Shut Up
Ron found himself staring at the back of Blaise’s head. He blinked and looked away, there was a week left of school and he still couldn’t get the Slytherin out of his head. He had gone on to other partners of course, had played around with Hermione’s new toy a couple of times but this was different. Blaise had been more than good, he had been great. The smell emanating off him, the smooth planes of his skin, the feeling of having other wrapped his arms around him. Blaise had somehow reached into his soul and extracted it then crushed it between his fingers like one would a crystal glass of wine. As the deep red blood poured down Blaise’s wrist and arm, Ron couldn’t help but want him more. He got up as the bell rang and followed his best friends out. Suddenly he was pulled away from the crowd into a deserted classroom in the dungeons and turned to face Draco Malfoy.
“What do you want?” Ron tried not to sneer at the other, he was still wary of the other, didn’t really want to trust this new Malfoy.
“I see you staring at him. What happened between you two? He tells me everything but I guess you happened to slip between the cracks,” Draco demanded, he actually looked pissed at someone besides Ron which was an accomplishment. Even though they shared partners and beds didn’t make them friends, a tensed truce was called between them but that was all, fragile at best.
“If he didn’t tell you then it’s not my place to tell you either,” Ron frowned, trying not to look hurt that Blaise didn’t even tell his best friend about him.
“Look, I know there’s something going on between you two and it’s just going to get worse unless you work it out. Graduation is coming up and then you won’t have a chance afterwards. This is probably going to be the last time you’ll see him,” Draco sighed, rubbing the side of his head like he had a headache.
“Just stay out of my business Malfoy,” Ron turned to the door, Draco grabbed his arm.
“I know there’s still a lot between us that’s bad. I know that you don’t like me, probably will never like me and I’m not very fond of you either but I know what I’m talking about,” Draco said then let Ron go. He hurried out the door and back up to his dorm room. He sat down on his bed and wanted to forget was Draco had told him. Wanted to forget the worry, the ache and the pain inside. He just wanted to go back to just loving his best friends but they were so wrapped up in Malfoy that he just kind of watched some nights, didn’t show up for others. They had taken to Malfoy like a new candy and Ron was just an old, used toy. It would have bothered him if he didn’t know his best friends so well. They were excited but soon they would come back to him like they always did. Finally got up to wander down to dinner, he sat down next to his usual seat next to Harry and looked around. There were a few faces missing since last year but the Gryffindor house was the fullest out of all the school. There were few Slytherins, little more Hufflepuffs and some more Ravenclaws but in the end, it wasn’t a surprise after the full attack on the school.
“Are you going to meet up with us tonight?” Hermione asked, breaking forcefully into his thoughts.
“I don’t know, I’ve got patrols and then I have to study for the charms final and write the essay in muggle studies. I think I’ll just call it an early night,” Ron answered, Hermione shrugged and went back to talking with Ginny about something. He tried not to look over at Harry who he knew had a worried look on his face.
“I really do have a lot on my plate,” Ron grumbled into his food.
“There’s something really bothering you. I just wish you would trust us enough to tell us,” Harry finally said, Ron looked up into the other’s emerald green eyes.
“Don’t start the trust issues again. I just need to sort this out by myself. I can’t be your lapdog all the time,” Ron growled and stood up, every one at the table looked to him, amazed that Ron was leaving his food early. He then turned and stormed out of the hall.
Ron ended up in the dungeons, his last patrol of the night, he was covering for one of the Slytherin prefects, Hermione had made him when he ran into another prefect but it was the one he was thoroughly avoiding.
“Weasley,” Blaise murmured, brushing past him to the Slytherin common room.
“Am I really that horrible?” Ron called after him suddenly. Blaise froze then slowly turned around.
“What are you talking about?” Blaise looked confused.
“Well, we don’t really acknowledge each other, we avoid each other like the plague,” Ron trailed off, not really knowing what to say. Blaise slowly walked back to him.
“Look, I told you that night was a mistake…” Blaise looked away from the hurt in Ron’s face. “I don’t want to talk about this right now,” he turned to leave.
“Will you ever talk about it or just let it all go, never have to worry about it after graduation, right?” Ron blurted out. Blaise was suddenly right there in front of him, his hands tightly wrapped around his upper arms. Blaise was only slightly shorter than him, his blazing brown eyes bore into his own.
“You’ve been corrupting my best friend but you’re not going to do the same to me. I’ve got my family to worry about, my future,” Blaise slammed him against the wall, pressing his body up against Ron’s.
“Do you think I don’t have the same worries?” Ron replied, glaring back.
“You’re nothing but a good fuck,” Blaise spit out, moving back from the other. Suddenly he was slammed into the opposite wall.
“You’re disgusting. You deny everything you are just because you think it’s better if you just run. I know you, I know you inside and out and for some stupid reason, I can’t get you out of my head. There’s nothing I wouldn’t give to forget about you,” Ron hissed into Blaise’s face.
“Then obliviate yourself and get out of my face,” Blaise tried to push Ron away but the other didn’t budge. Ron suddenly leaned forward, taking Blaise’s lips in his own who let out a low moan as Ron forcefully plundered his mouth, his hands crawling up underneath Blaise’s shirt to caress his stomach and chest. Suddenly Blaise shoved him away.
“Meet me in my room at midnight, I know you can get in with little trouble,” Blaise hurried past Ron and disappeared into the Slytherin Common room. Ron stared after him for a long time before turning and walking back up to his own room. Harry was sitting there waiting for him.
“Hey, I thought you guys were going to go have fun tonight,” Ron sat down across from his best friend.
“I’m to find the last horcrux tomorrow night, they’ve finally gotten a location on it,” Harry looked up into Ron’s face. He sat down next to Harry and pulled him into a tight hug.
“I just wanted to tell you before I disappeared,” Harry wrapped his own arms around Ron, burying his nose into his friend’s shoulder, squeezing his eyes tightly shut.
“Do I have to option of coming with?” Ron asked, pulling back to look into Harry’s face.
“No, they said not even to tell you or Hermione but I couldn’t just keep it in any longer. I had to tell you before it burst out of me,” Harry explained.
“How long have you known?” Ron asked.
“A couple of weeks now,” He answered.
“I’m sorry, I’ve been so wrapped up in my own problems,” Ron tightened his hold.
“I understand, we’ve been so distant lately. We forgot that you really do not like Draco. We do understand about that, we know you two have a more bitter animosity towards each other. I guess it’s because you were both raised so differently,” Harry shook his head.
“No, it isn’t that. It’s mostly the fact that Malfoy has made all of us hurt, I wanted to protect you against all of that, both of you. Against all the pureblood prejudices and stuff but he would just drive it home time and again,” Ron shook his head, looking away.
“I think Hermione is finally opening his eyes,” Harry smirked up at his best friend, Ron nodded, returning with his own smile. He glanced at the clock and realized it was getting close to midnight.
“Are you going to be okay tonight?” He asked, turning back to Harry.
“Yeah, I’m meeting Hermione down at Hogsmeade tonight with Draco. We thought it’d be fun to do something different tonight, you know?” Harry got up. “You’re welcome to come with of course.”
“No, I’ve got some things to catch up on but I’ll see you tomorrow morning before you leave,” Ron got up also, Harry nodded and walked out the door. Ron grabbed Harry’s invisibility cloak from his trunk and slipped it on then tried not to run down to the dungeons.
He slipped past a few seventh year Slytherins staying up late near the common room fire and then made it up to Blaise’s private room. Since he came from a rich family, they managed to get him into his own room which suited Ron fine. He opened the door and turned around, pulling off the cloak. Blaise was at his desk, doing homework, he looked up at Ron.
“I just want to know one thing, what the fuck are you doing to Draco? He’s like a different person,” Blaise stood up and set his quill down.
“Don’t ask me, that’s Hermione and Harry’s business,” Ron shrugged, laying the cloak down on the chair by the door. Blaise slid up behind Ron, wrapping his arms around him.
“You know because you know them,” Blaise hotly breathed into Ron’s ear. Ron tried not to blush.
“Does he seem like he’s happy or does he seem like something wrong is being done to him?” Ron turned around and pressed himself up against Blaise.
“Actually, he seems like he’s never been more confident, strong…I guess that would mean he’s happy. He just seems better,” Blaise shrugged.
“So why question something that is having such good results?” Ron asked, Blaise shook his head, smiling slowly.
“You three did something to him, something drastic and I want to know what.”
“Is that all you wanted me here for? To figure out why you and your best friend aren’t as close anymore?” Ron asked, pulling slowly away from the Slytherin.
“I’m not…” Blaise trailed off.
“Gay, I know,” Ron turned away from the other, reaching for the invisibility cloak.
“Wait, I just am in uncertain plains here. I don’t know what you want me to say. I am what I am,” Blaise put himself between Ron and the door.
“If you’re really not gay then why did you enjoy me so much? I don’t think I’m very feminine,” Ron looked down on his body, knowing that his muscles were well developed from years of quidditch. Blaise shook his head, looking up in Ron’s eyes.
“I don’t have an answer to that,” Blaise finally answered.
“Then there’s no reason for me to be still standing here,” Ron growled, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Vanessa is going to do everything she can to destroy Draco. I’ve tried to talk some sense into her but she’s determined. She can’t get why Draco isn’t crawling back to her anymore,” Blaise suddenly blurted out, Ron slowly raised an eyebrow.
“What can she possibly do? Malfoy’s father is in Azkaban, his mom is in hiding and Malfoy isn’t a deatheater,” Ron asked.
“You know the world we live in, you’re apart of it the same as we are. You know what the purebloods are like,” Blaise explained, Ron shook his head and made to push Blaise aside. “Please, Draco has a life waiting out there for him past graduation. I know it hurts to see your father come home empty handed from the ministry again. I know it’s hard to see him being pushed down time and again because your family fell out of favor,” Blaise wouldn’t budge for him.
“I don’t need your pity now let me by. I was wrong about you Blaise. You’re nothing but a rich pureblood brat,” Ron hissed in his face.
“Vanessa’s your cousin right?” Blaise suddenly blurted out, Ron frowned even darker.
“Yeah, she is, part of your family that’s still traveling in the right circles. On your mom’s side, huh? She doesn’t even glance at you, she’s just ignores you like your scum. She’s pretty rich to, goes home on holiday to a big family mansion,” Blaise taunted, Ron narrowed his eyes at the other.
“Fuck you and the fuck out of my way,” Ron hissed in Blaise’s face.
“Do you want that for everyone around you? Hermione and Harry, they don’t know what they’re getting into past graduation but you do. You know exactly what’s out there,” Blaise kept going, suddenly Ron shoved him to the side and made for the door. Blaise wrapped his hand around Ron’s fist locked on the door knob. Wincing from the pain down his side from being slammed into the wall.
“I hide all the time but so do you,” Blaise looked up into Ron’s eyes accusingly. “You want the best for everyone around you, don’t fuck it up by ignoring me.”
“What do you want from me?” Ron growled at the other.
“Just talk to Hermione, Harry, Draco if you can. Try and get them to realize that she is a real threat,” Blaise explained.
“Fine, anything else oh great pureblood?” Ron sneered.
“Yeah, one more thing,” Blaise grabbed Ron’s neck and forcefully pulled him down to his lips. Ron let go of the door as Blaise wrapped himself around Ron. He ran his hands down Blaise’s back and tightly took hold of his bum, pulling him back to the large four post bed behind them. He fell back and Blaise crawled up into Ron’s lap, lapping hungrily at his neck, grinding down against him. Ron tight wrapped his arms around Blaise, pulling him back as they crawled fully onto the bed.
“What is going on here?” The door opened and they burst apart, Ron blinked stupidly at the short female in the doorway.
“Now I know this entire school has gone crazy!” Vanessa screeched and turned to leave.
“Wait! ‘Nessa!” Blaise got up to chase.
“Well, I see where your loyalties lay,” Ron growled behind him, Blaise turned around at the door.
“Please…if you know what’s good for you…don’t come near me again,” Blaise warned before dashing out. In a daze Ron got up and slipped on the invisibility cloak.
“Why would you ever do anything with a Gryffindor and on top of that one of my many disgusting disgraced blood traitor cousins? They aren’t real purebloods Blaise! They’re nothing!” Vanessa was screaming as he passed her room. Blaise was trying to calm her down. He shook his head, disgusted with himself for even thinking he could love someone such as Blaise. Not everyone was a closet good guy like Draco Malfoy. He wandered around the corridors until he found himself at the room of requirement, he did the usual dance and pushed open the door to an overstuffed couch before a warm fire. He sat down and looked over to the crystal container with firewhiskey in it and a small glass already poured out for him. He downed it and poured another, settling down to stare blankly into the flames. He needed to just forget.
Ron woke up to the bright morning and groaned, he sat up and stretched then got up and went back to his dorm. He changed quickly and made it to breakfast late. Harry was worriedly glancing at him while Hermione tried to get him into a conversation about Potions. He felt sick to his stomach and he knew it wasn’t because of the alcohol he had late last night.
“You guys know about Vanessa right?” Ron asked, Hermione blinked then looked over at the girl who was seated next to Blaise, far away from Draco.
“What about her?” Hermione asked almost coldly.
“She’s going to try something. I don’t know what but she is my cousin, on the wrong side. I think we need to keep an eye on her,” Ron explained, Hermione nodded, narrowing her eyes at the girl.
“She did seem like she had hidden claws,” Hermione mused then smiled over at Ron.
“Don’t worry about it luv, I’ll take care of it,” she pecked both of them on the cheek, getting up and walking out to get her book bag for her first class of the day.
“Well, I’ll see you later on mate, wish me luck,” Harry took a deep breathe and stood up, Ron nodded.
“Good luck,” He called after his best friend then went back to finishing his breakfast.
