Harry ~~
\"Shush Gin, of course. What are friends for?\" I climbed into the bed next to her, on top of the blankets. She moved over and put her arm across my chest, I wrapped one arm around her and reached over to wipe the hair from her face with my other.
Her smell made my heart ache.
\"I can\'t tell her...I don\'t even know what it is I feel...\" I thought to myself.
She nuzzled into my chest, already asleep. I wondered how long I could stretch this moment out for. I had a feeling it would be awhile before I had another one like this.
\"She\'s been so closed off. Secretive. I can only guess what she went through during her 7th year...what they did to her. I never meant to hurt her...I never wanted to leave her...I thought she\'d be safer, I thought they\'d leave her alone, but they\'ve destroyed her anyhow...\"
I fell into a restless sleep.

Ginny ~~
I woke up. Somewhere downstairs I could hear a group of people singing \'Loch Lomond\'. I could distinguish my brother Ron\'s voice easily.
\"O ye\'ll take the high road and I\'ll take the low road,
And I\'ll be in Scotland afore ye.
But me and my true love will never meet again,
On the bonnie, bonnie banks o\' Loch Lomond!\"
I inwardly groaned and began to sit up.
\"Hey there, hold on, let me help you...\" Harry sat up from a rickety chair next to the bed.
\"You\'ve been in here the whole time?\" I asked, incredulous.
\"Well, I did sneak downstairs about 20 minutes ago to grab a butterbeer...\" he admitted sheepishly, handing me a cold, glass bottle.
I grinned in reply and reached out to take it.
\"We might as well go join them. I feel much better...I needed sleep, rest. I\'ve been running myself ragged lately...trying to meet deadlines and all...\"
\"How\'s the whole photojournalism thing going anyhow, Gin?\"
\"Eh...some days better than others...it can be pretty stressful trying to get everything done on time...making sure they receive it...working on my stock archive. I make most of my income off of stock pictures, you know, sunsets and flowers and all that crap, than I do on my ACTUAL work. It can be pretty depressing. I recently started teaching some photography courses over at Boston College…to earn a little extra money.\"
\"I always sort of envied you for being able to give it all up and just live a normal life. As much as I feel our abilities are a blessing, I also see them as a curse. If I were normal, for example, my parents would still be here...I guess however they wouldn\'t have met...\" Harry trailed off, suddenly realizing his flawed logic. He chuckled to himself.
\"Yeah Gin, let\'s go join \'em downstairs...I noticed Hagrid was down there and I haven\'t had a chance to properly say \'Allo yet. Besides which, your brothers have been up here every 10 minutes to check on you.\"
I laughed in reply and climbed out of bed. I didn\'t have the heart to tell him the real reason I had given up magic. How fearful I used to be, how frightened it made me still. Ever since the Chamber of Secrets during my first year at Hogwarts...I\'d seen then just how dangerous magic could be. How a person could destroy themselves and so much more for selfish reasons.
Already, a dramatic beginning to something I could sense would be much longer than I had originally anticipated.
