Chapter Three
Chapter Three
Draco sighed. He couldn’t get Harry out of his mind. It had been one week since they had shared in the hours of passion at the club. After that night they had kept in touch, but their libido’s hadn’t once gone into overdrive as they had read the letters through the e-mails and the small notes left through instant messages on the computer screens. Draco knew he was playing a dangerous game, one that could take a turn for the worst any time though he didn’t seem to mind, nor did he seem to care. He sighed again as a small smile etched its way into his features which were normally branded with hateful eyes and an intimidating frown.
“Draconis, what is your problem? You have been staring off into space for the last fifteen minutes. What has gotten into you?” Morgan asked looking in bewilderment at her brother.
“Nothing Morgana. Don’t worry about it” Draco said.
Morgan’s mouth twitched in irritation when Draco didn’t even bother to look at her when he brushed her questions off. Her ice blue eyes continued to stare at the relaxed form of her brother -her older and normally rigid and emotionally void stone faced brother- until their eyes met. Her white teeth gleamed as a large smile found its way to her lips. “You’ve met someone haven’t you?” She asked.
Draco grinned. “What makes you think that Morgana?” He asked with his eyes flashing amber.
“Actions speak louder than words dear Draconis. And don’t you dare think of baring your fangs at me.” She growled out baring her own fanhs to show she wasn\'t afraid of a fight.
Draco’s lips curled into a devilish smirk. “What’s the matter Morgana, don’t like getting threatened by older siblings?” He drawled.
Morgana was the first to break into laughter. The twins’ staring contests never lasted long; the outcome was always the same always, Draco always won. “Come sit over here with me Draco. Tell me about her.” She said.
“Him.” Draco corrected sitting next to his younger sister.
“You haven’t claimed him yet have you?” She asked.
Draco laughed. “Yes and no.” He answered.
“The yes part?” She asked with an arched eyebrow.
“My scent is all over him. No vampyre in their right mind would try to do anything to him.\"
“The no part?” She asked looking at him.
“He’s still mortal isn’t he?” Draco asked looking back at her.
“What’s he like?” She asked.
“Well, his name is Harry. He’s 21. He can drink. He can dance, and he’s sexy. He’s also the one who called about Aryianna.”
“Well, if that’s the case, he sounds too good to be true Draco.” She said.
“I’ll cross that bridge when I get there Morgan, I won’t give my heart to just anyone. Even vampyres can get hurt.” He said.
“You know father won’t approve don’t you?” She asked finally. She sighed and paused. “I heard him saying last night that he wanted to arrange a marriage for me. No surprise there though huh?” She asked bitterly.
“You heard more than that though didn’t you?” He asked her.
“He wants to do the same thing with you. Mom told him not to and he got mad. They haven’t talked at all since last night after he told her he would and there was nothing she could do about it.” Morgan said resting her head on his shoulder.
Draco nodded wrapping his arm around her body to comfort her. “If it comes down to that, I’ll leave. I know mother would come too.” he said.
“Don’t forget about me Draconis.” She interrupted.
“I would never-” Draco stopped. His eyes were fixed on the cruel face of their father. Morgan sat up and fixed her own lifeless stare on the tall figure as Lucius strode into the room.
“There you are children.” He said calmly.
“Father.” Draco and Morgan answered together.
Lucius sat in an unoccupied chair opposite the twins. “You know Morgana,” he began with a tone of annoyance laced in his voice, “you are becoming a fine vampriss. I have had many offers from other clans for your hand.” he said. He smirked when she looked away and nodded.
“Have you taken any?” Draco asked with barely contained anger and a clipped tone.
“There you all are. Draconis, Morgana can I speak with both of you please?” A voice asked behind them
“Grandfather!” Both cried running into open arms.
“Hello children.” Giving an ‘I’ll talk to you later’ look to his son, Jack -named after the all too famous Jack the Ripper- ushered his grandchildren into the sitting room.
“Hello Lucius.” A woman’s voice rang out.
Lucius looked up to see his mother Elizabeth -named the Blood countess because of her love for blood- standing in the doorway. She sighed and took a seat in front of him on the couch.
“Mother.” He said nodding.
“You know why we’re here don’t you?” She asked.
Lucius stubbornly remained silent and moved his eyes away from his mothers.
“Lucius, this is not a world of the ancients that world is long gone. Do not force a dead world on your children. If you follow through with your plans, I will personally kill you myself.” Elizabeth let the threat hang in the air before walking off to find Morgan and Draco.
Draco and Morgan looked up to see their grandmother and their mother walk into the sitting room. Both were laughing and Draco noticed with a calm observance that his grandmother was looking rather smug about something.
“Excuse me everyone, I have business to attend to tonight.” Draco said standing.
With a nod from her mother, Morgan was out the door chasing after her brother. “Draco wait up!” She called spotting him as he made his way down the stairs to his room.
He stopped but he didn’t turn around. Instead he looked over his shoulder and locked his eyes with hers. “What is it Morgan? I need to get ready.” He said.
“Can I go with you? I haven’t been out in a while.” She said.
Draco caught the hidden message laced in her words. He turned to completely face her with anger burning in his eyes. “How long?” He asked.
She looked down at the ground when she saw the anger in his eyes. “A month.” She muttered never looking up at him.
“Are you trying to kill yourself?! Why haven’t-” He sighed and took a deep breath, letting it out slowly, forcing himself to calm down. “Don’t do it again alright? I hate it when you do this. Come on.” He said.
“I’m sorry. Thanks for not yelling.” She said quietly.
“You’re welcome. I didn’t want to sound like father.” he admitted.
Morgan smiled. “So where are we going anyways?” She asked.
“I’m meeting Harry at his house then we’re off to the local club.” He said grinning when Morgan chuckled.
“Are you going to change him Draco?” She asked suddenly.
“Depends on him. I’m gonna tell him soon.” He admitted to her.
“Please be careful. I don’t want you hurt again.” She said.
“I won’t get hurt. I have a feeling about this one.” He said.
“See you in ten minutes then.” She laughed and opened her door.
“I’ll be waiting in the hall.” He answered as they both disappeared into their rooms.
Draco sighed and looked through his shirts. He already had the pants and boots on. He grinned when he came across a black muscle shirt with mesh sleeves. It was a present from his sister when he had been trying to seduce a 24 year old Goth. Donning the shirt quickhe whe was surprised to see Morgan in the hall waiting.
“Twelve minutes and ten seconds.” She teased.
“I want to impress him.” He shot back honestly.
“Doesn’t love just suck?” She asked laughing when he frowned.
“You know dad’s not gonna let you out of the house like that don’t you?” He asked changing the subject.
Morgan smiled and donned her floor length trench coat to cover the knee high leather boots, the tan stockings, the leather mini skirt and the crimson halter top. \"Already one step ahead of you.” She said laughing as she threw a matching one to her brother as they made their way up the stairs and past the adults.
“Where are you two going?” Lucius asked them as he stood in between them and the door.
“Hunting.” Draco bit out. Dragging Morgan to the door, he didn’t even look back as the door closed behind then and the sound of a car engine was heard leaving the grounds a few minutes later.
