that the Ministry nor Dumbledore can know I’m here.”
Tom smiled back,
“Of course, Mister Potter. I can put you down under a false name and in a room, that hides your magical signature. What name would you like used?”
Harry thought for a minute,
“Jason Bourne”
Harry laughed to himself. He had seen the movie once when the Dursley’s were out and had dreamed of being like Jason.
“Very well Mister Bourne. Here is your room key. Enjoy your stay.”
Harry took his key and levitated his trunk to his room. He was just finishing settling in when Hedwig flew through the window.
“Hey girl. Got a letter for me?” Hedwig held out her leg and Harry to the letter.
He sat down on his bed and read the letter, a smile forming.
Potter,
You are correct in stating we have never been friends, but I am glad to know that you are now seeing the errors of your ways. I can forgive you this because you were young and had no notion of the Wizarding world before then. I have asked my father to read your letter to see if there is anything that can be done. I will write and let you know what is going on once I know myself. Knowing father, he may do what he does best and send you the paperwork without telling me. If that occurs, please let me know that we have been of service.
Yours,
Draco Malfoy
Harry couldn’t stop smiling. He was still smiling when Tom brought him dinner.
“Tom, until my business is completed I won’t be leaving my room. Would you kindly have my meal brought up until further notice?”
“Of course, Have a good night Sir.”
Harry thanked him and went to his desk. As he ate he wrote out his list of things to do.
- Practice wandless magic
- School shopping
- Paperwork, when it comes
- Bank, after emancipation
- Find an apartment
- Start living for me
He smiled at the last item on his list. That was the one he couldn’t wait for. He cleaned up and got ready for bed.
‘I can’t wait to see what happens once all of this is finished and the world sees me for me.’ Harry thought as he drifted off to sleep.
Hey all! I'm going to try and knock out as many chapters as I can before the new year. I have college classes starting in January and my writing will most likely slow down during that time. Hope you are enjoy the story!
