Hermione entered the library and greeted Madam Pince before settling down in a bench in the corner. She definitely didn’t want to be disturbed. Taking her Transfiguration book from her bag, she slammed it in front of her. She was furious at what had happened to her during the past few hours. Damn. It was a very bad day for her indeed. How dare that professor be so unfair? If losing points were not enough, she even had a detention to serve now. Bah! Life was so unfair at times.

As she tried to concentrate on her book, Draco’s words came floating back to her. “You can hide all you want Granger but you cant hide forever” he had said. What the hell was THAT supposed to mean? Her past six years at Hogwarts was evident enough to prove that she was not the hiding type. But wait! How did Draco know that she had been with Potter at during her holidays? It was obvious that Draco knew that she had not been in her house. But how? And why would he of all people be interested in finding out where she was during HER holidays.

After Voldemort’s rise, the whole country had been under threat. There were mysterious murders everywhere and the muggle news papers were filled with news of natural disasters. And the muggle folk were complaining that the government was not increasing the security and using the technology to prevent these kinds of problems. In her first week of her holiday, she had been watching television in her house with her mother, when there were police sirens screeching down her road. They had rushed out to see that there was a body dumped in the garbage which was now being retrieved. Hermione knew that it was the work of the death eaters.

That evening when Hermione had been having dinner with her parents, she had received an owl from Dumbledore that she should immediately go to the Order head quarters without any delay. Totally confused, she immediately began packing wondering if Harry was in any danger.

The Grangers had been totally upset that Hermione had to go after staying with them for only a week. But they didn’t make any protests. They knew and respected Dumbledore and although they didn’t know much that went on in the wizarding world, they knew what ever the headmaster suggested would be for Hermione’s safety.

She had arrived at Grimmauld’s place and had immediately set off to see if Harry was alright and he was. So she immediately had gone to see the Headmaster and he had simply stated that it would be safe for her to be at the headquarters as Harry’s friends were more like a target by Voldemort or his death eaters. But Hermione had not been convinced at all by this but had just nodded and went towards her room. Ron, Ginny, and the twins along with Molly and Arthur had arrived shortly after. Unlike how she arrived, the headmaster had not ordered them to come and stay.

The trio was never allowed out of the headquarters during their holidays. All the shopping for their new term was done by Molly. But that was not the only thing that bothered Hermione. The order meetings were being held very often and went on for a long time. They were not allowed to those meetings either although they were of age. It seemed that they would be allowed only after they had finished school. But thanks for Fred and George’s ‘extendable ears’. But even that didn’t help them get in track with whatever was happening as Molly made sure that they were all in bed during the meetings. She even had warded their rooms several times so that they wouldn’t come out.

Several times during her stay in the headquarters, she had met more than one of her professors and that included the greasy git. If Hermione was present when Snape arrived or left, he usually paused in his stride to give her a hard black look till she blanched. At this, he smirked evilly and went on his way with his robes billowing behind him. She was very surprised at his behavior as he had repeated this at more than one occasion. Since when had Snape started to stop and give her a glare before walking away? But what else could be expected from him? He was Snape after all.

Hermione closed her book shut and let out a frustrated sight. She just couldn’t concentrate! The little incident down the corridor irked her to no end. Draco somehow knew that she was with Potter during her holidays. Not that it mattered. Almost everyone knew that Hermione spent half her holidays in the Burrow with Ron and Harry. But his statement about her hiding around caused her cheeks to redden with anger. She was a Gryffindor after all. To some extent, Hermione knew that Draco didn’t go around lying to people. In her third year, Draco was the one who had caused Harry’s curiosity about Sirius to flare. Of course, Draco’s intention in telling anything about Sirius was to lead Harry right into the murderer to get killed. The same should be the case even now.

If anyone had been looking for them they wouldn’t have found them simply because they had been staying at the Order headquarters which was a hiding place and it could be revealed to the others only by the secret keeper. Hermione paused at this. ‘Hiding place?’ she gasped. So Draco clearly knew something and whatever it was, it was regarding her or probably even Harry and Ron. Hurriedly stuffing the book in her overloaded bag and flinging it across her shoulder, she took off from the library at great speed.

Shit. She had to find Harry NOW!
