Rains of Insanity
Doctor
~~~~~
No one spoke. They all just looked around at each other. The doctor and Harry were having a staring contest, Harry glaring and the doctor looking kind.
"Well-" Minerva broke the silence.
Harry interrupted and glared at Minerva instead. "My sanity was questioned," he stated unblinkingly. "I'm going to write to him to tell him I'm coming." He made to stand up but Minerva sat him back down.
"Harry," the doctor said clamly. Harry turned his unblinking glare back to him. "No one has seen this letter you keep talking about."
Harry rolled his eyes. "I can't show it to anyone. I've already told you," he growled
"Why would that be?"
"He spelled it so he and are I the only ones who can read it."
"You said he wasn't using magic-" Minerva accused.
"He had the paper before he left the school last year."
"Why, Harry?" The doctor was talking to him again.
"The spell?" The doctor nodded. "I'm the only one he trusts."
"Why do you think that is?"
Harry and his voice rose with anger. "Because, besides Remus, I'm the only one who believed in him and saw him fight by my side."
"And why do you believe in him?"
"We're going no where with this," Minerva huffed.
"Please, Professor. Time. I do have a point." He leaned across the small table toward Harry. "Think, Harry. Why do you trust him?"
Harry blinked and looked away. Minerva saw and looked at the doctor, who smiled and leaned back in his chair. "That's what I thought."
Minerva was outraged. "What the hell are you suggesting?" she screamed.
"Calm down, Professor." The doctor tried to quiet minerva.
They were both so loud they almost missed what Harry murmured. "He would never feel the same way about me."
"Now we're getting somewhere," the doctor said matter-of-factly. "Right, Professor?" He smiled.
Minerva huffed "sadist" then left room, leaving Harry and the doctor alone.
Harry looked at his hands on the table. "He's sweet."
"Are you answering my question?" Harry nodded. "So you want to continue with this?" He nodded again. "Okay, good." The doctor lowered his voice back to the quiet annalyzing voice. "Why do you think he won't feel the same way?"
Harry sighed. "He was only paying me back. My father saved his life. That's the only reason he was-is nice to me. Besides, he'll never know how I feel about him. From me at least. If anyone else tells him, I'll deny it." He was angry again.
The doctor threw his hands up in defense. "Don't worry about me. I won't tell anyone." He put his hands back down on the table. "The professors are all wondering why you came back to the school. Did you know school was closed?"
Harry shook his head. "I never got the letter. Hedwig was killed." There was a short pause. "Can I go now?"
"...Yeah..."
Harry got up. When his hand touched the door the doctor said, "Give it time and he'll come to you. Sooner than you think."
Harry lowered his head. "We'll see," he whispered, then left.
Severus smiled to himself. He would tell Harry how he really felt. It was just a matter of time. In that time he would get a few questions answered. Today wasn't the day, though; today was just to see Harry.
