Out of Time...
Part 4: Out of Time...
I love mornings. Most people think that for sneaky prick, such as myself, mornings would be my least favorite. Wouldn't they all be surprised to find out that I, Draco Malfoy, was a morning person. I practically bounce out of bed in the mornings. Truly I've been told that it's sickening to see someone as chipper as I am in the mornings. I've always thought it just gives me more of an edge. While everyone else was muddled and befuddled, I was ready for action. Ready for HIM. Gods, I so love to watch him. He is so beautiful in the mornings. *Sigh* Harry Potter. Two words, just a name, and yet so filled with meaning.
I remember like yesterday when I first laid eyes on him. Even then I knew that day in the shop would change my life. My father nearly had my head when he found out I'd tried to be his friend and Harry had refused. I'd like to say that I took his refusal with grace, but I can't. After that I set out to cause Harry nothing but trouble. I admit, if only to myself, that I like him and as we grew up…
Hey! I'd have to be dead not to notice that body, even though he keeps it hidden most of the time beneath those robes or those awful oversized clothes he always wears when he comes back after the summer break. Looking at him now, sitting over with his fellow Gryffindor, I can imagine that body under me, taking me deep inside. * Down boy.*
He was looking at me now. Oh, how I love this game we play. Every morning he'd look at me and try and stare me down and I'd do the same. Neither of us winning, just looking and I think maybe even a little undressing, a little fantasizing of each other.
Except that isn't what happened, not this morning. Something was wrong, very wrong. There was something in his eyes that said he wanted to tell me something he shouldn't. Things he clearly need to say. I tried to ask with my eyes, but he turned away, breaking our contact with each other. Dread filled the pit of my stomach. Something bad was about to happen and he was trying to warn me and couldn't. Once more I made eye contact and when I did I wish I hadn't. Misery was shining clearly in his eyes. He didn't want to be sitting there. Again I tried to get him to show me, to give me some hint but he just kept looking away.
At the sound of a glass being tapped I looked to see the headmaster stand to make
an announcement.
"May I have your attention please." He paused.
After that he began telling us all about some exchange program that one of our students had submitted to the Ministry some time back. How after a lot of work and meetings that one of our students would be spending time living and learning gargoyle magic. That the gargoyle's were sending one of their own.
That's when he dropped his little bomb on us. It was Harry. Harry's paper and it was Harry the gargoyles wanted for the exchange. They wanted MY HARRY. I looked over at him and our eyes collided. That's when his eyes finally showed me what he wanted to say, "No Time."
No time? No time for what?
Dumbledore's next words answered my questions. "I regret, however, that Mister Potter doesn't have much time. We received word only this morning. He is to leave as soon as the representative from the other school shows up. Which should be…"
Hagrid the gamekeeper and my professor for magical creatures walked through the main doors at that moment. "Sorry to interrupt, there Dumbledore, sir. The student from the gargoyle school has arrived just now. Thought ye'd want to know."
"Thank you, Hagrid. Harry, I think you should say your good-byes quickly." Dumbledore said hurriedly and then waved to some elves to come to him. He spoke briefly to them and then sent them running for some destination or another.
I looked over to Harry saying his good-byes and hugging his friends. Granger was crying and Weasley was asking a million questions. Everyone was surrounding him wishing him good luck and all. Again he looked to me. His eyes clearly asking me to come rescue him from all of it.
That's when I did two very foolish things: One I got up and walked over to the crowd and fought my way to him. Two I then dragged him out of the crowd of well wishers and out into the hallway out of the sight were I could kiss him.
But, with Luck being a lady, or a real sadistic bitch, I never got the chance. Hagrid and the new student walked into the hallway just then and I didn't know if I should be happy about it or go somewhere and scream out my frustration over it.
"I have to go." He started to say something else but stopped.
This was crazy. "I know. How long will you be gone?"
"I don't know." he whispered to me.
I had to say something to him now or I might never get a chance to later. "Potter, I…"
Hagrid bellowed from down the hall. "HARRY! HURRY YER SELF UP! WE'RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME."
"Harry…" I tried again.
He placed fingers to my lips and stopped me. "I know Draco. I know."
I stepped closer blocking the view of anyone who might see and I did something that should have gotten my lights punched out. I reached into his opened robe and cupped him intimately. What he did surprise both of us more than me actually daring to touch him that way. He stepped forward, causing my hand to press into his erection he was sporting. Eyes of green darkened almost as if belonging to someone else.
I found my voice again some how. "We WILL finish this discussion when you get back Potter."
He ground his pelvis into my touch. "Count on it, Malfoy."
*Oh bloody hell YEAH!* I had no clue his voice could be that deep and sexy. My hand slid across him as he moved to walk past me. I finally moved out of his way to let him pass me, but it was very reluctantly that I did so.
He never looked back. He just walked away leaving me very hard and very confused at what just happened between us.
