Dinner with the Potters

4

When Harry awoke, he imeadiately realized where he was and tried to get right back to sleep. Draco had spotted his open eyes. "Hey, can we go eat now?" He begged. Harry smiled. "Sure, just give me a few minutes." Draco pulled Harry's bangs back and kissed his forehead. "Ok, but I am going to annoy you until you wake up then." "That's ok, I don't mind at all." Harry grinned. "Oh really?" Draco said in a playful voice. "Yeah. Wait, no don't do that." but it was too late Draco had begun tickling him. Draco smiled broadly at his handy work, as Harry quiclly began a desperate attempt to thwart him.

"No, stop!" Harry was giggling uncontrolably, thrashing and kicking trying to get away. "Are you awake yet? Huh?" Draco was chuckling while Harry was trying to get his breath. "Yes, you big jerk. Now, lets go eat before you die, or something." Draco tossed him a sarcastic glance and they both went out to the kitchen.

"Well hello there boys, nice to see you awake." Harry's dad said as they came into the kitchen. "Thanks, Dad." "Must have been a tough day, eh?" Draco nodded and watched Harry fill up a plate and hand it to him. "It was bit, since our game wasn't that great last week." Draco said as he took a seat at the dining table. "I can imagine." Mr. Potter replied from behind a newspaper he was now reading. Harry shook his head and sat down with his own plate, right next to Draco.

"So Dad, when are you leaving for your trip?" Draco's intrest was peaked by this question. 'Leaving?' James huffed as if this was a tough subject. "I'm not sure." He eyed his son and smiled. "And besides, what makes you think I'll let you be here alone?" he raised. "Especially with your friend here?" Draco snorted and Harry flushed. "Geez Dad, why do you have to be so preceptive and weird?" "Probably because that's my job son." And with that, he went back to his newspaper.

"So are you going to come to practice tomorrow?" Draco asked, taking a bite of some meatloaf mixed with mashed potatos. "I don't know, I have a bunch of school stuff to do, I might though." Harry knew that he'd be there, he just wanted to play hard to get. "I'd like it if you were. I want you to meet someone." Harry thought about it and wondered who Draco meant. "Sure." He replied meekly, playing with his food, looking somewhat dejected. Draco found this trait of Harry's extremely cute. Without thinking he leaned over and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Try and keep it civil boys, we are in the kitchen." James interupted from his newspaper. "Geez Dad!" Harry whined. Draco smiled to himself. "He's right you know, I was totally just going to go for it, right on the table." Draco laughed and Harry's shock. "Oh good lord!" James yelled and got up and let in mock offense. Draco and Harry both laughed. "So, I'll see you at practice tomorrow?" Draco asked hopefully. "Yeah, I'll be there." Harry said as he took a bite of food. "Good, I'll see you around." He got up and ruffled Harry's hair and cleared his dishes.

As he went to leave the kitchen, he felt a hand grip his. He turned around and as before, a pair of soft wet lips met his. He opened his mouth a bit and captured Harry's upper lip. The passion showed a distinct consideration for Harry's shy nature, allowing him to lead the kiss. When they broke away from the Kiss, Draco smiled softly. "I'll see you tomorrow." Harry said quietly and Draco ruffled his hair again. As he walked out, he knew this was the right decision.

"So what is it you wanted to tell me." Ron asked, as he took a seat on the empty practice bench. "Well, you have to promise not to freak." Ron nodded. "I've known you for thirteen years, why would I freak out? It's not like you're gay, or something." Draco cringed, not much, but enough so Ron picked up on it. "Oh wow, holy shit dude. So then, whatever happened doesn't involve a girl." Ron said in a statment more than a question Draco just nodded. Ron sighed heavily, which made Draco cringe again.

"Look Draco, I'm you're friend. It doesn't matter to me what you do, as long as you throw me the ball alot." Draco chuckled, "You sure like balls." "Apparently not as much as you do." He gave Draco a playful shove. "I wanted to know if you would meet him, Ron. It would mean alot to me." Ron looked shocked, but quickly recovered his slacked Jaw. "Sure Draco, if it matters so much, I don't mind." Draco patted Ron's shoulder and got up to go back out and practice. "Jesus my friend, what have you gotten yourself into." Ron mumbled as he watched Draco jog to the huddle.

As Draco got to the huddle he seemed uncertain of what to do. This was the first time he felt really unsure of himself and he didn't like it. He looked over the group of players and chose a play to run. "Now, these guys aren't good at stopping our Tailback." He eyed Oliver wood, who grinned. "So, we're going to practice the screen pass." Groans could be heard from the wide recievers, especially George, who hated blocking for oliver. "345 Jet left, 364 y, X smoke. Ready?" Draco was now out of his worry, something about playing allowed him to forget that he just told Ron he was gay.

The huddle broke and Draco called out the snap count. "Blue 59 razor! Blue 59 razor! Hike!" The ball arrived in his hands and oliver, the second fastest man in the state was already in position. Draco released the ball and watched it float to Wood who imeadiately ran his hardest, leaving dirt and grass clumps in his wake. Snape had called an end to practice after the play and Draco was glad. He felt his arm might fall off and he still had three days till the game.

Draco was heading to the lockerroom when he spotted Harry. "Hey Ron!" Draco yelled to Ron, who was with a group of ofensive linemen. "come here." Ron came over to Draco, saying bye to the group he was with. "What's up dude?" Ron asked somewhat tired and out of it. "He's over there." Ron shrugged. "Ok, lets do it." Draco walked in stepped with Ron, over to Harry who was sketching something on a pad.

"Hey Harry, this is my friend Ron." Harry looked up at the six for five inch wide form of Ron, who extended his hand to Harry, who reluctantly shook it. "You're that guy that catches the ball alot." Harry stated with a considerate look on his face, as if sizing him up. Draco snickered at Harry's comment and recieved a shove from Ron and a stern look that would melt solid ice.

"It's nice to meet you Ron." Harry said softly. Ron looked at the kid in front of him as if looking for the reason Draco liked him, to show up in bright red letters. "Ron, this is Harry." Draco said into the silence between them. "Sup." was all Ron could muster of intelligence. He seemed unable to decide how to think of this. He thought of Dracom, then of Harry, it made sense. At least why they liked eachother.

"Ron and I are going over to my house to watch film, would you like to come over?" Ron stayed out of Draco's way, even though he Hated the idea of Harry distracting Draco from working. Harry looked up and smiled at Draco a bit. "sure, if I won't be in the way." "No, you'll be ok. Go wait by the car while Ron and I change out of our gear, I'll be out in a minute." With that Draco and Ron left Harry to go change, and Harry left for the car.

Draco and Ron had quickly arrived at the car so that Harry was not left alone too long, they had exchanged some words in the lockerroom and Ron looked very unsettled. Harry didn't pay much attention, Draco was the only thing on his mind. The three road in the car silently all the way to Draco's house. The silence made Harry nervous, he didn't like the quiet in most situations.

As they entered the driveway, Ron spoke up. "Ok, so we'll watch film until seven, because my dad will want me home for some college interview." "Ok." Draco answered in an affirmitive tone, but indifferent. When they got inside Draco put his arm around Harry's shoulders. "Would you like something to drink?" Harry shook his head. "No, I'm ok." "Sure?" Draco pressed. "Yeah, I'm good." Harry reaffirmed. "Well, you can have a seat on the couch. Ron and I will get something to drink and be right back" Harry nodded as the two left the room and he took a seat on the couch.

Harry looked around the room. It was covered in photos and sports trophies and jerseys, ribbons, some hats and a few signed footballs. Harry understood Draco that much more by seeing this. He was awakened from his thoughts by someone sitting next to him. Draco ran his arm the length of the couch behind Harry's head. "Well, now you can see how we work, Harry." Draco said pleasantly. Harry gave a soft smile.

He watched for awhile and listend to Draco and Ron discuss passing routes and good schemes. He tried his best, but eventually he fell asleep on Draco's shoulder and breathed softly. Ron told Draco and Draco simply moved Harry's head softly to his lap so that he was more comfortable. Draco was amazed and somewhat worried by the fact that Ron seemed all-buisness and somewhat distant about Harry. 'Perhaps that's a worry for another day' He thought to himself as he planned the next day's schedule.
