“Things sometimes don’t make sense, sometimes what we really want in life can never be given to us. Sometimes our lives play out in ways that we truly didn’t want to have happen and all we can do is wait for another day, another moment to regain the power that we’ve lost to dreaming and chasing those dreams into an endless dark. These times, these moments may not be as dark as before but they do have meaning. I’ve forgotten what it meant to be your age. I had been so wrapped up in saving my life and the wizarding world that I had forgotten that I had forfeit my teenage years.” Harry took a deep breathe and slowly let it out as he tried not to start shouting at Albus. He knew that would not accomplish anything and probably drive him farther away.
“Dad, what’s the point?” Albus asked, fidgeting, he knew something was really wrong. His father looked like he was about to rip something apart.
“I know that we’ve been slowly drifting apart. Especially since I’ve been wrapped up in teaching James. I haven’t paid as much attention to you as I used to and I’m sorry for that,” he explained.
“Yeah, that’s what happens when people grow up and move away from their parents,” Albus grumbled, looking away.
“You’re 16, that doesn’t mean you’re an adult yet,” Harry growled back, letting his anger flare slightly.
“Well pretty soon I will be,” Albus reminded him.
“I am the last person to judge you. There’s nothing that I would be ashamed of-” Harry started.
“Bullshit dad! You don’t know about us, you think because you had such a strange upbringing that you’ve experienced it all,” Albus stood up, tired of waiting for his dad to come out and say what was on his mind. “James and I aren’t entirely like you,” he hissed, Harry blinked, slightly stunned that his quiet son had just shouted at him, he expected it of James but not Albus.
“So what are you saying? What have you both been keeping from me?” Harry leaned forward, Albus suddenly found himself in a corner, one that he had put himself in.
“Uh...” Albus hurriedly tried to think of a way out of this as Harry raised an eyebrow, waiting.
**Pray for your sons and your daughters-

Right or wrong.
First off, we\'ll dance when we dance.
The last one we fault.

“Merlin,” Harry breathed, staring at his son in disbelief and amazement. It was slowly dawning on him exactly what Albus had laid out.
“It happened a long time ago, both Scorpius and I kept an eye on him afterwards. I think he was too scared to try it again,” Albus explained.
“I don’t know what to do now,” Harry murmured, not imagining that one of his own family could do something like what James had done. “But you’re still...”
“Yes dad, I’m still...” Albus trailed off, blushing.
“I don’t know what to do about him now,” Harry breathed, standing up and walking around the couch, looking up to the ancient hallway that had housed countless generations of Blacks.
“I don’t know what to do either...you mean, you’re not mad about me being involved with a Malfoy?” It dawned on Albus that Harry had taken that part very well.
“Albus, that would be hypocritical, on top of everything else, I could care less who you see so long as you’re not stupid about it,” Harry answered, Albus blinked at what his father had just said.
“Hypocritical?” He pointed out, Harry shrugged.
“I don’t see any reason to hide why your mother and I got a divorce, Draco and I had a long standing relationship and she didn’t agree with it. She left me soon after she had Lily,” he answered, looking to Albus.
“So that’s why you guys never said why you divorced,” Albus looked away.
“Yeah well, Draco left me long before she did. Seems like everyone does that eventually,” Harry shook his head and went on to the kitchen, Albus followed him.
“Come on dad, you’re Harry Potter, anybody would love to be with you,” Albus smirked, crossing his arms.
“But few want to stick around, I’m surprised Draco even talked to me but he loves his son a lot and he has deeper secrets than I can imagine,” Harry shook his head.
“It’s alright dad, I won’t tell anyone if you don’t,” Albus smirked, Harry returned his smile.
**Foresee her.
That\'s what we\'ve done with your head.
You\'re begging for papa.
We\'re safer but.
We wash our hands in death.
End me.
When we fall.**
Lily woke up at her mom’s house in her beige and light pink diamond patterned bed with matching curtains and pj’s. She felt tired but at the same content to just lay here for a while. Her mom walked in with soup and grilled cheese for supper and asked her how she was doing. It felt like a hollow inquiry, like she didn’t really care if she was fine or not. Lily shook those horrible thoughts out of her head, her mother loved her just like everyone else in her family. She slowly sat up and started eating. Her mother was soon downstairs, probably cleaning or doing something else to keep herself busy. As she did every day.
“Hey doll, how you feeling?” Albus walked in to her room a few hours later. She was reading a book with the sunshine falling in on her, she reminded him of someone much older than she was. She smiled up at him softly.
“Fine, better. How long do you think I’ll be in bed for?” She asked, Albus shrugged, sitting on her bed.
“The healers said that you were making excellent progress so it can’t be for too much longer,” he murmured, she nodded, looking down on her book.
“Can I live with you?” She asked, her voice barely above a whisper, he frowned, leaning close to her.
“What what do you mean?” He asked.
“When you graduate and move out next year...can I live with you? I don’t want to keep dealing with mom and dad. Not with out you,” she said the last part in barely a whisper, Albus took a deep breathe and looked around her room that was always redecorated each year but it never reflected her personality. It was always professionally done with the latest trends in mind but it never looked like anything a little girl grew up in or even really lived in.
“I don’t know if mom and dad will like that,” Albus answered finally, she nodded, going back to her book.
“We’ll see,” she said simply and Albus had a sinking feeling that even he didn’t really know his sister at all.
**He\'ll go.
Feel it grow.
We may not be the ones.
Feel it go.
Feel like we know.**
Scorpius froze as he was passing by his father’s office. Something was off, he could feel it but he didn’t know exactly what it was. He leaned back against the wall and silently cast a spell to eavesdrop and the sounds that rushed to his ear made him blush instantly. He found himself stumbling down the hall and ending up in a deserted parlor when Albus appeared before him.
“What’s wrong?” Albus asked, instantly concerned.
“I think your dad’s here,” he said, Albus’ eyes widened, shocked.
“Why would he be here?” He asked.
“I don’t know but it sounds hot. I’m getting a hard on just from the sounds,” Scorpius gave him an impish grin.
“You’re lying,” Albus shook his head, Scorpius shrugged and sat down.
“If I’m lying then go up to my dad’s office and cast a reveal spell to really see what they’re doing,” he smirked.
“I have no clue how to do something like that.”
“Oh, that’s easy, here I’ll teach you and then you can see exactly what they’re doing and I can come with you, you know to supervise,” Scorpius stood back up and started for the door, Albus followed.
**We move around.
We\'ll pay.
We protest.
We\'ll pawn off war.
We protest.**
Draco moaned, letting his head fall back as Harry circled him once, looking him over. He grabbed long blonde hair and bent down to look into Draco’s face.
“Had enough?” He breathed, he couldn’t take his eyes off of that face, he had dreamed and fantasized about that face since he had hit 14 and discovered that boys were better than girls.
“Never,” Draco panted, his hands tied above him as he knelt before his desk.
“That’s what I like to hear,” Harry smirked, taking a step back as Draco dropped his head forward. He pulled back and let the whip fly it snapped loudly against ivory muscles and Draco groaned as blood started to swell up from the criss-crossed wounds down his back, he had missed that feeling with an alarming certainty.
“So, we should make a routine out of this, just so you don’t kill yourself,” Harry pointed out, leaning against his desk, scrutinizing his handiwork.
“I was getting close there,” Draco admitted, lifting himself up slightly.
“I would suggest that you not to use something that damages you so much, whatever happened to that dagger where the wound closes after you take it out,” Harry crossed his arms, showing off bulging, well maintained muscles barely covered by a white collared shirt.
“I’m not the one who goes after dragons,” Draco chuckled, squirming against his bonds. “And it got monotonous, I needed more.”
“It’s the thrill of the chase, the chance at getting that close to death all the time. It’s a living,” Harry shrugged, walking forward to look Draco in the eye.
“Of course, all psychotic, masochistic bastards need that to put bread on the table,” Draco gave him that trademark smirk.
“So, after all these years, growing up...watching our kids slowly march towards adulthood...” Harry trailed off.
“What happens after the long war of parenthood slacks off? You find out that you have extra time on your hands. I hear your eldest is making a name for himself doing what you do,” Draco slowly got to his feet.
“James and I aren’t on the best of terms right now. Frankly he’s lucky that he’s a fast learner,” Harry looked away from the other.
“Sometimes we all have to deal with mistakes. One of them would be letting you do whatever the fuck you wanted,” Draco kept that smirk firmly in place.
“Another would be not listening to you,” Harry admitted.
“And finally leaving you,” Draco finally told him, Harry looked him in the eye.
“It would never work,” Harry shook his head.
“Could never...not a chance,” Draco rolled his eyes.
“But has that ever really stopped us?” Harry pointed out.
“Once the school year is over I’ll resign at Hogwarts...we could go check out this mountain I heard this rare dragon kept his lair,” Draco offered.
“I think you’re on to something there,” Harry smirked up at him.

Lily stood in the rain, her arms wrapped around her as she heard the door slam behind her. She took a deep breathe and looked up at her brother. He smiled down on her and looked out on the pouring rain.
“You’ll get sick if you stay out here,” he told her.
“I don’t really care and you know it,” she replied.
“Are you coming to my graduation?” He asked.
“Are you going to let me live with you and your boyfriend?”
“After the crazy year I’ve had, I think anything is possible,” he told her, opening the door for her.
“Look at it this way, at least you’ll have someone to cover for you when mom comes over,” she took a step into the house.
“Did I ever tell you that you’re my favorite sister?”
“I’m you’re only sister, dork,” she laughed, walking through to the front of the house.
“Albus, may I speak to you?” Ginny’s voice stopped them in their tracks.
“Yeah mom?” Albus turned to look at her, she held up a piece of paper.
“Are you really living with Scorpius Malfoy?” Ginny had the lease to the flat they had just signed and was scheduled to move in as soon as they were graduated.
“Where did you get that? Have you been snooping through my stuff?” Albus growled at her.
“Answer the question Albus Severus Potter,” she hissed, glaring up at him.
“He’s 17 now mom, he can do whatever he wants,” Lily spoke up behind them.
“You are no-” Ginny started.
“No. For once somebody is saying no to you, mother,” Lily got in front of Albus.
“Go up to your room, this doesn’t concern you Lily,” Ginny shouted at her.
“No! It does concern me because I am his sister. For once just let us do what we want to. We aren’t your little pawns. Just because we didn’t turn out exactly like you wanted us to, are you going to throw us out of your lives just like you did dad?” Lily shouted back.
“You do not talk to your mother this way,” Ginny growled back.
“You’re right, brainwashed playthings that carry out your every wish doesn’t talk back. You know what? I won’t take it anymore! I almost died a year ago and you don’t give a shit about that! Albus was the only one who actually got out of bed to help me, who cared about me. You can just stay in your perfect little home with your perfect little muggle friends and forget you ever had us. Maybe you can find some perfect little muggle husband to complete your every wish,” Lily sucked in a deep breathe, Ginny’s mouth was hanging open along with Albus’.
“I’m not going to live with you anymore,” she told her mom before turning and going up to her room. Ginny blinked then looked up at Albus.
“Don’t you look at me like I had something to do with this. I’m going to go get my stuff...I guess see you at graduation,” Albus booked it up to his own room as Lily managed to get her stuff and floo back to school, Albus following her.
