New Opportunities
A/N: I am unable to directly contact melissophobia (don't ask why, I have no idea what the problem is… I just don't get computers) so I will say it here and hope there will be no problems. I am going to write my story using some of the ideas found in the story "In Plain Sight" but I am NOT going to copy anything!!! I really liked the story and really wanted to do the right thing and tell the author that I was inspired by it. I hope it's enough…. Don't sue me!!!!!!
Now back to story.

Several months later found Violet and Harry on their way to "Insomnia", the hottest Night club in the region. They were thinking that maybe they could make some money by selling their lyrics to the people performing there.
They both had added several years to their appearance and changed the most obvious characteristics in them, like the color of their eyes and the length of their hair as well as concealing their lightning shaped scars.
The guards at the door didn't even ask for ID, they simply let the two handsome young adults in.
Inside the club there was a spacious dancing floor that reached all the way back to a nice sized stage where a band was currently playing. Around the dancing floor stood small round tables and to their right was a long bar with two bartenders working hard to keep with the customers demands.
"This place looks really promising; we can always ask if they need waiters or bartenders, if the lyrics don't sell too well" Violet commented, watching as said workers were inundated by the demands of the crowd.
"You are definitely right Vi, this place is packed, and its still relatively early, we will definitely find some work here!"
Harrys' exclamation caught the attention of one of the passing waiters.
"If you are looking for jobs the manager is in the back office. I can show you the way, if you want."
Exchanging a brief look the twins hurried to follow the retreating back. They soon found themselves in front of a solid wooden door. After a firm knock on the door, the waiter excused himself and returned to the main area of the club.
The twins stood there for a moment feeling quite lost, till they heard a strong, if somewhat muffled, voice calling them to come in.
Harry opened the door and stepped into a comfortable looking office. In the back, seating behind a magnificently carved desk, was who they assumed was the manager of "Insomnia". They were surprised to find a young woman, around the age of 25, looking at them with slight interest while moving aside several papers that littered her desk.
"Please, have a seat. My name is Karen and I am the current manager of this establishment. What may I help you with?"
Violet noted absentmindedly that the woman's' voice, although very pleasant, had a hard edge to it, as if this Karen was used to being in charge and giving out orders.
"Hmm… well, my sister and I were wondering if maybe you had a job we can apply to. We can work as waiters or bartenders, even if we never worked as either, well, not officially, but I guess servingAuntandUnclemaycountforsomethingandwebothlearnveryfastand-" Violet put an abrupt stop to her brothers' rambling by stepping quite forcefully on his fut.
While engaging in a fierce glaring contest, the brothers were startled to hear a bell like laughter ring thru the office. Looking up they watched in amazement as the manager toppled off her chair.
Wiping the tears that gathered in the corners of her eyes, Karen righted herself and turned back to the two.
"First of all, what are your names and how old are you?"
Exchanging another quick glance, Violet answered "we are both 21 years old. My name is Lillian and my brothers' name is James."
"Well Lillian and James, age 21. Today is your lucky day; we recently lost one of our bartenders and I got a request from several waiters to find more help. So what do you say about a weeks' trial. You can try the two positions and the one that suits you the best, and indeed if you do the work well, you can have the jobs. Do you think you can manage this arrangement? I need your answer now because it's HELL out there and you haven’t even seen it at the worst of hours."
The twins, albeit a little stunt by their good fortune, were quick to agree, thinking 'This is too good to be true!'
And how right they were…

A/N: I know I may be crossing the line of a "too mature traits for a too young childe", but what can I do? Hogwarts takes them o so young… now if I had till they were thirteen, well then I could have had them mature gradually, if a little faster then normal, but alas, this is what I have to work with, so just work with me, OK? Let's say they had to mature so much faster because of the abuse and their wish to get the hell out of that house.
