The Garden
Chapter 4
Gabrielle looked around her as she sat in the garden.
It was beautiful among the moss and streams.
She lay back and stared up at the white clouds.
Her ebony hair pillowed behind her on a delicate blanket of green.
She glowed.
Her stark form was brilliant against a backdrop of white feathers.
And he was there.
In all of his darkness and desire.
She longed for his hands.
Ached to be again next to the one with whom she had fallen.
She could only watch him.
With his midnight black wings and sliver hair.
He looked to be the true essence of oblivion.
Those eyes, those amazing clear teal eyes.
They belonged to her.

He knew that she was watching him.
He could see her down there among the wild.
She was always one to overdue it.
Never having the succinct control over the garden as he did.
He made it behave.
Although he had to admit that she had a way with it.
His hair fell in a curtain across his features as he took in all of her that lay before him.
She was his and only his.
If only she could just accept that fate.
They had been apart for too long.
It was time to reunite, but he could already feel his control slipping.
The garden would be lost again.
They might never….
A floating whisper reached his ears before reality started to fade, “Michael.”

The soft rocking of the train was the first thing that Hermione noticed. She could feel it swaying underneath of her.
“Where am I?”
She didn’t hear any voices, only the soft whisper of swaying curtains and the wind outside.
Slowly she opened her eyes and immediately closed them again. When had everything taken on a purplish hue? She was very scared and couldn’t remember what she was doing on a train.
She heard another sound in the room and opened her eyes again. Her ears very sensitive. To her relief everything was back to normal.
“No more purple, thank the light.”
She was getting rather worried there for a second. Then she saw him. Immediately a name jumped into her head, “Malfoy.” Her mind hissed. He was evil. She knew that. Devilishly evil, no getting around it. The evil snake, the ferret.
Then she was scared. Where was the garden? Where did her peace go? And what was this place that she was trapped in? It seemed to be some sort of a box. And he was there, not just the evil git, but someone else. It was almost like he was trapped inside the evil git.
“What is going on with me? Who is he and why am I thinking like this? Ok, now just calm down. I am sure that everything will be ok. Now what is the last thing that you remember?”
But, Hermione wasn’t sure about anything outside of her box. This cage that she was trapped in was actually kind of comforting because she didn’t have to worry about what was out there. All she knew was that what was out there was bad, very bad. She was safe here and she didn’t want anyone to take that from her.
And then she heard something. Someone coughing. She looked around again. He was over there on the other side of the room and he wasn’t breathing very well. There was blood on the side of his clothes and he looked like he was crying in his sleep.
More coughing. Blood came up this time and she watched as the blood soaked through his robes and onto the couch. “NO, NO, NOOOOOO!!!!”
***
Someone was screaming. Very loudly and wait it was her. Hermione opened her eyes to see Harry and Ron starring down at her. As soon as she realized that she was screaming the sound had died. They were looking at her as if she were some alien.
It was dark outside and there was rain splattering on the windows. She sat up and put a hand to her head.
“What a headache! And what was that weird dream about?”
“Are you okay Hermione? You blacked out on the platform and we haven’t been able to bring you round. Professor McGonagall said to just leave you be, but you have been out for like 8 hours.” They both looked so concerned that she was momentarily speechless.
“I’m….uh……..hmmm.”
She was taken aback as they both wrapped their arms around her and surprisingly she started to cry. Before she knew it great sobs were silently wracking her body as the boys both held her close.

Draco awoke with a very empty feeling. He also felt as though he had been trodden upon and a careful inspection of his robes showed that yes he had been walked on. Although, he wondered why no one had even had the decency to move him out of the hallway. He stood carefully and tried to brush as much dust off of his cloak as he could. It didn’t help.
Well, it just happened to be at that precise moment that he glanced outside at the sky. Pitch black.
“Oh shit, we’re gonna be there soon and I haven’t even changed, SHIT!”
