Running Scared Part 3
There are moments in life where one must grab life by the horns instead of taking life as it comes. That's what Draco had learned the moment he went off with Ezekiel Bloor when he insisted they go to London.
At this moment, let's look at what happened to Draco: He had run away from Hogwarts with Snape after Dumbledore's death. He then had an encounter with Seamus LeSouse-Rowes, whose story about Dumbledore began to cast doubt in Draco's mind as to who he was and after learning about how and why Dumbledore destroyed the Rowes and Romanov families, Draco was sure Dumbledore deserved to die.
But anyway, Draco found himself boarding the bus with Ezekiel Bloor and the bus took off. By that time, many people had overheard Seamus's story about Dumbledore and were now beginning to question who the old wizard really was.
Ezekiel said to him, "So Drake Black, why do you run away?"
Draco said to him, "Well, first off, I'm tired of my parents trying to decide my future."
"I see," said the old man. "Your parents are like in old dark days, still trying to find a bride for you. But what if you don't love the girl your parents choose for you? My son, Bartholomew, he picks his own bride. It was a love match made in Heaven. That was, until he was lost in the Himalayas and his wife danced until she died of a broken heart."
"Didn't they find him?" asked Draco.
"No," said Ezekiel. "They searched everywhere. No trace of him. He just...disappeared."
"Well, that's sad," said Draco.
"So what be about you, little boy?" asked the old man. "What be another reason why you are running away?"
"They think I killed the old man," said Draco.
"Not that he didn't deserve it," said Ezekiel. "I heard he did bad things. He hurt people. He should get what he deserved."
"So now what?" said Draco. "Why do you want to go to London? What's your excuse?"
"I don't know!" laughed the old man. "There are reasons why we should or should not go. But we must go! Now, onward!"
Draco said nothing else for a good while, allowing Ezekiel's story to flood his head. He knew he needed to stand up to his parents and Voldemort and take charge of his own life. But how would he be able to do that without being zapped or worse, killed?
The bus stopped and another passenger stepped on. Draco tensed; people had been staring at him all day, all looking at him with scorn and pity. But this passenger had white hair and red eyes. Ernest Lestrange.
"Cousin Draco!" he cried out. "I heard everything that had happened! I know you didn't kill Dumbledore! He was a good man."
Ezekiel laughed and said, "Another little albino, eh? No no no, silly little boy! Dumbledore was not a good man at all! He is a bad man!"
"He's bad?" cried Ernest.
"He did bad things and hurt people!" yelled Ezekiel. "He got what he deserved, and what he deserved is death!" He laughed again.
Draco said to him, "Don't mind his laughter. He is stranger than he looks."
"But I am powerful!" yelled Ezekiel. "I can do powerful things!"
"Like what?" Draco cried out.
"I will make sure that even the old man's name is wiped out off the face of the earth!" cried Ezekiel. "He did bad things!"
"What's with him?" asked Ernest.
"He's a little weird," said Draco. "Just a bit weird for my taste."
"I don't know," said Ernest. "Usually, my mother doesn't want me to hang out with weird people."
"Well, your mother is strange herself," said Draco, "so you're not alone there."
"She's angry with you," said Ernest. "She zapped several innocent people and killed Rigenby for your mistake. The Dark Lord had to lock her up in the cold room to get her to calm down."
Draco sighed. He knew that his family woul be destroyed if he failed to kill Dumbledore, but he never knew that his own aunt would go insane and kill anyone. But then again, he knew she was capable of killing people who displeased her. Oh, the perks of being the Dark Lord's captain!
The bus soon stopped again and several more people climbed onboard. Little did Draco and Ernest know that those people would be part of their pasts...and their future.
