Draco's Musings

CHAPTER FOUR

Draco Malfoy glared at his reflection critically. It was all wrong! He was going to see Harry today, not sit in a Country Club! With a sigh, the Malfoy heir threw off his satin black designer robes and vivdly blue silk shirt. Sifting through his wardrobe, he chose another vivid blue shirt-this time a sheer spider silk-and black cotton robes. Eyeing his reflection critically once more, he decided that it was perfect. The black \'cargo-khaki things\' (as his mother called them) looked casual, but not too casual, and-combined with the plain black robe-set off the blue shirt amazingly well.

When Draco was fourteen, he\'d developed a massive crush on Harry Potter. It didn\'t hurt that Harry was always nude, either, even if he was emaciated. Over the years, even as he brought other people to visit Harry so he\'d have a larger circle of friends, Draco had considered bringing Harry clothing-he\'d get wickedly jealous that other people were seeing Harry naked. What it came down to, however, was the fact that Draco liked that Harry was always nude.

Draco had, a month previously, decided that no matter how much he liked ogling Harry the other boy needed clothing. It was a miracle that he\'d managed not to be ill thus far-and besides, it was obvious that Harry had no interest in him. It\'s not like you can hide a hard on while you\'re naked, after all-Draco had enough trouble doing it through three or more layers of clothing! When he\'d asked his Aunt Bella, one of the few people who knew how he felt about the Boy-Who-Lived, how to judge his clothing size, she\'d teased him for a moment before asking why he\'d decided to buy Harry clothing now all of the sudden.

Draco explained his reasoning-he\'d never have a chance, and he wanted to care for Harry in any way that he could. Blushing slightly the entire time, he explained the lack of \'physical evidence\' that Harry had any interest in him. To his immense shock the older woman laughed at him. Soon it was time for him to rotate through his uncles, who also laughed too hard to give him a clear answer. It was Sirius who explained it (he always saved Harry for last).

\"Imagine what you had for lunch today. Now split that in half. Split that half into thirds. One of those thirds is what we get to eat at every meal-Harry is being underfed during his formative years. He simply doesn\'t have the energy to \'show\' you how much he likes you. Trust me, he does-you\'re all he\'d talk about if we\'d let him.\"

Coming back to himself, Draco examined his reflection one more time, fingering the collar of his blue shirt-one of dozens he had in that color. When they were fifteen Harry had made an offhand comment about how the color brought out his eyes, and looked really good on him. Since then Draco\'s parents (who also knew how their son felt, and were secretly trying to get the boy and his \'family\' out of Azkaban) made sure that their son had plenty of bright blue shirts to wear while visiting Harry. Deciding that he looked as good as he was going to, Draco picked up the stack of boxes he was planning to take with him to the prison that day. After all, it was Harry\'s birthday and he had a special gift for the boy he was in love with. As per tradition Draco had nearly identical gifts for his relatives as well.

In the private sitting room Narcissa and Lucius Malfoy waited eagerly for their son to join them. This particular day the three Malfoy\'s were visiting, as well as Blaise Zabini and Millicent Bulstrode, both of whom had already arrived. The elder Malfoy\'s hadn\'t seen the object of their son\'s affections in a very long time-three and a half years-but had a gift for him all on their own. After all, it isn\'t everyday that a young man has his Coming of Age.
