Sore Muscles

Harry was having a really bad day. He had one friend who wouldn’t talk to him because she figured he’d not want to after the way her and his other best friend had broken up and what not. Then other said friend was busy being angry at him because he refused to not talk to the other friend. Saying it didn’t matter what had happened between the two, that he and Hermione were still his best friends and he would hang out with both of them, though now at different times, instead of together, if he felt like it. And nothing Ron could say would change his mind. However, if Ron wanted to continue being a prat, he’d stop talking to him all together. Which led to more angry words on Ron’s behalf and him stomping out of the common room being short two friends instead of just one.

Sighing, Harry clamored after him, only instead of following him, he made his way to the library, where he was sure he’d find Hermione studying. He found her in the back, at a table by herself, emerged in a thick tomb. Sitting down at the table in front of her, he waited for her to look up from her book and take notice of him. He finally got her attention five minutes later.

“Hi, Harry.”

“Hi, Hermione.”

“So, you still talking to me?”

“Of course. Just because Ron’s a prat, doesn’t mean I’m going to be. You’re still my best friend, no matter what happens.”

Hermione gave him a grateful smile and talked to him for a few minutes before saying she really needed to get back to this book. Part of her detention was going to be writing and essay on the hexes she had used on Ron and Lavender.

“You mean he isn’t having you do something really horrible, like pulling the legs off of spiders to fill his private storage?” He asked with an amused gleam in his eyes. She put a hand to her mouth, muffling her laughter as she thought of Snape making Ron do that last night for his detention. Snape knew of Ron’s fear of spiders and would do anything to Ron pay for all the trouble he’s caused Snape since starting. And to also take out his frustrations from every other Weasley to grace his Potions class.

“No,” she replied, blushing a bit, “he’s actually quite nice. Last night, he let me go over the lesson I missed then told me what I’d be doing tonight so that I could be prepared to get it done faster so I wouldn’t be stuck there all night.”

Harry wondered at the blush covering her cheeks and going to comment on it when Ron came into view, seen them together, and with a hissed ‘traitor’, turned on his heal and left. Hermione gave Harry wide eyes, and asked silently what that was about.

“We got into a fight. He seems to think that because of what you did to him, I shouldn’t talk to you anymore. He doesn’t seem to think that what he did to you was just as bad. But I told him that you were still my best friend, also, no matter what, and I would still going to talk to you whether he liked it or not. And if not, I could always stop talking to him instead.”

Hermione just starred at him. She couldn’t believe that he would do that for her. She thought Ron was his BEST best friend. She gave him another grateful smile, and went back to reading her book, feeling content for the first time in over twenty-four hours. Maybe life wasn’t going to go down hill from there, after all.

After getting her reading done, with Harry by her side the whole time, doing his homework from the days classes, they headed to the Great Hall for dinner. Ron was no where to be found. Which no one could really blame him for not coming down. I mean, after all, a lot of his classmates had ignored him most of the day, appalled that he could hurt his not only his girlfriend, but the same girl friend that had been his best friend for the better part of a decade.

After dinner, Hermione said good-bye to Harry and Ginny and headed down the DADA classroom for her second night of detention. Upon reaching her destination, she lifted her hand to knock on the door when she heard voices inside. One was Viktor Krum, the other was a female student, who sounded horribly like Cho Chang, who had a habit of going after famous Quidditch players, namely, the seekers. First Cedric, then when he tragically died at the hands of Voldemort, she went after Harry. Now, since that apparently didn’t work out, she was going after Viktor Krum.

“Miss Chang! Please leave my class room. Ve Vill…. We.. Will… never …. Nothing is ever going to happen beyond a student teacher relationship. I have a detention to deal with now, so, please leave my class.”

Realized that Cho probably wouldn’t leave without a little help, Hermione opened the door and stepped inside. “I’m sorry I’m late, Prof. I got help up in the library. Did I interrupt something?”

Krum said no just as Cho said yes. Giving her a frown, he turned to Hermione.

“No, you’re not interrupting anything. Miss Chang was just leaving.” He shuffled her toward the door. She gave Hermione a glare and Hermione just smiled back at her and Krum closed the door on her.

“Thank Merlin you arrived when you did. That woman is a like a leech. She sinks her teeth in and doesn’t let go.” He mumbled on his breath, not away that Hermione heard him.

“So, now that you’re here, I trust you’re ready to begin? I seen you studying in the library earlier tonight, so I’m sure you know what you want to write.”

Hermione nodded and pulled out her parchment and quill and began to write her essay. Two hours later and twenty inches of parchment later, she was done. Stretching, she tried to ease the ache out of her back. Standing, she raised her arms above her head and arched her back, not noticing she had practically knocked Viktor right out of his socks. He had the mad urge to go swing her into his arms, carry her off to his bed chamber and keep here there forever.

Slouching, Hermione could still feel the muscles knotted in her back. Rubbing the spot, she groaned. Viktor snapped out of his stupor and went to stand behind her.

“Here, let me see if I can help with that.” She froze as she felt his hands on her back, kneading her tense muscles. Very gently, he used his thumbs to work out the kinks, the rest of his hands splayed over her sides and waist. After he worked the kinks out of her lower back, he slid his hands up a little higher working on the muscles above the ones he had just fixed.

Hermione sighed contentedly, her feet moving closer to him on their own. After working those out, he again, moved his hands higher, this time brushing the sides of her breasts in the process. Hermione jumped at the contact, but didn’t move away. Krum was ecstatic at being able to touch her. He’d wanted to for so very long. From the first moment he had met her. But times had been different then.

He leaned for and placed his mouth next to her ear and whispered, “I’ve never, not once, stopped thinking about you. Not for a single moment since leaving after the Tri-Wizard Tournament. Not even when I was winning Quidditch World Cups.”

He leaned down a bit further and placed a small chaste kiss on the back of her neck. “You have no idea how long I’ve dreamt of being able to hold you in my arms.” He turned her around, slowly, then lowered his head to hers, brushing his lips lightly against hers. When she didn’t jerk back or shout for help, or slug him, he kissed her again. This time sliding his mouth over hers, feather light, then a bit stronger. Deciding to be bold, the opened his mouth and slid his tongue along the seem of her lips, asking for entry. He shuddered when she surrendered her mouth to his seeking tongue and moaned at the contact of hers against his. He wrapped his arms completely around her.

Gently breaking the kiss, he leaned his forehead against hers and looked into her eyes. He frowned slightly when he seen the sheen of tears in her eyes.

Kissing her on the forehead, he told her, “I’m not Ron. Like I told you last night, he didn’t deserve you.”

She nodded. “But that still doesn’t change what has happened. I’m still hurt over what he did to me. I hope you understand. I can’t do this right now.” And with that, she flew out the door and ran back to her room. Throwing herself on the bed, she tried to hold back the tears that were threatening to break free. Why! Why did Ron have to go and be such an incentive lout? Why couldn’t Viktor have come along and stolen her heart instead of a red headed idiot?

*******************************************************************************

Viktor starred at the door a long time after Hermione had gone. What could he do to help her get over the heartache? He wasn’t sure, but he would think on it. He just had to find a way. He had loved her too long to let her go and get away when he might actually have a chance of finally having her in his life. Permanently.

Knowing he would be able to think more clearly with a refreshed mind, he went to his quarters, disrobed and fell into bed, Praying for a miracle in which to win her heart. Hermione was also praying. Praying for a miracle to get her heart back and unbroken.

That's it for this chapter. I just couldn't find anything else to add to it. I hope you enjoy it. And the other chapter that I added today. Though, I might be making some changes to the story... Not sure yet, but it would make things easier if Krum was a student, and not a teacher....What do the readers think? I can come up with a plausable reason for him to be going back to school as a student. I'd just need to go back and tweak the other chapters a bit. Or, instead of changing the chapters or whatever, he could just be the DADA teacher for some reason i'd need to think of and add that he also goes to school? I don't know. I just know it would be easier if he was at least, also a student. Let me know what you think? I would greatly appreciate it. And him being a part time student, at least, I could get more into a chapter and make it longer....
