Chapter 3
‘thoughts’
/mindtalk/
“talk”
“Headmaster?”
“Yes Zohra?”
“May I ask a few things from you?”
“Of course, child,” said Albus – his eyes twinkling like mad.
“Can we not awake my brother until after the feast? I don’t think I want to die right now.”
“Now Zohra, don’t worry. I will make it clear that he is not to harm you. After all, it wasn’t your fault he fainted. It’s not like you planned it or something.”
“That’s not what he’s gonna think,” Zohra muttered to herself. However, somebody must have heard her, because she heard a snicker to her left. In a much louder voice she said, “Right. Also where am I to eat for tonight I mean, it seems like I belong to both Slytherin and Gryffindor and where in the world am I going to sleep too.”
“For now, I suppose you should sit at the Head Table next to your brother.” At that, Zohra winced. She knew it wasn’t going to be pretty when he woke up. “As for your sleeping arrangements, that shall be discussed after dinner in my office with the rest of the staff. Is that okay with you?”
“Sure, Headmaster.” She said quietly to herself but not quietly enough because again someone laughed, “As long as you restrain him and give me a head start to the door, all is well. But if you don’t…I’m dead. Oh, God, save me ‘cause I think the Headmaster just lost his head.”
As Zohra walked to the head table with Storm following her, she looked like a woman on the way to her doom.
“Poor girl. I would not want to be on Severus’ bad side either.” McGonagall stared at the miserable girl and shook her head – glad she wasn’t her.

Of course, the Headmaster did not take Zohra’s warning to heart, and allowed Severus to awaken without the proper restraints.
As soon as Severus awoke, and realized that he was about to sit in front of sister, he exploded. And not one student missed the wince Zohra displayed on her pretty face. She looked as if she would like to run away and hide to be never seen again. The students knew exactly how she felt. Especially Neville.
“ZOHRA VENUS SNAPE! YOU ARE IN SO MUCH TROUBLE! I AM GOING TO TEAR YOUR…” Severus was cut off by the Headmaster’s voice.
“Now, Severus, there is no need for that. It was not Zohra’s fault that the preceding events occurred.”
“But, Headmaster…You don’t know my sister. She…”
“No, Severus. Leave her be so we may commence with the Welcoming Feast.”
“Of course, Headmaster,” said Severus begrudgingly. To Zohra he whispered, “When this is over, you are going to get a piece of my mind so large, the detentions I give you will seem like a piece of cake.”
“But, Brother…That isn’t fair!” Zohra whined.
“I don’t care, you insolent child. I am older. You can do nothing about it.”
“Are you sure, because…” She was cut off by Severus.
“Don’t. Even. Think about it.” Severus said through gritted teeth.
By the time their conversation was finished, they heard the Headmaster announce the feast.
‘It’s going to be a very, very looooonnngggg night,’ thought Zohra tiredly while feeding Storm some of the delicious mouth watering veal. ‘Might as well enjoy this wonderful meal, because by the time tomorrow comes, I might not have to ability to eat.
*****************************
After dinner, all the professors, and Zohra went to the Headmaster’s office. After much arguing, mostly between Zohra and Severus, it was decided that for the first week, Zohra would have her own room. This would allow her to mingle with both of her houses without any of the school rivalry – despite that having mostly dwindled down. After the week was up – in which she would have hopefully seen both houses’ interior and made friends – she would sleep in each house for one week each for the rest of the year; however she would have both passwords and would be able to access any house dorm whenever she pleased. For the meals taken in the Great hall, however, Zohra would have to sit at the Head Table unless she wanted otherwise.
This arrangement delighted Zohra and the other professors – well, all except Severus – to no end. When the meeting was finished, Zohra was led to her room between both of her houses’ common rooms. It was in the most beautiful part of the castle. There were harmless sensual flowers and vines growing on either side of the door. There were paintings as well. Within the paintings were magically creatures of all kinds. The one guarding her door was quite unusual though. The painting was of a forest full of snow, and a glowing white flaming fox in the center.
“Hello, little one,” said the fox in a feminine voice filled with the knowledge accrued to the wise. “My name is Kaya. What is the password you have chosen?”
Zohra smiled at the painting, and Severus just looked on in exasperation. “Your name means pure doesn’t it?”
“Indeed it does, little one. May I inquire you name and that of your elder’s?”
“Of course. My name is Zohra, and this is my brother, Severus.”
“Ahh…I have been waiting for you, little one. This room was created especially for you to show that should you ever need to come, you are always welcome. You as well as your mate.”
Zohra blushed at that comment, and Severus just looked on in cold indifference. He JUST wanted to get inside so he could give his sister dearest the torture that was coming to her.
“Thanks,” Zohra said shyly. “I think I want my password to be…fire of the snow. Is that okay?”
“Of course, dear. You may both enter. If you have anything to ask me, anything at all, don’t hesitate to ask, little one. I may have the answers you need.” She spoke her words as if she knew something she wasn’t willing to quite yet part with.
‘Kaya seems much like Fawkes and the Headmaster. How peculiar,’ thought Severus.
‘Now I will finally get my revenge. Be prepared, my little sister. Mawhahahahaha!’ An evil look appeared on his face. A look that went unnoticed by Zohra. She was in for it now.
