Chapter 4.


A few days after the dinner with the Weasley’s found the three previously dead people lounging in Harry’s house.

“Don’t you think it’s terrible that Harry and Draco have to hide their relationship?” Lily asked out of the blue.

“I guess.” James mumbled from behind his book.

“How can you just say that!” The green-eyed woman exclaimed.

“Well if that’s what they want to do then it’s not our place to say anything.” James replied.

“Come on prongs you have to admit that she has a point. Harry isn’t happy with this. You know it, I know it, and the only people who don’t know it are the Weasley’s.” Sirius said.

“What and you think that Draco is happy with their little arrangement?” A voice said for behind Sirius making him jump.

“Merlin Snape are you trying to kill me?” Sirius shot out once he saw who it was.

“Temping Black but unfortunately the love of my godson’s life actually likes you and wants you around.” Snape smirked.

“What are you doing here?” James asked. “Better yet how did you get in here? Harry has this place warded.”

“Well oh ye of little brains since Draco moved in here Harry had the wards changed so that I could come and see him whenever I need to.” Severus explained as if to a child.

“You still didn’t tell us why you are here.” Lily calmly stated.

“Actually I came here out of the kindness of my heart. Harry asked me to see if you wanted to do something today instead of just sitting here. And I being the ever loving person I am obliged him.” Snape answered as he fell into the chair previously occupied by Sirius.

“Hey that’s my chair.”

“Funny I don’t see your name on it.” The potions master said looking around the chair.

“Will you two nock it off.” Lily sighed.

“Right well do you want to do anything?” Severus asked.

“No I’m fine right where I am.” James said snuggling into his chair. The other two echoed what he said.

“Great so I came all this way for nothing.” Severus grumbled.

“Well actually we could use you’re help.” Lily said.

“We could.” Sirius said rather confused.

“Yes we could.” Lily insisted.

“And what prey tell could you need me to help you with.” Severus queried.

“Well I at least want my son to be happy and I think that will happen if he and Draco were to be open about their relationship. So since you know Draco better then we do you’ll be able to help us with it. And the fact that you’re a Slytherin and we all know that Slytherins are better at this type of thing then we Gryffindor’s.” Lily replied.

“That sounded very much like a compliment.” Severus said giving a small smile. “Alright I’ll help you but remember that I’m doing this for Draco and a bit for Harry.”


So that is why when Harry and Draco arrived home from work the conversation stopped as soon as they walked into the room. The two looked around slightly confused by the abrupt ending of the conversation.
“I guess you didn’t want to do anything.” Harry said.

“No but we did have a lovely chat with Severus here.” Lily smiled.

“I’m amazed that you and Sirius didn’t kill each other Sev.” Draco said as he suspiciously looked around the room.

“I do have some self control Draco.” His godfather said.

“If you guys don’t mind I’m going to take a quick shower before we eat.” Harry said before giving Draco a peck on the cheek and heading out.
Draco on the other hand placed his hands on his hips and glared at the four in the room. He started tapping his foot as if to say that he wanted some answers.

“Alright spit it out.” He said when no answers seemed forthcoming.

“What?” James asked as innocently as possible.

“What? What he asks. Do you think I’m an idiot Potter? Harry may be a bit on the naïve side but I assure you that I’m not. Now you four are going to tell me what it is that you’re planning before I get angry.” Draco said.

“Honestly Draco you’re over reacting.” Sirius said. “What makes you think that we’re planning anything that could have something to do with you?”

“Merlin you do think I’m an idiot.” The blonde exclaimed. “How do I know? Oh it could be that you stopped speaking as soon as Harry and I walked in. it could also be that you, Lily and James looked guilty as sin and the fact that you didn’t tell us what you four could possibly talk about that has you all getting along.”
Lily, James and Sirius looked at each other then at Draco and just couldn’t help but wonder how he noticed all of that.

“Draco we don’t think that you’re an idiot but we weren’t talking about you.” Severus said trying to throw his godson off.

“You used to be a much better liar.” Draco drawled. “I want you to tell me right now or else I’m going to go get Harry and tell him that you were all being mean to me saying that Harry deserves better.”

“You wouldn’t.” Sirius said shocked at what he was being told.

“I would if you don’t tell me right now.”

“Alright.” Lily said. “We were thinking of ways to get your relationship public since it’s what you both want.”
Draco stared at the red haired woman. Didn’t they understand? It was the public that Harry was worried about well it was also the Weasley’s.

“You sound just like Hermione. And like her you don’t understand.” Draco sighed.

“What don’t we understand?” James asked getting defensive. “We know that both you and Harry want to be open about your relationship what else is there to know?”

“Oh I think maybe the fact that the public wont be too happy about the golden boy going out with someone like me. I’m not exactly the best candidate for him. The public would want someone from a good family who’s all goody-goody. I can’t be that person. I’m the son of Lucius Malfoy, Voldermort’s right hand man. That’s all they see of me and they don’t want to believe different. And then there are the Weasley’s. You have no idea what happened when Ron found out that we were dating. He said that Harry had betrayed his friendship by going out with me. They didn’t talk for months and only did when I convinced Harry to tell him that it was over between us. Harry was heart broken and depressed when that happened. I love Harry and I don’t want to see him like that again so unless you can change the Weasley’s minds and views of me then I think you should just forget about what you’re trying to do.” Draco sighed before turning to his godfather. “Are you going to stay for dinner Sev?”

“Sure you cook much better then I do.” The older man said giving him a small smile. Draco smiled back before leaving the room.

“So what are we going to do now?” Lily moaned feeling very disheartened at the speech Draco had just given them.

“I think we need to convince Ron and the rest of the Weasley’s that Malfoy isn’t that bad.” Sirius said.

“And how are you going to do that Black if you keep calling him Malfoy?” Severus asked raising an eyebrow. Sirius blushed at that and then berated himself for it.

“Okay so our plan of action is to every time we see a Weasley we say something nice about Draco.” James said.


The plan had been so simple that it was practically foolproof but that didn’t mean that it was working. Why was that? Because the three that had a sway with the Weasley’s barely ever saw said people. This was frustrating a certain green-eyed witch.
“Harry why don’t we invite the Weasley’s over for dinner or lunch or something?” Lily asked her son.

“I don’t know.” Harry shrugged. “Where would Draco go since I know he won’t stay while they’re here?”

“I was thinking about that and I came up with the idea that we could say that we, meaning your father and I, wanted to meet Draco since we’ve heard so much about him.”

“And so I just invited my ex over.” Harry said. “I don’t think that would go down too well.”

“You never know. People do weird things for their family.” Lily shrugged.

“I guess.” Harry sighed giving in to the idea.
