Chapter Four

I ran to the lake in the woods. I cried the entire way there. I couldn’t help myself. Nothing in the world could have stopped me from crying.
As I sat at the edge of the lake, I broke apart twigs. Tears still crept silently down my face. I didn’t know what to think or what to do. So I just sat there and continued to break the twigs and let the wind play with my hair and dry my falling tears.
Out of nowhere, ropes began tying down my limbs. I opened my mouth to cry out but a gag was placed there.
“Thought you could run from me, didn’t you?” Draco’s voice came from behind. I lay there on the ground, writhing around and attempting to set myself free. “Don’t even bother. The ropes are cursed. You won’t be getting out of that grip anytime soon.”
I stopped moving around and decided to stare across the water. I sighed heavily and waited for my captor to start talking again.
He, instead, removed my gag and ordered me not to scream. I continued to lay there. There was nothing else I really could do.
“Tell me you love me and you want to spend the rest of your life with me.” He whispered in my ear.
“Haven’t you made me say that enough today, Draco?” I asked, rolling my eyes.
“Say it,” He demanded, his wand pointed at my throat. I knew right then that there was no escaping his madness. I decided from then on out I would stop running and stop fighting. There was obviously no control over my future anymore. I was a machine. That was it.
“I love you, Draco. I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” I sighed. I wasn’t cursed, just exhausted.
“Why do you make her lie to you?” Ian’s stern voice came from the trees.
“Show yourself, Ian.” Draco commanded. Ian jumped down from a random tree and held his hands in the air, showing he was unarmed.
“I’m just curious.” He said innocently.
I silently began working on the knots in the rope.
“Stand down,” Draco said.
I felt others around me. I knew it wasn’t just the two of them.
“And if I don’t?” Ian asked.
“I’ll have to kill you.” Draco responded with an icy tone.
“I’m just curious as to why I don’t have a say in this.” I said to the wind.
“You wouldn’t kill a fellow Death Eater. Isn’t that against the rules?” Ian taunted.
Voldemort walked onto the scene.
“Both of you need to calm down.” He demanded. Lucius, Mr. Sparrow, and my father came out from behind the trees.
“My Lord,” The two boys said, bowing low.
“Oh, thank god.” I whispered. The ropes were loosened and I was set free. My father rushed to my side and made sure I was alright.
Voldemort swiftly walked over to Draco.
“What is your obsession with this girl, young Malfoy?” He asked, pulling his wand out.
Draco rose from his low bow.
“Its not an obsession, my Lord.” He said, softly.
“What is it, then?” The Dark Lord asked.
“I believe I’m in love, sir.” Draco answered loudly.
I snorted. Draco’s eyes shot at me. It was a look of pure rage. A little fear rose in my chest and I gripped my father’s hand tightly.
Ian cautiously walked over to me while Voldemort took Draco for a walk to hopefully talk some sense into him.
“Are you alright, Analyn?” He asked, pushing a stray hair behind my ear. I nodded in return. “Everything is going to be okay.” He smiled.
I knew that he was going to try comforting me in my time of need. This would win him points. He was probably thankful that Draco had gone crazy. I wasn’t, of course. However, it wasn’t for the same reason everyone thinks. I hated that this was tearing up our friendships. We were all just really good friends. Nothing could break us all apart. Turns out something could.
I stood up and started walking back to the manor. I wanted to be alone for awhile.
“Analyn?” Ian’s voice came from behind me. I turned my head slightly. “Where are you going?”
“I just need a few minutes, ok?” I sighed and continued walking home.
Once I had walked out of the woods, I had a sudden urge to run. It was instinct. I listened to my gut and ran. I could hear someone running after me which made me fun faster. I veered away from my home and started running down the street, towards civilization.
“Stop! Analyn, wait!” It was Draco’s voice. “I’m sorry! Please, wait!”
I stopped dead in my tracks.
“You’re sorry?” I snarled, turning around to meet him face to face.
He stopped as quickly as he could so he didn’t run into me.
“Yes, Analyn. I’m sorry.” He cooed, placing his hands on my shoulders. I pushed him away. His facial expressions showed confusion and hurt.
“How can you do this? Every time you do something wrong, you come back and apologize. What the fuck, Draco?! Make up your damn mind!” I snapped. I began to walk past him to lock myself in my room again, but he grabbed my arm.
“Please, Analyn. Hon, listen to me.” He begged.
“No, fuck off.” I exclaimed, pulling my arm back.
“Analyn, babe,” he began.
“Stop calling me pet names. I’m not your sweetheart.” I spat, and started walking back towards my manor again. He followed.
“Look, there’s a 50% chance that we will get married,”
“And there’s a 50% chance that we won’t!” I interrupted. He sighed.
“Just listen,” He pleaded.
“No, you listen!” I screamed. “When you get your mind back, you can call me. Right now, I don’t want anything to do with you.” I began to storm off into my manor. He didn’t follow this time. He just stood there in the sun and pouted.
I stormed through the living room and ran right up the staircase.
“Fuck this.” I said to my bedroom as I barged into it.
“Analyn,” came a hissy, raspy voice. I looked around and found the Dark Lord relaxing on my couch. “Calm down, child.”
I rolled my eyes.
“Why should I calm down? Do you not see the way he’s acting?” I plopped down on my bed. “Ugh, he’s such an asshole!”
Lord Voldemort smiled and nodded.
“Soon, he will be the Draco you remember.” The Dark Lord vowed. I gave him a confused expression. “I’ve given him his mission.”
“What is he to do, my Lord?” I asked, curious.
“He is to kill Dumbledore.” He smiled, evilly. My eyes grew wide.
Things didn’t seem quite right. I understand why Voldemort would need Professor Dumbledore gone. To kill Harry Potter, he would need the major threats out of his way. It would make things easier. However, Mr. Malfoy obviously knows that I inherit Hogwarts when my parents die. What were they planning?
Voldemort must have noticed me thinking.
“Don’t worry yourself, Analyn. Everything will work out. Once Dumbledore is dead, Draco will be back to normal. He’s more than likely stressing out over this.” He patted me on the head and exited my bedroom. I sighed and laid back on my bed.
There was a knock at my door. I got up and opened the door. Karissa was there. I opened the door wider and let her in.
“What’s up?” I sighed.
“How are you doing?” She asked with a concerned expression on her face. I shrugged.
“Could be better, could be worse.” I laid on my back again.
“These men, though,” I started.
“Just go date a woman!” Karissa joked, smiling and laughing.
“That’s a good idea, actually.” I gasped. “I am bisexual. It’ll kill them!”
Karissa rolled her eyes.
“I’m going to go check on Orville. Its about time he awoke from his nap.” She expressed, getting up and leaving my room.
I immediately thought of all the bisexual girls I knew at school. There weren’t many. I guess I would just look around when I got to Hogwarts tomorrow. Having a girlfriend would make both Ian and Draco jealous. Or, it could cause serious problems. What would happen if I fell in love with this girl? I’m sure my parents would frown upon having a girlfriend in the first place… I guess I’ll just have to find out.

I laid down on my bed and read out of my father’s spell book as the sun went down. I got dressed in my pajama’s and snuggled under the covers. I closed my eyes and tried to relax.
Misty flew in and landed on my bed post. I opened one eye and looked at her. She had a letter tied to her leg. I continued to stare as I debated whether to open it or not. Curiosity finally took over and I got out of bed and looked at the parchment.

Analyn,
I’m too excited about school tomorrow to sleep. What are you up to? Are you doing any better? Have you come up with any ideas on how to deal with Ian and Draco? Need any help with it? I can totally kick their asses for you!
Ava Lee

I smiled and went to my writing desk.

Ava Lee,
I have actually come up with something. What’s your take on this: A girlfriend. This could either cause more problems, or solve all of them at once. I know it would make both Ian and Draco jealous. My parents might frown upon her though.
It’s just that I’m not ready for marriage. I’m not ready to settle down and have kids. I’m trying to be the greatest witch in the entire world. My father has been training me ever since I could perform magic. Having a husband who wants to immediately impregnate me would slow down my practicing.
Another problem I have is that I told both Ian and Draco that I didn’t want to have a relationship while I was at Hogwarts. How do I get around that?
Analyn

I rolled up the parchment and tied it to Misty’s leg. Sending her off, I laid back on my bed awaiting a response from Ava Lee. She was always very good at giving advice. I treasured her advice. She always knew exactly what to do and say. Hopefully, she’d be able to stop me from making any big mistakes.
Misty flew in a few minutes later and stuck out her leg. Ava Lee’s letter was attached to it. I retrieved it and began to read.

Analyn,
A girlfriend might just work, actually. Just make sure she’s not one of those clingy bitches who want to be with you every second of every day. Also, make sure she doesn’t give two shits about what you do. That will solve the “no relationship at Hogwarts” issue with Ian and Draco.
I understand not wanting to get married. I don’t want to at the current moment either. I really don’t see myself getting married at all. Who knows, though? Maybe I’ll meet a guy (or girl) that brings me to my knees! Just live life, girl! Go with the flow. Things will all get better in the end. If it doesn’t, it isn’t the end.
Ava Lee

I smiled and began to write a response.

Ava Lee,
Thanks, Ava Lee. I think I’m going to get some sleep, though. I’m real excited about Hogwarts, as well. I’ll see you on the train tomorrow. G’night!
Analyn

I sent Misty off and climbed back into bed. I had to get up early and get to the train station tomorrow. I needed some sleep.
