Talk About Love

AN: Here I am again. I just read this thing again and I just laughed and laughed. I have no idea where this story came from.. honestly.. I didn\'t remember half of it. Maybe 1% was still in my head.

Chapter Four

-~-Talk About Love-~-

Draco stepped inside his father\'s study, finding him reading some document. Without being acknowledged, he took a seat in front of his father\'s desk and waited.

"Ah, Draco, is something the matter?" Lucius finally lifted his gaze of the papers and granted Draco his full attention.

"May I ask, why Harry?" he asked, going straight to the point. He knew his father didn\'t appreciate beating around the bush.

"Why not?" Lucius shrugged. "She has status that she seems to be unaware of. There is some pure blood in her. Although, her relatives weren\'t so pleased to hear that she would be marrying someone who is \'filthy rich\', as they put it, and still they would not get nothing."

Draco wasn\'t surprised to hear this. "So you paid them off?"

"Of course," Lucius admitted straight away. "I promised to give them a small sum of money after the marriage was certain. They\'ll probably be able to live without working with that sum." Lucius took his brandy glass from his desk. "Pathetic muggles," he spat the words quietly, but still Draco could hear him, before taking a sip of his favourite alcohol. "Sooner you propose to her the better."

"But I already did, Father," Draco said, smirking.

~***~

Harry sighed, staring out of the Manor\'s library window. The garden looked pretty even at day time, the sun making the place look so full of life.

She sifted her gaze away from the window when she heard a knock. "Come in," she callled softly, but loud enough to be heard.

Her soon to be husband walked in, smiling at her. "Hello, my love," he said, walking to her and giving her a peck on her cheek.

She smiled back. "Hi," she said, returning the favour, taking a moment to remember what she had been thinking about just before Draco came in. After their date and Draco\'s proposal she had had time to think. Suddenly it had dawned to her just what she had agreed to when she had said yes to Draco. She would have to spend rest of her life with this man. She had done her homework about marriage. She knew she had no escaping after she had accepted to be wedded to someone. Of course she knew she would have married him anyway no matter what. Her Uncle would have made certain she would was she willing or not.

"Draco?" her tone was quite yet gentle as she wanted to discuss about their wedding with him.

"Yeah?" he asked. He had noticed that Harry seemed to be in her own world and not paying much mind to him even though he stood right in front of her.

"I have been thinking about this whole situation," she started. Trying to hide her nervousness, she fondled with the front robes of Draco\'s to keep her hands busy and mind on the subject.

Draco glanced at her hands, wondering what could be she on about. "Go on," he urged her. He really wanted to hear what she had to say. There might be something she considered hiding from him.

"Is this really love? Do you love me or do you like me just because you think I am beautiful?" she managed to ask. She was afraid that Draco might get angry at her for even doubting something like this. She had to be sure so she wouldn\'t get her hopes up and be disappointed if Draco noticed later on that it had been just a mild crush.

Draco looked shocked after her question. He thought what and how to answer to her. While he was thinking she continued, "I have to admit, Draco, that I have a crush on you, but I don\'t know if I will fall in love with you. Only time will tell as right now I am scared, insecure about this whole wedding thing."

Draco drew her into a hug, kissing her head. "Ok, since you want to know what I think I have to confess something." He could feel how she was practically shaking in his arms after what he had said. "I have a crush on you too. I think you are beautiful and that was the first thing I noticed about you, but after I have talked to you my crush got deeper. I think we will learn to really love each other if we give it time to develop. As long as you are by my side I don\'t care if you love me as a lover or as a friend, but I would love to have both," he said smirking and pulling back from her to give her a small kiss on her lips.

Harry sighed. "Thank you, Draco."

~***~

They spend their day in Draco\'s room as it was raining outside. Draco was showing her things that he had kept like some of his first toys he ever had. Of course he showed her their family albums and at the end of it Harry was laughing, well more like giggling, so badly she couldn\'t breath.

After Harry had calmed down she managed to say, "You looked so cute in that mini Quidditch robes with your small broom in your hand."

Draco smiled amused by her mirth. "I am happy you liked it."

"I just wonder if..." Harry started to say but then she fell silent, looking away from him.

"You wonder what?" Draco looked at her in confusion. He gently placed his fingers on her chin and turned her to look at him once again. "You what, Harry?" he asked quietly.

He could see her hesitating but then she opened her mouth, "I wonder if our children will be as cute as you were." She was blushing, trying to look away again but he held her in place.

He smiled at her and said, "There really isn\'t but one way to find out, is there?" That made Harry blush so furiously she broke away from him and moved so quickly, almost running, to the other side of the room.

Draco couldn\'t do anything else but laugh at her reaction. "Come here, darling, I am not going to do anything to you. I was just teasing you." He held his hand out to her. He waited for her patiently as she composed herself again before walking back to sat next to him.

Draco took her hand in his and kissed it briefly. "I want you to trust me. I will never harm you in any way."

Harry smiled at him, still blushing a bit. "I know."

"Mother?" Draco called out as he stepped into the master bedroom.

"In here, Darling!" came an answer from the wardrobe. He walked to the door an peered inside the large cabinet which was more like a room.

His mother appeared, carrying two dresses and a box. "Which one should I wear for tomorrow\'s cocktail party?" she asked as she laid the box down and hold out the two gorgeous dresses for him to judge.

"Go with the blue one, Mother," he said and she nodded.

"I thougth so too, Dragon," she said, smiling brightly at him as she left the blue dress on the bed and went to take the red one back into the cabinet.

Draco scratched his brow, lloking after his mtoher and then to the mysterious box on the bed. "Why did you call me here, Mother?"

She reappeared and frowned at him, "Call me Mum or mummy or anything else but mother all the time."

Draco chuckled and shook his head. "If you say so, Mum."

"Good." She smiled at him and went to the bed, taking the box into her hands as she sat down. "Now, come here darling, I have something to show you."

Draco walked over to her, sitting on the other side of the black coloured box. "What\'s in it?"

"Patience is a virtue, Dragon," she said, smiling mysteriously. She lifted the top from the box and laid it aside.

Draco\'s eyes went wide as he took in what he was probably seeing. "Is this.."

"Yes, this is my wedding robes," she said, looking pleased with his reaction. "And I intend to give it to Harry for her wedding day."

"Mum," he said his voice so full of emotion that it seemed as if he might cry but he did not. Instead he hugged her tight thanking her.

"Anything for you my dear Dragon. This has been in the family for centuries. It is the right thing to do to give it to her."

Draco kissed her cheek and thanked her once more before his mother let him go. She told him not to tell Harry yet as she wanted to give it to her personally. She would be giving her more than just a dress, she would be giving her only son to her.

AN: Isn\'t Lucius\' comment about muggles funny? He himself has so much money that he could swim in it and he calls them pathetic? Well, maybe that was not what he meant but anyway. Just a thought. Isn\'t it great when the author doesn\'t even understand her own stories?

Oh about that giggling part where she can\'t breath.. I speak from my own experience. xD

Oh my god! I have such an great idea now in my head! :O Oh my god.. where is the pen and paper when I need some! (I know I could type it but I like to write by hand when I get ideas. Damn.. need some paper.. now!
