chapter 4

Chapter 4: First day of Classes.

Harry woke up alone, not pleasant in itself. The one thing that made up for it was the sound of the shower running in the bathroom. A wicked smile curled his lips as he visions all kind of fun things you could do. But any plans for fun in the shower were dashed as the shower was shut of.

Lucius walked back into the bedroom, spying Harry peeking at him from the bed. A slightly disappointed look was on the boys face. Lucius had a feeling that he knew what the boy had been thinking.

“Cariad, you need to get dressed, you’re almost late for breakfast.” He laughed as a dark haired form disappeared past him. He went to get dressed. By the time he had gotten dressed and was gathering his things, Harry had gotten out of the shower and was franticly gathering his school uniform. Lucius stopped and looked at his lover.

“Harry, are you a wizard or not?” The boy was looking for his tie that was missing. Harry looked up and blushed, taking out his wand.

“Accio tie.” The tie flew right at him. Harry grabbed it out of the air. Putting it around his neck he moved to Lucius side. Strong arms wrapped around him and he looked up at the man he loved. Lips meet in a gentle good morning kiss.

“Good morning love. And yes I am a wizard, but I need to get used to being allowed to use magic again.” Harry smiled, “come on lets go to the great hall. I am hungry. “

“Yes we did work up an appetite didn’t we…? “Lucius laughed and lead the boy to the door. They walked to the Great hall in a brisk pace, talking quietly with each other. The students whom saw them looked a bit and there was a bit of titter tatter, but that had been expected.

They separated at the door of the hall. The whole school watched as the two kissed before separating, Lucius to the teachers table, and Harry to the Gryffindor table. Taking their seats they calmly set about having breakfast, seemingly not seeing the people looking strangely at them both.

When breakfast came to an end, teachers moved up and down the hall, handing out schedules. The 7th year Gryffindors, they were handed their schedules by Hermione.

*** DADA *** 08.30
Gathering in the refurnished Dada classroom, they waited for their teacher to join them. The desks were moved so that a large surface was cleared in front of the teacher’s desk.

Lucius walked in the door. Dressed in a style much alike professor Snape, but in deep grey. He walked to the desk turning around with a half smile on his lips.

“Welcome to Defence against the dark arts. This will be your final year. That means that this year we will be getting into the really serious magic’s. We will go into curses that most people wish they could ignore, and the defence against them. I will teach you to wound, I will teach you to block, and I will teach you to heal. This term we will work closely together with charms class, duelling class and potions. This class will be mostly theory and practise the spells, then in duelling class you will work with the spells in action. In potions, you will learn the potions needed to heal many curses. You will not be taught to brew some of them, but you will be taught what they are. In Charms you will learn to block, and in some cases even deflect the more severe magic’s that a simple Protego will not do…”

He walked closer to the edge of the desk and took a seat. His voice was calmly pleasant; his attitude reeked of the Malfoy arrogance.

“I am a stern taskmaster and will not allow any hijinx in this class. The first that pulls a stunt with me will be used as a dummy during the next class. Is that understood?”

The whole class looked nervous except Harry, Ron, Draco and Hermione.
“Yes Sir!” the quartet snapped out, sounding like they were in the army. A twitch of his lip was all that gave away Lucius amusement. He stood and walked over to the black board, tapping it with his wand, the chalk started to write on the board.

“Ha ha, very funny… Now turn up your books at the first chapter…. The family of curses we will be starting with are closely related to the expelliarmus – charm …”

The class settled in and started taking notes. Master Malfoy really knew what he was talking about. He quickly became a very popular teacher. He was fair and hard in his teaching. His style very similar to the potions masters. But he also had a wicked sense of humour and had a bad habit of cursing misbehaviours.

The rest of the day flowed quickly. They were given a very light load of homework. The group was grateful; it was hard enough to get back into the rhythm of school.

The 7th years quickly fell into the familiar routine. They had after all done it for 6 years before this. The classes were familiar but challenging and the castle a second home. Well in the case of a green eyed wizard it was a first home.

Harry and his friends found themselves in the great hall at the end of the day. Harry paused as he looked around the room and sighed in pleasure.

It was good to be back.
