The Transformation
The Transformation
That afternoon Hermione looked up at the sky and noticed that the moon had turned full. Since it wasn\'t dark and powerful enough she didn\'t have to worry. She finished up her homework and after making sure that everyone would be okay while she was gone, she waited. Professor McGonagall came around and told the students that Hermione would be unable to help them out on whatever they had problems with, but when she was told that she had to go to the shack to change she shook her head.
\" I want to change here.\"
\" But, the students will get scared.\" Hermione knew that she was right, but she didn\'t want to change and be alone.
\" Please,\" she begged. The Professor sighed and finally gave in. That night she transformed and the screaming was enough to make the first years run for the corners. When the screaming stopped she came downstairs on all fours. If she was going to know the difference between her friends and just those that wanted to be around her because she was in Gryffindor this was it. Some of the Gryffindors thought that she was cute. She was pure black, with white paws and for the rest of the night Hermione spent it near the warm fire, sleeping.
The next morning she was still in her wolf form. One thing was for sure, being a werewolf was boring. She had nothing to do, but to think about her trip to Hogsmead. Professor McGonagall came in and gave her something to eat and she ate it without question. And so the Gryffindors had Hermione the werewolf for another day at least. Harry talked to her all about where they would be going and all the placed that they would be heading. Hermione thought it was wonderful, and she felt her feelings for him growing. She knew one thing, he was prefect for her, he understood that she couldn\'t help that she was like this, accepted her for it, and if she was lucky and wished long and hard for it, he would fall in love with her.
When she changed back into herself, she was alone. Harry had told them that she needed to be alone so that she could change in privite. When she came down showered and dressed she smiled at them. Her skin tone was different now that the change was over.
\" You have homework to catch up on,\" Ron told her. Harry thought for sure that she would be horrified but all she did was pull the work to her and start on it.
\" Thank goodness it\'s Saturday,\" Harry told them. \" Or she would be in trouble.\"
\" I agree with that, and Malfoy would love you to have failing grades.\" Hermione knew that Ron was right about that.
