Chapter 39:
Charlie snuggled in closely to Brianna wrapping his legs around her before casting the bubble spell. He was to guide the carpet but at the same he didn’t want to chance Brianna loosing her balance. He didn’t want to see what Harry would do to him if he lost his girl on the way to the chamber. With one hand around her waist, he raised the carpet and led them into the desert.
Brianna was surprised to see how many dragons there were flying around. It looked like there could be a pattern in the formation that they were flying in. But it didn’t make much sense. Why would they go through that much effort, unless they really were trying to keep people away from the chamber? She caught herself as she opened her mouth to ask, but she knew now was not the time.
Charlie had a hard time swerving around the dragons. He knew there was a pattern in their flight but he just couldn’t find it. And he knew they couldn’t fly close to the ground. He wouldn’t want to cause a disturbance in the desert sand and there were plenty of snakes down there tasting the air with their tongues, waiting for an opportunity to attack, which was another reason that they couldn’t chance falling off the carpet. They would be dead the moment they landed on the desert floor.
Brianna held on tightly, digging her nails into Charlie’s thighs. She bit her tongue holding her screams in. They came so close to one dragon that she felt his hot breath upon her face. The tears ran down her face as they swerved around one dragon into the next. She knew that while at Hogwarts, Charlie was an awesome Quidditch player. She was now getting first hand at how well he could fly. True, Quidditch was with a broom, but this was similar wasn’t it?
It felt like it went on for hours. She had to duck many times to avoid coming into contact with a wing or tail and flinched every time they came face to face with a dragon. Finally, they arrived at the chamber. Charlie guided the carpet close to the door which thankfully was off the desert floor just enough to keep the snakes at bay.
On the door, Brianna saw a round emblem similar to the one that Harry described that was at the entrance of the Chamber of Secrets. ‘Interesting.’ Brianna thought. Luckily, she had prepared for something like this. Hermione had coached her on what needed to be done. And, it took her days to learn what she needed to say in Parseltongue. She saw the spike in the center of the emblem. Taking a deep breath she impaled her palm upon it.
In Parseltongue she said “Open in the name of the Ancient Ones!” The snakes along the emblem started to move making clicking noises as it unlocked the door. Unfortunately the moment she impaled her hand upon the emblem, every dragon stopped in mid-motion and came flying strait at the door. Just as the door opened, Charlie flew the carpet in and slammed the door right in the face of a dragon.
“Keep the carpet high!” Brianna screamed as an Egyptian Cobra barely missed her leg as it attacked.
“Oh My God!” Charlie exclaimed. “There are Asps everywhere!”
“Fly towards that altar there.” Brianna said as she pointed.
“Are you sure? Don’t you see it’s also covered with snakes?” Charlie asked really not liking this situation at all! He hated snakes and Egyptian Cobra’s also known as Asps were highly poisonous.
“I’m in charge now, you just fly the carpet!” Brianna snapped. “Just don’t get us close enough to get bitten.”
As they were hovering above the altar, Brianna waved her hand in the air causing the snakes to fall off of it.
“Ok, I’m impressed, Brianna, but where is the dagger?” Charlie asked impatiently.
Brianna ignored him and continued, in Parseltongue, as she said “In the name of the Ancient Ones reveal thyself with the blood that we share.” She opened the wound a little more causing it to bleed freely over the altar below.
“Accept the power we share.” She continued as she summoned the dirt of the chamber floor, the air, fire and water. She placed them on the altar one at a time consecutively. “I ask of thee, revile thy Serpent Dagger.”
Just then Charlie felt the earth move and magic prickled his skin as the dagger appeared upon the altar. He stood in shock with his mouth open and couldn’t think of a thing to say. Listening to her talk in Parseltongue was really weird but this was insane. Brianna reached down and took the dagger with her bloodied hand and wrapped it up in the cloth she brought. She held it against her body and as she turned he saw her eyes were black. He gasped as he felt the magic enter his body. He grabbed a hold of Brianna and kissed her as he activated the portkey.
They landed in a heap in a secluded room and not once did Charlie remove himself from her lips as he pressed his body up against hers, pressing her back against the ground below. Brianna was trying hard to overcome the desire but at the same time she reveled in it. She had tried and failed for the past couple of weeks to control the desire that came with summoning ‘all’ the elements. And she would have had better luck if Charlie didn’t look so damn hot. She moaned in desire as he rubbed up against her. She had only known Charlie for a day and she couldn’t believe how hard it was to stop. She tried to push herself away but instead all she had managed to do was increase the magic to an intoxicating state. As he let go of her lips and attached himself to her breast, she gasped, burning with desire and knew that she had lost the battle. Charlie, blinded with passion, ripped at their clothes and entered her once he was able. The moment he entered her they both moaned out loud, shuttering their first release. He paused only briefly before continuing. He was gentle as he rocked against her, kissing her all over and caressing her, allowing the passion to build before he pulled her hips up to thrust himself deeper into her repetitively before they both cried out as he spilled his seed into her for a second time. Enjoying her tightness, he held himself in her until they both had the energy to look into each others eyes.
“I’m so sorry. It was the magic in the elementals. I have been trying to learn how to control it, but so far unsuccessfully.” Brianna said sadly. “I am so sorry.” Brianna said over and over shaking her head as tears trailed along her cheeks.
“Oh, Brianna.” Charlie said softly as he kissed the tears off her cheeks. “I am the one that is sorry. I would never want to hurt you.” He held her close until her tears vanished.
“But.” He said hesitantly. “I’m not sorry for myself. Your beautiful, Brianna, and you made me very happy.” Charlie said as he kissed her gently. He carried her over to the bed and he held her enjoying the feel of her. Brianna fell asleep with her head tucked into his neck. ‘It was a shame that she was already called for.’ He thought to himself. He stroked her thin back, caressing her bottom and kissed the top of her head before succumbing to sleep himself.

Harry, now attuned to Brianna’s thoughts after performing a bit of magic to bind her to him before she left, knew exactly what had happened. ‘Damn it!’ He thought. ‘GRRRR’ as he tossed a book across the room.
He was not sure that what they did was wise. Hermione insisted that it was important to know if ever Brianna was in danger. Unfortunately, he would see everything that happened to her when she was stressed or emotional in some way. They placed a charm on her panther tattoo as an emergency portkey to Hogwarts. As well as a homing devise charmed into her anklet tattoo so that Harry could go to her when the time was right for him to approach Voldemort. Hermione suggested a charm, but knowing Voldemort, there was no guarantee that she would even have clothes on when the time was right.
Well, the least he could do is appreciate how she tried to end it. She was so close to controlling it, it was only a matter of time before she mastered it.
He sat down in a chair to relive the extraordinary experience she had flying through the desert avoiding the dragons. How he wished he was there for that.

Brianna and Charlie arrived at Hogwarts late the next day. As soon as Brianna saw Harry, she ran to him and looked into his eyes before hugging him with all her might. She was thankful that he hugged her back without hesitation. Charlie reluctantly said his goodbyes and gave Brianna a gentle hug as he floo’ed back to the Weasley home. It was sad seeing him leave with so many things unsaid.
“I have the dagger!” Brianna exclaimed after a while, glad to change the subject. “You can’t touch it yet until the ritual, but we have it, it’s safe.” She said as she removed the cloth from around the dagger and showed him how beautiful it was.
“At the moment it’s attuned to me, but soon it will be in your hands.” Brianna said excitedly as she felt the power heating the blade.
Hermione looked over Brianna’s shoulder and took a good look. “I fear we must wait a few weeks before performing that ritual. I’ve done some research and it would be best if we did it at the lunar eclipse that is scheduled for March 13th.” Hermione said as she looked at the frowns on Brianna and Harry’s faces. “The magic would be stronger then. It will only be a penumbral eclipse, but and eclipse is an eclipse. And, it will help to produce stronger magic to bind Harry to the dagger.” She explained.
Reluctantly, they agreed and put the dagger in a safe place with many charms to keep it secure until they needed it.
