Midnight Stroll
Harry stormed out of the castle, quickly peering into the Great Hall. Ron and Hermione were talking with eachother, laughing and oogling over eachother. Harry huffed and continued out of the doors. He strode out to the lake, and sat down. How dare he? How dare he push into his thoughts? Harry shook his head and grabbed a rock, throwing it into the lake. He shook with anger and fear - Snape would definatly go and tell Dumbledore on what he saw. How could I have been so stupid? Why did that memory have to pop up?! Harry swore, hugging his knees.
\"Ah...Harry Potter....we meet again\" an icy voice remarked from above Harry, as he blinked repeatedly. He couldn\'t see anything...where was he? Only moments ago he was on a battlefield filled with bodies, fighting with an unnamed Death Eater....
\"Wha...who...where -\" Harry stumbled on his words, looking up. As his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he could see the outline of a young man. His blood turned into ice as he saw Voldemort lean into his face, mere inches away.
\"I have been waiting too long for this moment, Harry. No one is here to save you, not even your precious Dumbledore. I finally am going to kill you, but first - \"
No. Harry was not going to let his mind wander to that particular event. He survived, didn\'t he? Harry sighed heavily as he let his head drop onto his knees. He liked to think he survived, but did he really? Physically, yes. Mentally? Emotionally? He didn\'t know. All he did know was that he was alive, and he should be grateful about it...or should he? He soon heard footsteps behind him, and he repressed the urge to get up and run. Where would he go? What good would it do? He curled himself into a tighter ball as he heard Snape and Dumbledore come up behind him.
\"Harry, my boy! What are you doing out here?\" Dumbledore beamed, but Harry could see the man was fairly upset. Snape looked livid. Harry didn\'t answer, he merely stood up and let his head hang low. Dumbledore put his hand on the boy\'s shoulder. \"Maybe we should continue this in my office?\" Dumbledore suggested, and Harry weakly nodded. He was too busy focusing on his stomach doing a gymnastic routine rather on what Dumbledore was saying. Harry followed the two older men back into the castle, and almost walked into Snape when they stopped infront of the gargoyle.
\"Bernie Botts,\" Dumbledore said, and the gargoyle sprang out of the way. The walk up the stairs seemed longer than it usually did, and the finally emerged into Dumbledore\'s well lit office. Albus motioned for Harry and Snape to take a seat infront of his large desk, and Harry took this as an oppertunity to hug his knees again. Snape sat down and folded his hands neatly in his lap. Albus took out a candy dish, and pushed it infront of Harry and Snape. \"Lemon drop?\"
\"I do not think this is the time to be offering muggle candy, Headmaster.\" Snape said, but Harry was shocked to see the man smile stiffly and pop one in his mouth. Harry shook his head and watched his hands begin to shake.
\"Harry, it seems that Professor Snape here invited you to dinner tonight, and something happened?\" Albus began, as he sat down in his own chair. Harry kept quiet. \"Would you care to tell me your side of the story?\"
\"Well, we sat down for supper and Snape mind raped me,\" Harry said bitterly.
\"Professor Snape Harry. And will you please refrain from such language? I can understand you are angry, but he was only trying to help,\" Dumbledore pointed out, while Harry just sat there. \"Professor Snape told me he saw you drinking at a bar in one of the memories, could you fill us in more about this memory?\"
\"No.\" Harry mumbled. He heard Snape growl a bit.
\"Potter, it is clear that you have gotten yourself in another sticky situation. The Headmaster is merely trying to help and here you are refusing it like the foolish boy you are!\" He muttered dangerously.
\"Well, we wouldn\'t be in this situation if you didn\'t decide to stick your large, crooked nose where it didn\'t belong would we?!\" Harry barked back.
\"No, we wouldn\'t be in this situation if you hadn\'t been skipping school to drink for your own amusement,\"
\"I DO NOT DRINK FOR AMUSEMENT!\" Harry shouted, bolting to his feet. He stared down at Snape dangerously, then looked at Dumbledore. \"There is nothing more to be said. It won\'t happen again,\" he managed to sputter before he turned and ran out of the office. Snape got up to stop the boy, but Dumbledore motioned for him to sit back down.
\"Let him go, Severus.\" Dumbledore nodded, and Snape sat back down.
\"Headmaster, I do not think it is appropiate for Potter to speak to us in that tone of voice,\" Snape said angrily.\"Nor do I believe that we need to continue trying to pry into his memories. He is obviously too stubborn to tell anyone about it.\"
\"So you think that we should give up on the boy?\" Dumbledore cocked his head slightly.
\"When you put it that bluntly Headmaster, it sounds a bit more heartless than what it actually is.\"
\"Severus, I still want you to try and help Harry. He is obviously struggling with something,\" Dumbledore stated as he rose from his seat. Snape sighed a bit. He then stood up and bid goodbye to Dumbledore and strode back to his chambers. He quickly cleaned up the remains of the ruined dinner, and sat down at his desk. He really didn\'t want to go after the boy. Not only was there the fact that he had grown to hate the boy...but he had grown to love the boy as well. Ever since he saw the boy, sitting in his class, playing stupid and getting points knocked off the first day...Snape loved him. He loved the way the boy would absent mindly chew his nails when he was writing a test or exam. He loved the way the boy laughed with his friends...but he hated the way he loved him. It was inappropiate to have feelings for Potter. Snape growled as he let his head drop to his desk as he closed his eyes. He really needed some sleep. And he really needed to find a way to get the boy to talk to him.
\"I didn\'t mind rape him either,\" Snape said to himself, as he heaved himself up and headed to his bedroom.

\"Harry!\" Hermione exclaimed as the raven haired boy flung into an arm chair, breathing heavily. Ron looked up from the game of chess he was playing with Hermione, and stared blankly. \"Harry, what happened? We didn\'t see you at dinner-\"
\"Again,\" Ron butted in.
\"And you look terrible!\" Hermione finished. Harry waved his hand.
\"S\'nothing,\" he stated.
\"Yeah, sure Harry. Of course it\'s nothing. The same nothing you haven\'t told us in the last couple of months. What has gotten into you mate? You haven\'t been yourself since You-Know-Who was killed. I\'m starting to think - \"
\"Well I really could care less about what you think Ron. I\'m fine, really. I\'m just tired. Night.\" Harry snapped as he got up and went up to the dorm. He dived into his bed and pressed his face into his pillow. He cursed into it, so that his words were muffled. He really didn\'t like the fact that Dumbledore and Snape were on his case now. First it was Ron and Hermione, then Ginny...now them. Soon the whole school would be asking if he was okay, and Harry was very close to pointing his wand at himself and muttering \'Avada Kedavra\'. Although he didn\'t exactly know if that would kill him. He didn\'t really hear about wizard suicides, and when he did there was never information on how they killed themselves. Harry turned onto his back and stared at the ceiling. He just wanted everyone to go away. Fuck off, to put it more bluntly. He was fine...or fine enough to still be sane. He heard Ron come into the dorm, and pretended to sleep. He waited as the hours passed and when he had made sure everyone was in the dorm and everyone was still asleep, he got up. Pulling out his invisibility cloak, Harry strode out of the Gryffindor Tower. He didn\'t know where he was going, and when he found himself infront of Snape\'s door, he wanted to bash his head in. He was about to storm off again when the door swung open and knocked him in the head. He fell to the floor and his invisibility cloak was dragged off of him. Snape stared down at him hardly.
\"And what do I owe the pleasure of having you laying infront of my chambers, Mr. Potter?\"
\"Your bloody door,\" Harry remarked as he rubbed his head. He slowly got up to his feet and grabbed his cloak, turning the other way. Snape grabbed his shoulder and whirled him around to face him.
\"Mr. Potter, not only are you strolling about after hours, but you are strolling about in the dungeons after hours. Either you are wanting points being taken away or you came down here for a reason.\" Snape said coolly. Harry really wanted Snape\'s hand off of his shoulder - it scared him to see the slimy bastard touch him so gently. Harry shook his head.
\"I just needed to get out of the dorm and I found myself here sir. I\'ll be off now-\"
\"Not that fast, Mr. Potter. 20 points from Gryffindor for being out after hours, and I will take off another 20 if you do not come in and take a seat.\" Snape guided the boy into his chambers and shut the door. Harry felt himself being steered into Snape\'s office and found himself sitting in a chair infront of his desk. He glanced up and saw an old grandfather clock, which told Harry that it was quarter after midnight. He mentally slapped himself. He was going to be very tired come tomorrow morning. Thankfully it was a Saturday. He watched as Snape sat down, and he rested his head on his hands, peering over at the boy. \"You made quite the scene today, Mr. Potter. Care to chat about it?\"
\"No,\" Harry said bitterly. \"I\'m fine.\"
\"Mr. Potter, I highly doubt you are fine. By the way you reacted in the Headmaster\'s office, I\'m pretty sure you are on the brink of self destruction. Now, I\'d like you to tell me why you have been leaving the school to drink at a bar. Which, I still do not know where this bar is located, as if it was in Hogsmeade you definatly wouldn\'t be getting in so easily.\"
\"Cant I just say I\'m sorry and that it will never happen again?\" Harry noticed how his voice had gone up, almost a squeak. He was obviously losing his cool.
\"Wishful thinking, but no. Unless of course you want me to continue badgering you about this until the school year is over. And considering that it is only December, I highly doubt you want a pissed off slimy git on your case until June.\" Harry shifted uncomfortably in his seat, and stared at his hands. Maybe if he didn\'t say anything, he could leave. Yet again, Snape ruined his plans. He felt Snape behind him and his head was jerked back. He saw Snape hovering on top of him, with a vial in his hands. Harry shook his head violently as Snape tried opening his mouth.
\"No! Get off!\" Harry screamed, but suddenly wished he kept his mouth shut. A cool burning sensation trickled down his throat, and his head was let go. He felt hot tears prickle at the corner of his eyes, and waited for Snape to start asking questions. Instead, he began to feel drowsy. Looking up at Snape, he tried to get his eyes to focus.\"Snape?\" he croaked, not liking the feeling in his stomach. He felt arms wrap around his waist as he was hoisted into another room. He was laid down into a bed, and felt blankets being pulled on top of him.
\"Sleep, Mr. Potter. We shall speak tomorrow.\"
\"Why am I staying here?\" Harry managed to say, feeling his eye lids drifting shut.
\"So that I can make sure you don\'t bolt off in the night.\"
Harry still didn\'t understand why he had to stay in Snape\'s chambers, but soon he succombed to sleep, snuggling into the fluffy pillows underneath him.
Snape sighed as he watched the boy drift off to sleep, and he plopped down on a couch. He was going to the cupboard for Veritaserum, but found himself grabbing a Sleeping potion. He didn\'t know what came over him, but he suddenly wanted Harry Potter to sleep in his bed. Snape shook his head, as he felt himself falling asleep.
\"God damn pervert...\" Snape whispered to himself, falling asleep with a smile on his face.
