Just For The Sex
Chapter 37 Just For The Sex
Shortly after Harry left for practice, she went about with her rounds. She was debating on how she could go to see Professor Davis. There were so many cover stories she could use, most having to do with the fact she was Head Girl and he was her Head of House, but she thought that if Snape ran into her he would be able to detect the lie, as she knew he was looking for it.
Luckily, the person she was looking for was also searching for her. When he found her, he told her to come to his office when her patrol was done. Once her time was up she ran to her room and grabbed the cup, hiding it in her robes. She knocked at his door, coming in at his summons before sitting down at a desk.
He locked and silenced the room before speaking. "How is your progress on your mission?"
"It's only a matter of time before he asks me out. He kissed me today."
"He's kissed you before and it meant nothing." Boy, was he blunt.
She rolled her eyes at him. "I know that, but this was a real kiss when we got back from the Ministry."
"Ah, yes. McGonagall said you were crying when you got back but wouldn't say why."
"Oh, we ran into Mr. Weasley. He... well... his wife really, blames me and Harry for all the bad things that have happened to her family. He was a bit mean to me..."
"So they know?" the professor asked sharply.
"No," she responded increduously. "They don't have a clue. I skimmed his thoughts. Apparently he doesn't really buy into Ginny saying that I was out to steal Harry, which is the only thing she says. But Molly does. He thinks she's just trying to find a reason her children would betray them. He thinks Ginny just never got better after her kidnapping and they should have never let her come back to school. But, speaking of the Ministry, I have a present for the Dark Lord." She then pulled out the cup and presented it to her liason.
His intake of breath came out as a hiss as he took the precious item from his pupil. He brought it to a case in the corner of the room. After performing an intense unlocking charm, the case opened and he placed the cup into it, taking a matching cup from the other side.
"Thank you, sir," she said when the cup was put in her hands. "There is just one more thing. I wrote of the matter to our master, but have recieved no relpy. After this cup is destroyed, Harry will believe that the only horcrux left is Nagini. I cannot think of any way of stopping him from killing her. I do not want to see her get hurt and I don't think we would be able to swap her for another snake because Harry had not only seen her, but also has heard her speak. While he can be really dense at times this is one thing he really would pick up on quite quickly."
He studied her intently before replying. "That could be an issue. I'll talk to a few people and try to get back to you in a week or so. I'll see you tomorrow at the game." She bowed her head towards him and left for her room. She started trying to figure what spells had to be taken off the cup, as she knew Harry would be expecting for her to have started work on it.
He came to her room right after practice, his hair still wet from his shower. When he walked in, he went directly to the loveseat and flopped down on it, sinking into the cushions. "Tough practice?" He just grunted in response.
She moved from her desk to the loveseat, picking up his head as she sat down, placing it in her lap as she played with his hair. He looked up her, his eyes intensley searching her face for the answer to an unasked question. "What? Is there something on my face?" she fretted. He shook his head in response.
"Then is something wrong?" She had stopped playing with his hair and instead had her hand rested on his shoulderblade.
Before he could answer, Zabini and Pansy entered the room in a rush. Pansy had obviously been crying, and Zabini was seriously disturbed about something. The girl collapsed into one of the chairs, and the boy started pacing the room. Hermione warily glanced between the two. "Is everything alright?" Pansy started crying loudly at the question.
Harry was looking at the Slytherin girl as though she had grown an extra arm or four. Hermione leaned further over him to whisper to him. "Harry, you should go. I'll find out what's wrong and see what I can do to help. You should go get some rest anyhow. I'll see you before the match tomorrow." Now he was looking at her the way he had just looked at Pansy. "What?" she asked. "I'm Head Girl. It's my job to help people out when they're having issues."
"But they're Slytherins," he whispered back urgently.
"They're still people." He reluctantly got up and let her lead him to the door, their hands entwined. He gave the intruders a glare that could kill and left the room. When he was gone she put up a silencing charm in case anyone (Harry) was trying to listen at the entrance. "What happened?" she worriedly asked.
Pansy tried to speak, but couldn't get out any actual words through her sobs so Zabini answered instead. "Draco's missing."
"What do you mean exactly when you say he's missing?" she asked, her eyes narrowing.
"He went on a mission. The mission apparently was a success, and no one was killed. At least, no one that wasn't supposed to be. But he never came back. Narcissa says that she hasn't seen or heard from him in three days now."
"Three days! Is she sure that he's not on another mission or anything?"
"If he is, the Dark Lord isn't saying."
Hermione went to the chair that Pansy was in and squeezed herself in next to the sobbing girl. She leaned over and pulled the other into a hug, patting her hair with one hand and rubbing her back with the other. "It'll be alright, Pansy. I'm sure he's just on some really secret mission or something." She kept the girl in the hug, rocking back and forth making shushing noises.
Zabini looked on the scene in disbelief. He had never imagined a reality where Granger was... sweet... to Pansy and meant it. It was more than a little disturbing. He didn't know what to do, so he settled with sitting down on the loveseat, staring at the two girls. Pansy was now merely sniffling, letting herself be comforted.
Eventually Pansy wore herself out and fell asleep in Hermione's arms. "A little help here..." she requested, looking up at the Head Boy.
"No, I think I like this view."
Hermione made a noise to show she was annoyed but didn't do anything to remove herself from the other girl. "Zabini, you know he'll be alright. The two of you may have known him longer than me, but if there's one thing I know about Draco Malfoy it's that he will do everything he can to come back from wherever he is. Even if it's just for the sex." Zabini laughed, thinking that it was definately a true statement.
