The Safe-House Plan

Harry was shaken awake by Twink at 8:00pm that evening. He got up and went to the loo. When he came back, Twink was putting potion bottles on a table.

"Master Harry will be needing these before the night is over. Master Harry must take this green one at 11:00pm. It will cut out the residual pain, and the low level pain that will come first, so the only thing that Master Harry will feel is when the wings come through the skin of Master Harry's back." Twink explained. "At 12:17am, Master Harry must take a mouthful of this purple one to lessen the pain from the headache that will start at 12:20am."

"What are the rest for?" Asked Harry, because besides the purple and green ones, there were also 3 pink bottles, 2 blue bottles, and 1 clear bottle. The clear one had a dropper in it.

"Master Harry will remember what those are for tomorrow." Twink said.

"What do you mean?" Harry asked.

"Inherited Memories, Master Harry. It is one of the Bivnara's gifts." Twink explained.

"Who's memories?" Harry was perplexed.

"All previous Bivnara in the Potter line, and the memories of Master James and Mistress Lily." Twink explained.ss

"I'll get my parents memories?!?!" Harry exclaimed.

"It only happens to Bivnara who loose their parents before hatching."

"What do you mean hatching?"

"That is what it is called when a Bivnara gets their wings."

"Oh." Harry's stomach grumbled. "Do you think that I could get something to eat. I missed supper, you know."

Suddenly, Twink starts hitting her head on the wall.

Harry rushes over, and tells Twink that she was not allowed to bang her head on the wall anymore. Then, he asked why she had to do that in the first place.

"Directly conflicting orders makes Twink confused." Twink explained.

"What is confusing about me asking for food?" Harry asked.

"Master James said that due to the fact that sprouting wings causes nausia, that Master Harry is to skip dinner, and not eat anything until August 1."

"Oh. Thanks for waking me up, Twink." Harry said.

"Master James told Twink to wake Master Harry up at 8:00 so that Master Harry had plenty of time to get Master Harry's shirt off." Twink explained.

"I think he meant that I would have enough time to get everything ready. I'll call you if I need you, alright Twink?"

"Yes, Master Harry, sir." Twink popped out.

Harry walked over to the dresser and picked up the box with all the gifts in it. Then he walked back over to the bed, climbed onto it, and sat down cross-legged in the middle with the box in front of him.

After unshrinking and opening the box, he dumped it out on the bed. Several wrapped presents fell out. He immediatly spotted the gift tag from WWW, and picked that one up first. He opened the box to find 3 Spell Card deck boxes, 1 pair of Extendable Ears, 1 box of Super Darkness Powder Pop Balls, 3 Fake Wands, a complete set of Skiving Snackboxes, a bag of Clone Creams, and a box of Evil Dark Lord Suckers.

Harry put those aside and picked up the next box. It was from Ron. He opened the box and found a Snitch, and a programable one at that. Professionel Quidditch players use them for training.

Harry quickly reached for the next box. Remus. He opened it to find a Muggle wallet. Next to the wallet was a piece of paper. Harry picked it up and looked at it. It was a note from Remus about the wallet.

Harry
I may have bought this wallet in a Muggle store but I took it to Professor Flitwick, and asked him to fix it a bit for you. The zippered coin section is now capable of holding up to 500 Gallions. The origionel wallet only had one, so Flitwick trippled it, so that you have a seperate pouch for Sickles and also for Knuts. He also made it so that the bulkiness does not show on the outside. He also made it water-resistant, heat-resistant, and low to mid-range spell-resistant. The twins told me that they were going to send you their new Spell Cards, so I had Flickwick make the card slots have a verbal release comand. The slots are numbered if you only want to remove one. I also had him multiply the card sheet by 20 so that you can carry all your Spell Cards with you. The comands are "Let Go of them All" or "Let Go of # _". The card slot with the plastic view has a spell on it that will help immensly after I see you on the ninth. That slot is for your apperating licence. The spell, once the card is in there, will be able to tell you if there is anyone around for either entrance or exit of the apperition before you do it. I'll explain how it works when I see you on the ninth.
Remus

Harry set the wallet aside as well, and picked up another box. Mad-Eye Moody. After opening the box, he found a Sneak-o-Scope, and a Foe Glass. Typical Moody.

Harry grabbed the next one. Hermione. She got him the usual organizer and two other books. "Spells Every Duellist Should Know", and "How To Win at Duelling Every Time; 1000 Tips from past Champions". Nice. What does it mean by Past Champions? I'll ask her when I see her.

The next one was from Mrs. Weasley. She sent more food. Three Mince Pies.

Harry called for Twink.

"Master Harry called, sir? What is Master Harry wanting from Twink?" Twink asked after poping into the room.

"Yes, Twink. Mrs. Weasley gave me three mince pies for my birthday. Could you do me a favor, and put those in the fridge for me, please?"

"Yes, sir, Master Harry, sir. What is a Fridge?" Harry laughed.

"A fridge is a large cabinet that is used to keep food cold." Harry explained. "After you put those away, could you bring me up a bottle of water, please. Thanks."

After Twink came back with his water, he took a swig then grabbed the next box. Tonks. She got him an Auror Standard Issue Wand Wrist Holster. It is spelled to resist both Accio Wand, and Expelliarus, and has a perminant Invisibility spell on it that activates when the wand is attached, so no one can see that that is where you keep your wand. She also got him a book on duelling. "Prank Charms that work in Duelling". I'm thinking that Tonks knew Sirius a little TOO well.

The next one was from Mr. Weasley. It was a book entitled "Protecting your Stuff; Charms used to Prevent Spell Interferience on Muggle Artifacts". Yes!!!! I can use my portable DVD player at Hogwart's!

He grabbed the next box, and checked the tag. Bill. When he opened it, there was a gold statue of a camel, and a note inside.

Harry
I found this in a tomb in Egypt, along with 20 others that are the same. Since Gringot's needs only one for the Museum, the rest were sold, so I got you one. It is a Security Statue. Hold it in both hands to set it. It will then recognize you as its owner. Put it on a table next to the door inside of any room that you want to protect. Every time that you enter the camel's teritory, you must pat its head twice to let it know that it was you that just walked in. If someone else walks in, they will get wrapped up like a mummy, stuck to the ceilling, and silenced. The whole room will blink red until you pat its head. Then, and only then, will the statue deactivate the spell keeping them stuck to the ceiling, and the silencing spell. The intruder will stay wrapped like a mummy so that you can call someone to take them away. I figured that with all of the enemies that you have, that you might aprieciate some home field advantage. Sorry about that. One of my coworkers is a muggleborn that is into American Football.
Bill

Harry set the camel aside and reached for the next box. Charley. When he opened the box, there was a giant egg inside!!!! Also inside the box was a book entitled "How to Raise and Train a Dragon" and a note.

Harry
One of the nesting mother Chinese Fireballs got into a fight and died last week. She had four eggs. Each of them got sent to foster parents for training. It takes 10 years for a Chinese Fireball to reach machurity. The egg should be ready to hatch by the second week of September, after that you will end up with a shadow for atleast 4 of those 10 years until it gets too big to walk down a hallway. The book will tell you everything else. Have fun with it, train it right, and you might get a second one.
Charley

Harry got off of the square bed, walked over to the round bed, and grabbed the biggest pillow. Then he walked into the common room and put the pillow down by the fire. Then he went back to the square bed and got the egg. He brought it into the common room, and set it on the pillow. He then went back into the bedroom to open the rest of his presents.

Harry climbed up onto the bed, and settled in. He then grabbed the next gift. He checked the tag. Ginny. It turned out to be the new Shield Guard. Spelled armor-plated arm guard with a verbal password-activated shield spell built in. This will help alot.

He quickly went through the rest, McGonagal's was a book entitled "Transfiguration Spells for the Duellist; What to Change and When", Snape gave him two books entitled "Potions used in Duelling; How to Make Them and When to Use Them", and "Spells for the Ocludist; Using Your Mind like a File Cabinet", and Dumbledore's was a book entitled "Redecorating Spells; When What You Get isn't What You Want", and the password and map to a seperate room in the Castle. I get my own room this year?

Finally he was at the last one. Harry checked the card. It was from Hagrid. Just as he was about to pull the box closer so that he could open it, the box started rocking on its own, and a muffled hissing could be heard.

'Let me out! Let me out! Pleassse, let me out! I don't like it in here.'

Harry quickly opened the box and found a hatchling King Cobra, probably only a week old.

'Hello. What isss your name?' Harry asked the cobra.

'You can talk to me?!?!?! I've never met an upright who could talk to me before, but then again, I have only met one other upright, and he wasss the one who put me in here. Can I come out now?'

'I'll let you out if you promissse not to bite me.'

'Cobra'sss only bite for protection and hunting. I have no reassson to bite you, and besssidesss, even if I did bite you, you wouldn't die becaussse I don't know how to ussse my venum yet.' The baby cobra slithered out of the box when Harry tipped it over.

'Who are you, and why did that other upright put me in there?' The cobra asked.

'My name isss Harry, and the other upright, whossse name is Hagrid, put you in there to sssend you to me. Today is my birthday, and uprightsss give other uprightsss thingsss on their birthday. Hagrid gave you to me. What isss you name?'

'I don't have one. My mother wasss going to give usss our namesss when ssshe came back from her hunting trip, but ssshe never came back. Then the one you call Hagrid came and took all of usss back to hisss nest and put usss in a box that we could sssee through. He fed usss, then he took the ressst and put them in another box and left with them. Then he came back, and put me in there, then I went to sssleep.'

'Can I give you a name?'

'Yesss, I would like that.'

'Are you a girl or a boy?'

'I am a girl.'

'How about Ssshasssta.'

'That one isss good.'

'Ok, from now on, your name is Ssshasssta.'

'Thanksss.'

'Anytime.'

Harry put his left hand down by Shasta, and she curled herself around his wrist.

'Harry?'

'What is it, Ssshasssta?'

'I'm hungry.'

'What do you want to eat?'

'Blood and tail of moussse, please.' Harry gaged.

'Why don't we sssee if you like sssausssage and go from there, alright?'

'What isss sssausssage?'

'Sssausssage is meat that is rolled up to look like a log.'

'Oh. Isss it good?'

'It isss very good.'

'I would like to try some sssaussage, pleassse.'

'Ok.'

Harry called for Twink.

"Master Harry called, sir? What is Master Harry wanting from Twink?" Twink asked after poping into the room.

"Yes, Twink. One of my presents turned out to be a snake, and now she is hungry. I was wondering if you could bring up a couple of sausages for her?"

"As long as Master Harry promises that the sausage is for the snake and not Master Harry, then Twink will go get 2 sausages."

"I promise that the sausages are for my snake, and that I won't eat them."

"Alright, good. Twink will go get the sausages now."

Harry flicked his right hand to bring out his wand and transfigured the box Shasta came in into a terrarium for her to stay the night in. He then transfigured the box from the twins into a nest for her. He then cast a warming charm on the nest, and set it in the terrarium. Then he moved it to the top of the dresser.

'Ssshasssta.'

'Yesss, Harry?'

'Sssomething isss sssupossssssed to happen to me tonight, ssso you can't be on me tonight, but I will be
perfectly fine by morning. Until then, can you ssstay in here for me, please. You will be much safer if you do.'

'Yesss. I will ssstay in the see-through box tonight, if you promise to let me out in the morning.'

'I promise.'

Harry put his left hand into the terrarium, and Shasta slithered off of it.

Just then, Twink poped back in with the sausages.

Harry took them from her and broke them up for Shasta.

Harry cast Tempus. 10:55 pm.

Harry walked back to the bed, and looked through his new books. He picked up "Prank Charms that work in Duelling" and set it aside. He then went over to the table with the potions on it, and picked up the green one, and chugged the whole thing down in three gulps. Merlin, that stuff is nasty!

Harry went back over to the bed, grabbed all but the one book, and took them out to the common room, and put them on the coffee table. Then he went back into the bedroom and cralwed up to the headboard of the bed. He sat against it, and reached for "Prank Charms that work in Duelling" and settled down to read.

Almost an hour later, Harry's back started to itch, so he cast Tempus. 11:56 pm. Harry quickly got off of the bed, set the book under the bed, took his shirt off, and got back in bed, this time under the covers, with them no higher then his waist.

Harry didn't have to wait long. The wings burst out of his back right on schedule. Blood splattered everywhere. The pain was so bad that he almost blacked out. He struggled to stay conscous. He was able to get enough energy together to reach over to the nightstand for the purple headache potion. He took a swig, set it down, then looked over his shoulder at his wings, which turned out to be black and emerald green.

Soon after that, a mild headache started and stayed for an hour. Harry fell asleep soon after it dissapated.
