Chapter 4
Star Gazer
Chapter 4
Hermione was as giddy as a child in a candy shop. Her ship STAR GAZER was back and better than ever. She turned and gave her future brother-in-law a huge hug.
“Oh Han! It’s beautiful! Thank you!” she squealed.
“You’re welcome Hermione. Of course, Lando and Talon helped too.” Han laughed as he returned her hug.
“I’ll tell them in person. Both with be here in a few weeks.” she smiled.
“Wow Mione. The GAZER looks better than ever.” Harry said as he looked the ship over.
“She flies better than before. Talon added a turbo booster to your engines. We also added state of the art weapons and deflector shields.” Han added.
“So, when are you going to take me on a test run?” Luke teased as he draped his arm around Hermione’s shoulders.
“After Ron’s ceremony.” Hermione smiled.

Lucius expertly landed the shuttle half a day’s walk from the academy. He had already instructed the storm troopers to remain on the shuttle unless he called them. He grabbed a few things before he exited the shuttle.
‘Time to kidnap a Jedi.’ Lucius thought as he began his hike through the jungle.

Hermione, Mara, Harry, and Severus smiled as Ron rose to his feet. Luke draped the brown Jedi robe over Ron’s shoulders. He then picked up a black case and faced Ron again.
“Jedi Knight Ronald Weasley, I proudly welcome you into the Order of the Jedi.” Luke smiled as he opened the case.
Ron gingerly lifted his lightsaber out of the case. With an encouraging nod from Luke, Ron ignited his saber. His blade was a vibrant blue. He disengaged his saber and bowed to Luke.
“Thank you Master Skywalker.” Ron said as he stood up straight.
Hermione and Harry rushed to him and hugged their friend. “Your parents will be so proud of you.” Hermione beamed.
“She’s right. So, are you returning to Earth?” Harry asked.
“No. I have decided to remain here. Luke said I can teach the younger students.” Ron answered.
Severus sighed and quietly walked away. He moved through the courtyard, heading for a monument. Mara had told him it was built in memory of the eight Jedi that had died when the Death Eaters had attacked.
“You alright?”
“Not really.” Severus sighed as he sat on the bench.
“What’s wrong?” Mara asked as she sat beside him.
“Just seeing those three. Sometimes I wonder what I would have become if I had friends like that.” he answered.
“You didn’t have friends?” she questioned.
“No. I guess I’m a bit jealous of how close they are.” he replied.
“I know the feeling. I didn’t have friends till Aunt Angel and Uncle Garrett found me.” At his confused look, she continued. “I was taken from my parents by the emperor when I was 5.
“He trained me to be his personal assassin. I was found by Hermione’s parents when I was 15. That’s when I joined the rebellion. Hermione was 8 at the time. They had gone to visit Alderaan.
“When Hermione went to Hogwarts, Aunt Angel and Uncle Garrett would fight. When she would return for the summers, they returned to Earth. She first met Luke when she was 12. After Alderaan was destroyed, Aunt Angel and Uncle Garrett had taken Hermione with them to check on Leia here on Yavin IV.” Mara explained.
“That’s when they fell in love? When she was 12?” he inquired.
“Oh no. That happened once the emperor was killed. He was 23 and Hermione was 16. The year after her parents were killed. That was the year of the Battle of Endor.” she stated.
“There you two are.” Hermione smiled as she and Luke approached them.
“We were heading inside for dinner. You two coming?” Luke asked.
“I think I’ll pass. I’ll just have something brought to my room.” Severus replied.
“You alright Severus?” Hermione questioned worriedly.
“I’m fine Hermione, I just want to be alone for a little while.” Severus said.
“I’ll walk you to your room.” Mara offered.
Luke and Hermione smiled as they watched the two walk away. “What do you think love?” Hermione grinned.
“I think it’s going to be interesting.” he chuckled.

Lucius hid in the shadows as he watched Severus and Mara walk past him. ‘Traitor. Maybe I should kill him first for good measure.’ he thought.
Lucius quickly turned down another hallway. He needed to find and observe Hermione before he made a move on Severus.
‘She has to be here somewhere.’ he growled as he turned down yet another hallway.

Hermione stood on her and Luke’s balcony. Luke was sound asleep in bed. For the past two weeks she had felt something different about herself. She had her suspicions and would know for sure in the morning.
“Hermione, what’s wrong?” Luke asked as he moved beside her.
“Nothing. I just couldn’t sleep.” Hermione replied.
Luke pulled her into his arms and softly kissed her. Hermione sighed and returned the kiss. He swept her into his arms and carried her back to bed.
“What do you want Hermione?”
“Make love to me Luke.”
Softly he kissed her once more. Hermione tangled her fingers in his hair as Luke used the Force to remove their nightclothes. The couple quickly got lost in their own little world of passion.

“Nooo!” Leia gasped as she sat up in bed, covered in sweat.
“Leia? What is it?” Han demanded worriedly as he sat up quickly.
“Han, I…I just saw…Mara being killed.” Leia answered.
“What?” Han demanded.
“She was on Yavin IV. She and a man with black hair were kissing. Then a man with platinum blonde hair entered the room. He pulled a blaster and shot them both.” she gasped.
“I’ll contact Luke first thing in the morning. If I tried now, he wouldn’t hear it. You know how your brother is once he’s asleep. He’s dead to the world.” he said.
“You promise?” she asked.
“I promise my love. Now, let’s go back to sleep.” he nodded.
Han pulled her into his arms as they laid back down. Within moments, his wife was sound asleep once more. Han however, was unable to fall back asleep. Carefully, he climbed out of bed and got dressed. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t shake the ominous feeling that washed over him. He had to get to Yavin IV immediately.
