Hermione Malfoy sat at the desk in Draco’s study. She was drafting a letter to her husband.
Hello Dearest,
Halloween has come to the Manor once more. The decorations are all in place. The elves have prepared a wonderful buffet for the Ball. I wish you could see the ballroom. Holly and Molly have out done themselves. They really are very talented young women.
We miss you terribly. The girls kept saying how strange it was that you would not be here this year. They will graduate Hogwarts in the spring. Minerva wanted them both to be Heads this year but there is only one Head girl position and two twins so the honor went to Lilly. The girls actually seemed to be relived about it. I think they just want to have fun this year.
Holly is going to major in Potions next year at Uni. She is apprenticing with Severus. I never thought I would I would see your Godfather take an apprentice. Holly just strolled up to him one day last summer in the garden and said, “I have decided to major in Potions. Can you suggest a Master for my apprenticeship?” She truly is Slytherin to the core. She played him perfectly. Every Master he suggested she shot down. Finally he just gave up and told her to be on time every Tuesday and Thursday after dinner.
Molly has decided on Transfiguration after graduation. Minerva is so proud of her. Molly is still seeing Al Potter. I can see you rolling your eyes at that tidbit. You might as well prepare yourself for them to get married. It could be worse you know, she could have chosen Sage Zabini. I’d have hexed that playboy myself.
Your Mother is doing well. I think she and Severus are an item. That’s good though. They need each other. He actually smiles quite a bit if she is in the room. And she isn’t so melancholy now that he is staying here.
The guests will be here soon love. I have go finish getting ready. I love you and miss you. It’s my first holiday without you and I’m still adjusting. I know you will be waiting on me in the Summerlands. Forgive me if I take my time getting there but there is still so much to do here.

Hermione put the letter on the middle of the desk just as her two daughters stepped into the room followed by Narcissa. Each with a letter of their own. All the ladies left the parchments in a neat stack. And turned to make their way to the entry hall to greet the guests. As the witches got to the door leading out a strong gust of blew through the open window and fluttered the stack. Turning all four ladies saw Draco standing behind the desk with the letters in his pale hand.
“I love you all. And Mia, take all the time you want I’ll be waiting.” He said as he slowly faded from view.
