Disclaimer:
I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Don't Speak
Disclaimer: I still don't own anything of Harry Potter, and I still don't think Ms. Rowling would approve.
Summary: What happens the day after, do they pretend nothing happens? Or do things go on from there? Thank you all for the reviews. This is the last chapter.
Don't Speak
I woke up in an unfamiliar bed. The soreness between my thighs told me that it hadn't all been just a dream. I sat up and brushed my hair from my face. Severus Snape sat in a chair across the room from me. He was fully dressed in his usual black robes and his fingers were steepled in front of his mouth. He was staring at me with a little frown on his face. My heart sank.
"I-I'll just go. I'm sorry I disturbed you professor," I stuttered the sentence out. He just looked at me. I held the sheet close to my nudity as I scooted to the edge of the bed.
Snape just watched me. He studied me as one would study a particularly difficult mathematical equation. I placed my feet on the floor. I was looking for my nightgown. I didn't see it.
"Professor? Where is my nightgown?" A slow smile spread over Snape's handsome face. He didn't answer me. I stood and drug the sheet off the bed with me. I gathered it around me. I could feel his eyes on me. I walked around the bed, searching for something, anything of mine to wear. I found nothing. I looked back at professor Snape. He pointed a finger at a shelf behind me. I turned to look where he was pointing. One of my outfits lay folded there. I reached up to get it when the sheet fell. I blushed.
I started pulling on my clothes. Maybe coming here last night hadn't been such a good idea. I swallowed back the lump in my throat and the tears I refused to let Snape see. I bit my lip so that it wouldn't tremble.
I jumped when Snape's muscled arms surrounded my waist. He set his head on my shoulder and tilted my chin up to his lips. I pulled away from his kiss to look at him. He opened his mouth to say something. I stopped him with a finger on his lips. "Don't speak. I know just what you're thinking. I understand that you don't want a little girl around. I understand that we couldn't be together. You're my teacher." The last trembled as I said it.
My lips trembled and a tear fell. Snape brushed it away with a gentle thumb. He licked it off of his thumb. "Hermione—don't cry. Don't tell me it hurts. I wasn't going to tell you to get out. I was going to ask you to go for a walk with me. Besides, you're an adult now. If this is your decision I'm sure none would begrudge you. And stop calling me professor Snape when we're in private."
I swallowed again. With a trembling hand I reached up to stroke his cheek. I placed a tentative kiss on his lips. He buried his hands in my hair and kissed me deeply, plundering my mouth. I'm glad that he didn't listen to me when I told him not to speak.
Author's Note: These chapters, or at least the titles for them are based at least partially off of some of my favorite songs of the moment.
