Chapter 3 - Full Moon Changes

Harry had no illusions about what would happen to him if he were to walk into his relatives house, dripping blood all over their floors. So he sat on the deck and washed the bite wound with the cold water from the hose. He shivered, teeth chattering in the cold light of dawn as he kept the water flowing over the still slightly bleeding wound. Harry waited for the stream to completely turn clear, devoid of any hint of pink before shutting the stream of water off. Standing up, he put all, if not most of his weight on his good leg, he tried the door handle to see if he was able to get in, but the knob wouldn't twist in either direction.

Harry limped over to the shed and slowly made his way over to the corner where his blanket was. Once huddled under the measly bid for warmth he continued to shiver as he waited for his aunt to call him.

The month slowly passed, and Harry forgot about the dog attack though he still bore the scars of the bite on his ankle. He did all of his chores with out complaint, never noticing when the moon slowly went through its phases. He never noticed the dim aches and pains as the moon slowly shifted to full.

The night of his first full moon, and his first change, the Dursely's were once more hosting guests and so once more Harry was kicked out of the house and forced into the shed.
~~~~~~~
Harry huddled beneath his thin blanket as searing pain raced up and down his spine. He had stuffed the cleanest corner of his blanket into his mouth hoping to dull his screams at least enough for his relatives not to hear him. The pain kept coming in waves, faster and faster all the while he cried and screamed, never noticing when his body started to change. Black fur sprouted all over his body, his black hair lengthened and became the thicker tuff of a baby wolf at the back of his neck, he back legs lengthened and his feet extended. His arms grew longer and his hands became deadly paws with claws. His mouth became a muzzle of little razor sharp teeth, his ears and moved from the sides of his head to the top.
Where once lay a young boy crying in pain, now lay the disfigured form of a creature of myth, a werewolf. The boys once agile mind was lost with in the instincts of a wolf.
A lone, tortured howl broke the silence of the night, because of the walls enclosing the creature, the sound echoed. The sound caused shivers to race up and down the Dursely's and guests body. None of them could figure out what or where the sound came from, but as the howl continued soon to be joined by others their fear grew.
The dogs of the neighbour hood were to scared to fallow the wild howls with their own tame ones. They were not stupid they new their wild cousins would hold no love lost if they heard their howls. Their cousins would think they were trying to move in to claim the newly born wild one. So the dogs listened as the wolves headed in to privet drive determined to claim their newest pup.
~~~~~~~~

Large wolves, varying in colour jumped the fence of # 4 privet drive. They fallowed their nose and ears to their caged pup. They whined and scratched at the sides of the shed, waiting for their king to come and collect the pup. The small group of wolves did their best to calm the pup down, though the pup still paced in the confined space of the shed. The wolves of brown, red, tawny and cream parted as a wolf of silver walked towards the shed that held the other wolf. Though the others wolves were huge, this one was monstrous in size, and you could tell just by looking at him that he had the power and title of alpha.

The alpha's howl broke and shattered what little silence there was left on privet drive. Its nearness drew the Dursely's and guests to the back window, who were stunned at the pack of wolves that was 15 members strong surrounding the shed in the back yard. They shivered as once more the huge silver wolf howled, before he rammed at the wooded door of the shed. The sound of cracking wood hit their ears as over and over the alpha tacked and rammed the door. It didn't take more then six hits before with a final crack the door broke open, allowing the small hunched over form of a disfiguring mix of wolf and man loped out of the opening to join the pack.

The group of people watched scared stiff as the silver wolf walked straight to where they stood, his blue eyes cold, his fangs bared, before letting out an ear piercing howl. The other wolves including the disfigured looking form soon fallowed in on the howl. As the howl died into the night, the pack and its newest member ran off into the night, the full moon high over head.

The group of people who hovered at the window could never really explain to themselves what happened that night, and none of them ever mentioned it again. They all believed it a figment of their imaginations after having ingested to much alcohol.
~~~~~~~
The wolves, and their newest member raced through the woods, howling and yipping at one another. Though the pack was mindful of their slow and awkward pup, that kept up to them to the best of its ability. They didn’t fault him for it, they all knew that young people who were bite, especially wizards, because they didn’t have enough magic in their core yet, tended to at first be this deformed being. It was sightings of these newest and young pups that the muggle myths of werewolves had been born.
When the small pack entered a clearing where the rest of the 45 member strong pack resided, the formed a circle with the new pup in the middle. The black form whined and whimpered as he lay down, his body still too new and sore after the transformation, but they watched as human intelligence slowly returned to his bright green eyes. The huge silver wolf, slowly broke out of formation and walked to the newest pack member and laid down beside him, sharing warmth and comfort, soon the rest joined in.
This would not be the last or only time the new pup would change into this awkward and deformed wolf-like creature, no he would shift into this form till he was eleven when a wizards magical core grew enough to house the full spirit of a wolf. The alpha had dealt with the wayward wolf that had bitten one so young, it was tradition for the pack to claim children early on but wait till the eleventh birthday to bite them. The silver wolf sighed as he rested his muzzle on top of the tiny forms back protectively. For the next month or so they would head back to Darnell woods where their territory really was.
