Chapter Four
Harry walked to Potions class with much less dread in his stomach weighing him down than usual. His relationship with Malfoy-, no, Draco was progressing even further and he was on a very secret cloud nine. He set down his bag in the dungeon and even managed a pleasant expression on his face as Snape started class.
“You’re doing a rather complicated potion today to cure problems of the sinuses and respiratory system. If any of your potions manages to be actually correct, Madam Pomfrey will be able to use them in the hospital wing. Since the potion is more complicated I am putting you into assigned pairs. Surely if there are two of you there won’t be as much mistakes,” Snape said, looking around the room, “Let’s have… Miss Granger and… ah Miss Parkinson,” the two glared at each other, “Mr. Zabini and Miss Patil,” Blaise waggled his eyebrows at Draco then smirked in Parvati’s direction. She turned red and giggled with Lavender, “Crabbe and Goyle and…. Ah Mr. Malfoy and… ah, Mr. Potter,” Snape said, smirking evilly, “The directions are on the board and you have the rest of the hour to work. Now get to it!” After looking and Draco and realizing he wasn’t moving Harry dragged over his cauldron to Draco’s table.
“Hi,” Harry said breathlessly. Draco’s eyes moved lazily over to Harry and he looked him up and down.
“Joy,” Draco said. He yawned and looked back at Harry, “Let’s just get this done so I can leave,” he said, getting out his potions ingredients.
“Surely after what happened last night you’d at least say hello,” Harry said, hurt. Draco’s head snapped up.
“Nothing happened last night, understand? It was just some sick dream you had,” he spat. Harry looked away, flushing.
“What the hell is his problem?” Harry thought to himself angrily, “One minute we’re together in an abandon class room, the next he won’t give me the time of day. Fucking prick.”
“By this time your potion should be an emerald green,” Snape said, glancing around the room. Harry looked down at their potion and sighed. It was a dull shade of magenta and looked very thick. He checked every one else in the room, seeing if anyone has progressed to the emerald green stage. So far only Hermione had, her and Pansy having split up as soon as Snape’s back was turned and working alone. Crabbe was attempting to read a book upside down while Blaise and Parvati seemed to be thinking about anything but Potions, their hands seeming very busy under the table. Harry glared evilly at them, a pang of jealousy shooting through him. Even if Draco did ever want to speak to him again, they’d never be able to openly share their relationship. He sighed. Just then, Draco nudged him roughly with his elbow.
“You could have just asked me to move, you know,” Harry said angrily, rubbing his arm.
“No, you dumbass,” Draco hissed, his mouth not moving. He nudged Harry again and motioned to the book open on the table. There was a small, scrawled note sitting on a picture in the book. Glancing up at Snape, Harry grabbed the note and put it in his lap to read it:
Meet me at the bottom of the marble staircase at nine under that invisibility cloak of yours.
Harry looked up at Draco and he gave a short nod. Draco motioned to toss the note into the fire beneath the cauldron that contained their sad potion, but Harry pocketed it instead.
“Kindly do not pass notes in my class, Potter,” Snape’s silky voice said from the front of the class. Harry blushed. “Give it here, Potter,” Snape said louder, his voice threatening. Harry tried to protest, but Snape was too quick for him, “Accio note!” he shouted. The note zoomed out of Harry’s pocket and into Snape’s outstretched hand before Harry had a chance to grab at it in the air, “Meet me at the bottom of the marble staircase at nine under that invisibility cloak of yours… Hmmm…Meeting a girl after curfew, young Potter? Have you finally matured?” Snape mocked, “Who is the note from?”
“No one, sir,” Harry stammered, turning redder by the second.
“Oh surely it must be from someone probably in this class…Come, Potter, tell us who. If you’re too proud and interested in your love affairs to keep them outside the classroom, surely you can tell us who else is involved so we may all keep up who you’re with,” Snape said. Most of the Slytherins in the room snickered approvingly. The voice of Draco Malfoy, however, was absent from the snickers and taunts, his usually pale face actually turning a faint pink. When the bell rang a minute later Draco got up and hurried out of the room without a backwards glance. Still beat red, Harry followed the suit.

Harry avoided most everyone from the Potions class for the rest of the day because he really had no desire to explain who the note was from. Even though Harry figured Draco wouldn’t show up at the bottom of the marble staircase at nine, he went anyway, quietly gliding under his invisibility cloak. As he neared the bottom of the staircase and saw a blonde head, his heart leapt. Draco had come! Harry softly came to the bottom and nudged Draco softly.
“It’s me,” he muttered. Draco gave a leap of surprise then nodded and started walking, motioning for Harry to follow. They walked into the dungeons again and Harry half expected Draco to go back to the class room. Draco, however, walked in the direction of the Slytherin dungeons.
“Stay right behind me and be quiet, understand?” Draco hissed under his breath. Harry nodded and soon realizing Draco couldn’t see him, quietly said yes. Draco smoothed down his hair, muttered the password, and walked through the hidden door into the Slytherin common room. The floor was marble and there were scattered mahogany tables around the large leather couches. None of the teenagers sprawled out on the couches looked up at Draco but Crabbe and Goyle bumbled over to him as soon as they saw him enter the door.
“I’ll be in my room for the rest of the night,” He snapped to Crabbe and Goyle, “I am not to be bothered by anyone, not even Pansy. Got it?” They nodded dumbly. Draco gave them each a look, then walked down a hallway and opened a far door and ushering Harry inside, locking it behind him.
“You have your own room?” Harry asked, his jaw dropping open.
“My father didn’t like the idea of me staying in a room with other, lesser boys, so he got me my own.” It was an open, spacious room with a large bed in the middle that appeared to have silk sheets.
“Great Merlin,” Harry said softly.
“Enough about that. You were a bloody idiot today and almost got us caught. I don’t see why you didn’t just toss the note in the fire. Are you that dim?”
“No I’m not,” Harry said hotly, “I guess I didn’t think Snape saw me reading it… and I wanted to keep it.”
“Why?”
“So I could have something to remind me of you till we met again,” Harry said, shrugging. Draco threw his hands up. “It’s not like you were any better!” Harry said, “You didn’t even talk to me!”
“I really think you are that thick. What would others think if we just suddenly started talking?”
“I don’t care,” Harry said stubbornly.
“Well I do! I have a reputation to uphold, Harry! I’m a Malfoy! Besides, we wouldn’t be the most accepted couple in the world in the first place.”
“You consider us a couple now?” Harry said, grinning.
“Yes, well, no, I don’t know!” Draco said, turning pink slightly, “That’s not the point! The point is you were an idiot and you’re lucky I still met you there tonight at all.” Harry shrugged.
“Now that I am here, what are we going to do?” he asked Draco casually, glancing at the large bed. Draco slipped off his shoes and stretched out on the bed.
“Whatever.” Harry followed the suit and climbed up on the bed, lying down next to Draco. The boys laid in silence for a few minutes, quietly enjoying one another’s company. Harry turned his head and looked at Draco, who was lying with his eyes closed. A grin playing across his face, Harry rolled over on top of Draco and kissed him softly. Draco’s eyes opened, then closed again as he and Harry kissed deeper. They both groaned.
“It’s been too long.” Garments were gradually shed as the boys continued kissing until they were rock hard and totally bare of clothing, skin on skin.
“Are you ready?” Draco asked Harry softly Harry nodded and closed his eyes, rolling over. Draco cast a quick silencing spell on the room before tossing his wand aside and reaching for a bottle of lube on the nightstand. After lubing himself up thoroughly and, much to Harry’s pleasure, Harry as well, Draco slowly slid into Harry, both moaning. Harry tightened up but Draco kissed his neck softly and he relaxed. Draco began to move faster, his breath quickening. Harry arched his back and groaned deeply, his eyes closed. Draco reached around and began to quickly stroke Harry. Soon after both boys came together, moaning each other’s name. Wiping his sweaty blond hair off his forehead Draco pulled out of Harry and lay down next to him. They held each other without speaking and gradually fell asleep, Harry’s head resting on Draco’s chest.
