Make You See My Love

Hermione took a deep breath and looked at the three girls that have become her best friends. Luna Lovegood who seems to be able to see into the depth of a person’s soul and see the good within them. Pansy Parkinson who to everyone is a complete bitch and takes pride in the fact but when it came down to it doesn’t let the prejudice of her house control who she is friends with. And then there was Ginny Weasley who has been her best friend since second year who never let anything scare her off. They all nodded to her letting her know they were there to support her and then she looked at the Headmaster and knew she needed to tell him the complete truth. She knew he wouldn’t judge her but sometimes she still gets worried that somehow someone would figure out a way to get her kicked out of school, that would kill her.

“Ok it happened close to the end of my third year. You see my third year I was given a time turner so that I could take extra classes and no one else knew except the teachers. The same year a man accused of murder escaped Azkaban and many thought that he was after my best friend Harry and that very same year you hired someone to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts.” She held up her hand to stop his question from coming. “ I know your confused with my babbling but give me a moment to get my thoughts together. Cause I can’t tell you to much without giving you to many ideas of the future.”

She took a deep breath and became lost in thought wondering just how much to tell him. She didn’t want to tell him too much for fear he might want to stop certain things from happening. However he wasn’t the type to change things for his benefit to begin with. She just didn’t want him to try and stop her from her fate because of what happened. It’s not that she enjoyed being what she was because she would do anything to not have to go through the painful transformations every month but would the girls still want to be her friend if he tries to change things?

“Everyone thought that the man that escaped from Azkaban was after Harry and no one knew that the person you hired to be our DADA teacher was a werewolf and the convict's friend. Moony hid his condition very well only he didn’t show up for classes after the full moon and you had our Potions Master fill in a couple times. One of those times he made us do an essay on the difference between an Animagus and a Werewolf. Me being an overachiever as some would say did more research then was necessary and put the pieces together then I kept my mouth shut. Moony was our best teacher so far. Our first year we had a man possessed by a Dark Lord and our second year we had a complete fraud for a teacher. So having Moony teaching us was refreshing he knew what he was doing and we had fun why ruin that. The entire year we had sightings reported on seeing Padfoot close to Hogwarts and Dementors flying around looking for him but he was never caught it was like he was a ghost of something. We found out that he was Harry’s godfather and that rumor had it that he had joined You Know Who and that he wanted revenge on Harry because You Know Who fell when he tried to kill Harry. So now we get to the best part of the story. We were outside on the grounds when Ron’s pet rat Scabbers bit him and took off and of course Ron chased after him. When he caught him he was under the Whomping Willow tree outside. Harry and I tried to warn him but at the same time he was trying to warn us that a great big black dog was behind us looking like he was going to attack us. Instead he dragged Ron and Scabbers into the hole under the tree. We followed of course only to find that the dog was actually Padfoot in animagus form. Then Moony arrived and for a few minutes we thought our lives were over. But they explain to us what really happened twelve years before and that Wormtail was actually the one that betrayed Harry’s parents and that he was hiding in his animagus form as Ron’s pet rat then they changed him back to his human form. We then decided that instead of allowing them to kill him like they wanted to that we would bring him back here for the dementors to have. Only we didn’t realize it was a full moon night and Moony changed right in front of us and Wormtail took the opportunity to get away the bastard. Moony and Padfoot began fighting and when he got Padfoot off him he turned on Harry who was only trying to help Padfoot and bit him.”

Hermione took this opportunity to take a breath and casted her eyes to the floor in shame only to be drawn back by Dumbledore.

“Ok so how is it that if Harry was the one that was bitten that you’re the werewolf Ms. Granger?”

Looking confused by her story, she stood up and started pacing around in his office looking at some of the objects he had some she hadn’t seen before. She then mumbled something under her breath.

“What was that? I didn’t hear you Ms. Granger.” He looked at her curiously waiting for her reply.

“I said I used my time turner to go back to that moment and then called the Werewolf my direction to keep him from hurting Harry. Only thing is I didn’t count on him chasing me and I got trapped against a tree. So instead of Harry being bitten like he should have been I took the bite upon myself. I. Am. A. Werewolf.”

“I see.” Was his only reply but the look on his face spoke volumes. It spoke of pity. “But why would you do that to yourself?” He said.

“Because Harry had the weight of the world on his shoulders and I don’t think he could bare having to fight with being a Werewolf as well. Besides who cares about the Know-It-All bookworm who spends her days in the library doing her homework. Harry is looked at as the savior of the Wizarding World and we all know how they look at werewolves. I couldn’t let that happen to him. I’m a muggleborn witch if I couldn’t get a job doing what I want in this world I can sure as hell get one out in the muggle world. I want to be a teacher and I can do that in the muggle world just as easily. That’s why I did what I did Headmaster and I would never change what I did for anything.”

She stood there in front of one of his many bookcases and looked at the man she thought of as a grandfather and waited patiently for his reply, but none came. Instead he stood up and walked around his desk and approached her looking at her as if he was looking at her for the first time since she walked into his office. He reached up and wiped a tear from her eye that she didn’t know had even fallen and then pulled her into a hug.

“ That was a very Gryffindor thing to do Ms. Granger and I hope that this Harry boy understands exactly what you did for him and appreciates it.” He said sincerely

“Actually we no longer talk to each other. He can’t look at me without thinking about what I did and he feels guilty for it but I won’t apologize for saving his life. But it’s ok I have Ginny, Luna and Pansy and that’s all I really need right?” She replied sadly back but never moving away.

He continued to hold her and even rubbed her back before letting her go. He stepped back and looked at her.

“So after you were bitten what did Professor Lupin do?”

She stood there in shock, she couldn’t remember telling him that it was Professor Lupin that was called Moony and Sirius that was Padfoot. As a matter a fact she didn’t say their real names at all. When she looked at him she had seen a slight twinkle in his eye.

“How did you know I was talking about Remus Lupin?”

“My dear I have known the Marauders since the day they stepped into this school. I’ve even heard them talking amongst themselves and calling themselves by their nicknames.” He replied with an amused attitude.

“Well he found out what he did and he resigned the next day. He said he wouldn’t be able to look at me and not know that he was the reason for my infliction.” She replied sadly.

“Well how did you get through your first transformation?” He looked at her again with curiosity.

“ You made him stay with me for it. Talk me through it and help me to get use to it and what to do that kind of stuff. But after my fourth transformation he felt that I was good to go and left me to it. Now when he see’s me he tries to avoid me as much as possible. I mean he talks to me politely from time to time but you can still see it in his eyes the sadness he feels for what happened.”

She took a cup of tea that he handed her and she took a sip before continuing.

“Of course I can’t blame him for trying to avoid me. He’s an Alpha and if he gets around me…” She paused and began blushing before continuing on. “ He probably doesn’t want to force himself on me in wolf form if you know what I mean.”

She looked at the headmaster pointedly hoping beyond hope that he did cause she didn’t want to have to explain the mating rituals between wolves. She noticed that he to blushed and she smiled at how uncomfortable he was discussing it.

“ Well since you’re here and we don’t know how long your going to be here do you want to tell Mr. Lupin now your situation? You don’t have to tell him your story but let him know that you’re in the same way as he is.” He looked at the other girls and then to Hermione.

“ Just give me some time and I’ll tell him. I don’t want to just walk up and say guess what I’m a werewolf to. It would be one embarrassing for him and two it would be awkward for me as well as him. I’ll tell him before the next full moon I promise.”

“Well then now that he have that taken care of what are we going to do with you ladies? Were you all Gryffindor?”

Pansy snorted, “Hardly, I’m a Slytherin, and Luna is a Ravenclaw. Ginny and Hermione are the Gryffindor’s in this little group.”

He looked around as he replied, “Well you have two options you can go to your own house and be split up or you can go to the houses you choose.”

At this point both Luna and Pansy replied. “Gryffindor, Slytherin.”

The girls looked at each other and smiled “Sorry” they both said in unison then laughed.

Ginny then stepped in and replied. “Ok so it looks like Luna wants to be in Gryffindor which is cool cause honestly she has more Gryffindor and Ravenclaw in her then anything. And Pansy wants to stay in Slytherin.” She finished with a smile.

“Yes thank you Ms. Weasley. I now understand what was said. Ok so you three are Gryffindor and you will be in Slytherin. Now I’ll introduce you tonight before dinner and what have you on supplies?”

“Well I’m sure we all have our wands, but we don’t have the books of this time we have them from our own time. And we have clothes but not enough and we don’t have our uniforms.”

“Well then I’ll send you with Professor McGonagall with you to Diagon Alley and help you get clothes and other supplies that young beautiful girls need. Just one second.”

He walks over to the fire and threw some floo powder in and for a minute he spoke quietly to someone on the other side. When he was done he walked back over to the girls and looked at them.
“Well that should do it then. I told Minerva that you two were sisters.” He pointed to Hermione and Ginny and then looked and Luna and Pansy. “And I told that the four of you are cousins. Your last names are Granger.” He pointed and Ginny and Hermione “Perkins” He pointed at Pansy “And you will be Luna Cuthbert. That way is she asks you any questions you’ll know.”

There was a knock at the door and a few seconds later Minerva McGonagall walked in with a huge smile on her face. The girls greeted her by shaking hands and introducing themselves to her and started to walk out the door. But before Hermione exited she turned to the Headmaster and asked one last question.

"Sir where will I be transforming now since Remus is using the Shreiking Shack?"

He looked at her long in thought. "Well I would say it should be ok for you to do it in the Shack as well but with him being an Alpha Male. It might be best if you did it somewhere else. Give me a week and I'll let you know Ms. Granger."

"Ok. Thank you Headmaster for everything." She said as she exited his office to catch up with the others.
