Severus didn't know what to make of this doctor. "I'm sorry?" Surely the man hadn't asked him out... right?

"I said, would you like to have dinner this Friday?" He had. Oh, if only his Hogwarts students heard this. "Are you going to answer me or do we just pretend that you've suddenly gone mute?" Severus glared at the smirking doctor.

"I haven't gone mute. What makes you think I would go to dinner with a complete stranger, especially one as arrogant as you?"

"Oh, just a hunch. You haven't said no. Just find a sitter for Junior and Juniorette, go out to dinner, maybe get to know me a little. There may or may not be a reason for my arrogance." Greg smirked even wider at the incredulous look on his vic... uh, patient's father's face.

"That's harder than you think. I have seven children." It was Greg's turn to be incredulous.

"Wow. I mean, wow. How do you keep up with them all?" That surprised a laugh out of Severus.

"Well, two are old enough to care for themselves and they help me with the rest of the kids. However, my monsters have already scared away any possible baby-sitters." Greg thought for a second.

"Then bring them along. I'm sure they'll like what I have in mind, and don't worry, I'll pay." Severus contemplated the man in front of him. Shiloh and Tristen HAD been pestering him about dating lately. It seems that if he didn't go out, he was turning into an antisocial parent that hovered and embarrassed his children. With a boyfriend, the two told him, he would be sufficiently distracted from humiliating the Snape children.

"Fine."

AN: I know, I know, it was short, but my muse has run away and left a note, "No mas, no mas, go somewhere else for inspiration!!!!!" I think the bogeyman under my bed scared it away... Ah, well. I'm trying. Like it? Loathe it? Tell me what you think and feel free to give constructive criticism or drop hints of what you'd like to see. And, yes Miss McGonagall, eventually he will.
