Author's Note

hen he finally came to, it was to the sound of loud voices arguing nearby. Everything sounded far away and his mind felt fuzzy; there was also a strange ache all over his body. It took a moment for Harry to remember who he was and what he was doing here. After he remembered, the oddest sensation came over him, as though he were not himself.

A strange anger rose up in him momentarily, a sudden dark malevolence in his otherwise mostly benevolent soul. He'd had his moments of hate and temper before but never had he felt like this. A sudden nostalgia came over him when the thought came to him that this was normally a time he would have gone to Professor Dumbledore for advice. Shaking his head gently and clearing it of the reverie, Harry focused his eyes on the room he was in and he instantly recognized it as a room back in Godric's Hollow.

He tuned his hearing in to the arguing going on and Harry wasn't surprised to notice it was about him. Hermione was screeching at someone about his irresponsibility and how he shouldn't be trusted to go on these missions.

"These missions are too important for you to have Harry going along with you, alone no less! He needs someone with a little intelligence in their head to keep him on track!"

Stung and unexpectedly hurt Harry reared back almost as though she'd physically slapped him. Then the anger overtook him again and without a second thought, he ran for the door and slammed it shut loudly as be bolted out of it. He knew if Snape and Aberforth were still there he'd have to hurry or they'd catch up to him, so he ran to the corner and held out his wand for the Knight Bus.

He'd been out of the door so quickly, he never heard Hermione taking back her words and admitting she had only been saying that because she was so worried about her friend.

Harry just knew he was too angry to stay there right now and he needed to be alone for awhile, even if it meant taking a risk that Voldemort might find him. He kept his head down and quickly muttered "Leaky Cauldron," to Stan; he made sure his face was fully covered by his long hair so he wouldn't be recognized.

------------

Short, but it lets you know I'm not dead. I'm working on this and other fics it's just taking me some time because I have a lot on my plate, both in every day life and writing. Don't worry; it isn't moving fast - Harry's not setting off on his own yet, he's just mad and wandering around for a bit. Once this chapter is finished I'll update it and in place of "Author's Note" the chapter will say "Chapter Three."
