Eyes
Eyes
He knows, I can see it in his eyes. I caught him staring… or maybe that was me staring, but either way those depthless voids caught me and held me in their eternal embrace. I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t even blink lest they move away. He was reading me, I’m sure of it. Reading me like a book spilled for his pleasure and oh how I’d love his pleasure.
I can only imagine the expression in his eyes, I’ve seen bits and pieces of it now. The flinty edge that promises fire and brimstone, the soft relaxation of familiarity and comfort, the weary need for sleep after a particularly hard visit with He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named; I’ve seen them all and within them, those little twists that hint at a passion so deep and so pure that not even his tainted reputation could touch it.
I’ve pieced together those puzzles in the privacy of my bedroom and meshed them together into the sheer expression of desire I know they could create. I’ve seen him watching me with that sharp vision like a hawk on prey… I like to think of it more like possessiveness. He nearly had a coronary when Malfoy and I got in a fight yesterday. Obsidian waters were all I saw for nearly three minutes after being knocked flat while he tore into me. I wasn’t listening. He knew I wasn’t listening. I knew that he knew I wasn’t listening and we had a moment of understanding while I lay upside-down on the floor staring and loosing myself in those eyes, that piece of him that showed his soul only so much as any other bit of him.
The fastest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach and the eyes are the window to a soul… Neither of those are right. The fastest way to a man’s heart is with a three inch blade under the rib cage, he taught me that while staring me down after a vicious mental Occulmency battle. I only remembered because I saw pain in that stare. He hadn’t wanted to share that bit of him, so I kept it close.
As for windows… well, such things never really seem to apply to Snape that way.

AN: And to make up for the shortness of these two; a third follows.
