A Walk in the Park
Bryn opened her eyes to a blinding light. Groaning, she took a mental stock of her body. Her head felt like it was under enormous pressure, her mouth was dry, her stomach was rebelling, and she couldn\'t see. Hmm.... oh, yeah, drinking with Sirius.
Whimpering, she rolled over onto her side and covered her eyes. Slowly pulling one finger away, she saw a little flask with a bright red liquid inside and a label that said, \"Pepper-up\" on it. She grabbed for it so fast, she almost knocked it on the floor before her fingers could close around it. Gulping it down, she sighed as the fiery warmth seeped through her body.
When all of her aches were eliminated, she sat up and grinned as she saw a note on the table. Picking it up, she read;
Last night was fun; we should definitely do that again. I hope this potion works well, you were in a bad way last night. I\'ll owl you tomorrow sometime to make sure you\'re all right.
Sirius
She smiled happily and glanced down at the big, furry mound at the end of her bed. He must have let the dog in before he left. Giggling as she heard a soft snore, she bounced out of bed and hopped in the shower.
She massaged her neck as the hot water hit her face. Thinking back, Bryn couldn\'t remember anything after sitting down in the Leakey Cauldron. Even before then was a tiny bit fuzzy, but after was a complete blank. They must have had more firewhiskey... a lot more.
Still, she\'d had fun. Sirius was very smart and funny, not at all what she expected him to be like. He\'d told her jokes and reminisced about his school days, making her laugh more often than not. He listened while she talked, asking questions about various things. What\'s more, he had been charming the entire night. Yes, she had thoroughly enjoyed herself. Now, she just had to wait for his letter and invite him out again.
Stepping out of the shower, she toweled off and went back into her room. The dog opened a drowsy eye before raising his head to watch her. She dropped the towel as she pulled out a pair of workout pants and a T-shirt from the dresser. Throwing them on the bed, she turned back and decided on what underwear to wear for the day. Putting on a blue sports bra and a thong, she bent over and slid clean socks on her feet.
The dog barked, startling her. She glanced back at him and knit her brow. He was wagging his tail and staring at her, so nothing was wrong. But why did he bark? Shaking the thought away, she grabbed her clothes off the bed and threw them on before heading downstairs.
Sirius watched her go, his mind still on the image of her bending over. He hadn\'t meant to bark, but he\'d forgotten he wasn\'t human at the moment and tried to express his approval. The thin piece of purple cloth that served as her underwear hardly seemed to have any purpose, other than to make men beg at a sight so divine.
He started to regret saying no to her the night before. After all, he wasn\'t sure he would get such a chance with her again and she had certainly wanted it. Sex with a drunken woman was just wrong, though, especially when it would be their first time together.
Heaving a heavy sigh, he trotted after her.
Brilliant hues of yellow, orange, green, and brown flew up in the air as Bryn slipped and fell in the carpet of fallen leaves. She\'d decided to take the dog for a walk in the park down the street so she could see what it looked like this time of year. She\'d lived in her little house for five years, but she was always working so she never got the chance to come here before.
There was a path surrounded by oak trees, all in varying states of shedding their leaves. Benches dotted the view ahead of her, along either side of the little trail. Starting out again, she felt her dog tug impatiently to go faster. She yanked him back, shaking her head when he yelped and growled at her.
“Well, stop it, stupid mutt.” She commanded, a hint of amusement in her voice. She spotted an unoccupied bench and they walked over to it.
Sitting down, she heard talking a little ways away from her. It was difficult not to listen in, especially once one of them whisper/yelled a warning about aurors being out. She had Padfoot get up next to her and pet him, feigning all attention onto him.
“Look, I don’t care what they did or did not say to the bitch, just don’t be so sloppy next time!” A male voice said.
A second, female voice cackled. “You should have seen her, Severus. Five years spent in training and the girl didn’t even know where to start. My cousin only escaped by a stroke of luck, next time he won’t be as lucky.”
Severus said nothing for a moment, then, “Well, I suggest you do your research. No one knows where he is, not even Dumbledore. Finding him this time might prove to be a bit more difficult than you can handle.”
Bryn heard leaves crackling when he said this and could only assume that the female was moving closer to Severus. “How dare you imply that! I have proven myself loyal and worthy to our master! Tracking him down won’t be hard, he always leaves a trail.”
The man asked, “Oh really, what kind of trail?”
“Do you think I would tell you, Severus?” Silence met her query and she sighed. “Oh, all right. He has always dated a lot of women. Sooner or later, I’ll find one of them and convince her to talk.”
O.o Cliffhanger! Hehe, what will happen next? Will Bryn be stupid and confront them? (Not likely) will she rush home and Floo Kingsley? (Probably) Or will she forget about all of it and just go shag Sirius? (I would) Thanks to all of my reviewers, I love the attention. John, I\'m glad you liked the way I answered your question. (Yep, that\'s what I had planned all along) Trauma, Sirius didn\'t die, he\'s tied up on my bed right now... speaking of which (or wizard, hehe) I\'d better get back to him.
