"Severus... I... I love you."

"Okay, Adrien... Here is what's going to happen.-" Severus began, eyeing his son closely. "Hermione has agreed to this plan. She will follow behind using Potter's cloak, as Salia will... Hopefully not be able to see her through it. It's a bit more effective than a disillusionment charm."

Adrien nodded.

"I need you to stay behind. No,-" Severus snapped seeing his son about to protest. "-don't argue, Adrien... This is serious. The woman is unstable, and if she so much as touches you, it's very possible that I may never see you again. I can't handle that. You stay here." he demanded.

"Oh fucking fine... I'll stay right here, and do absolutely nothing." Adrien spat angrily.

"Dandy. I'm happy we're on the same wavelength here." Severus said sarcastically.

"We're off... Hopefully this will go off without a hitch, but I can't promise anything. If there is any chance that I do not come back, I want you to know that I love you, Adrien. You are the best son a father could ask for."

"Don't be like that... You're coming back." Adrien said, pulling his father into a tight embrace.

Reluctantly, the son released his father, and turned to Hermione.

"You make sure of it, Hermione. You bring him back." he said.

"I will, Adrien. You have my word." she said, hugging the younger Snape.

"Okay... Cloak, Hermione." Severus ordered.

The girl draped the cloak around herself and disappeared from sight.

"We'll be back, Adrien." Hermione said from beneath the cloak as Severus swiftly began the trek down the path.

"Are you really afraid of something happening?" Hermione asked Severus once Adrien was out of ear shot.

"Yes. However,... I hope it does not." he replied. "Hopefully it all works out in our favor, and I only hope she doesn't see you through that cloak."

The two traveled in silence the rest of the way, as Severus didn't want to be caught seemingly talking to himself. When they reached the Three Broomsticks, Hermione grasped the dark wizard's hand before he pushed the door open.

"Severus... I... I love you." she told him.

Severus closed his eyes, wishing he could hear her say those words over and over at that moment.

"I love you too, Hermione..." he replied with much sincerity.

The girl released his hand, and he pushed the door open, letting it linger for a moment so she could get inside. To the dark wizard's surprise, the place was in full swing. People all around, and even Madam Rosmerta was there. Ignoring the strongest urge to ask her where she had gone the day before, he simply nodded in her direction, and made his way to Salia's room.

Not even bothering to knock, he flung the door open and stood with his hand on the knob to allow Hermione inside. Salia didn't even look startled.

"Oh, well hello, Severus. I see manners aren't in your favor tonight." the Seraphim said; her ethereal voice causing an eerie tremor to go up Hermione's spine.

The pale-skinned green-eyed woman lay across her bed in a short black silken spaghetti strap dress; her large breasts threatening to fall from the failing captivity of the flimsy material. Hermione couldn't help but let her mind swim with jealousy at the sight. Evil as Salia was, she had to admit, the woman was downright sexy. The witch pushed it from her mind as Severus slammed the door behind himself.

"Where is my son?" Salia demanded, running a hand through her unnaturally long black locks that were spilling off of the side of the bed.

"He's stayed behind, Salia. As it turns out, he's not interested in joining you in any way shape or form." Severus sneered at her, taking note of a very strange scent he hadn't ever noticed on her before.

Instead of a lovely, heavenly, intoxicating scent, he smelled something comparable to the rosey smell of death and decay itself. Could it be, since he had begun to fully trust the young Gryffindor with his heart, that Salia's scent no longer held it's appeal? It was an interesting thought, yet the smell at hand was making his stomach churn. He quickly pushed it out of his thoughts.

Salia rolled onto her stomach, propping her head up in her hands while her elbows pressed into the mattress. Hermione was reminded of a muggle school girl gabbing to a friend on the telephone as she moved her lower legs back and forth through the air behind her. To Hermione's horror, the woman motioned to Severus with a long pale digit with an immaculate red fingernail. The dark wizard, trying to play it off as though she still had some ill effect on him, began to move forward. Once he was in dangerously close vicinity, Salia held her hand out to halt him.

"You stop right there, Severus..." She began dangerously, rising from her spot. Hermione watched with much satisfaction as the woman huddled at the far side of the bed.

"You've... You've got gold on you..." Salia sniffled, clutching at her chest.

It appeared the Seraphim was struggling to breathe.

"You... You really do want to... Kill me, Severus...?" she feigned being hurt by the idea, and Hermione almost felt sorry for the woman as she watched tears spring to her beautiful, evil green eyes.

"I will give you a chance to leave mine and Adrien's world, or... You can die, Salia. Your choice." Severus said, void of sympathy while gripping his wand tightly beneath his robes.

"Do you have any idea what will happen to my soul, Severus?!" Salia shrilled, fat tears pouring from her eyes.

Severus smirked. "I really don't believe you even have a soul, Salia. People with souls are generally capable of loving another without a single thought for themselves. This, is not the case."

"I... I would rather be blinked out of existence, then go back to the Seraphim World... It's worse than Hell. Believe me, I have been there..." The Seraphim cried.

"You will receive absolutely no sympathy from me, Salia. Not in the slightest." Severus warned pulling his wand from beneath his robes to hold her at point.

Hermione watched from beneath the cloak as the woman's expression changed to something horrible. She wrapped her hand around her own wand, preparing for the inevitable. Before she knew it, the Seraphim had made a mad dash across the bed to head for the door. The young witch threw the cloak off of herself, and stood in front of the exit, holding the woman at point. Salia skidded to a halt, and stared dangerously at her before she began to laugh.

"Oh... Oh this is just... Too good. Severus? The girl who supposedly loves you is a student? How sweet. How... Scandalous." the woman's tone was low and eerie.

Severus quickly aimed a binding curse at the Seraphim but nothing happened.

"Don't you know by now that I'm immune to such magic? You are powerless against me, Severus. Get out of my way, little girl. You don't want to get hurt, do you?"

Hermione narrowed her eyes at the Seraphim, and jabbed her wand into her jaw bone.

"Very well."

"No!" Severus demanded, but before he could do anything else, Hermione fell to the floor in a heap with a wave of Salia's hand.

The dark wizard's eyes grew wide in fear as he rushed toward the Seraphim. Before Salia could wrench the door open, she found herself being flung back onto the bed, and Severus was on her in a flash. He ripped the golden letter opener out of his pocket with tears in his own eyes, watching the green-eyes beneath him grow wide with genuine fear.

"This ends now." he cried.

"Severus,... My soul, please... She's not dead you can save her." Salia protested, eyeing the golden blade.

Without another moment of hesitation, Severus brought his fist down, and thrust the blade right through the evil Seraphim's heart, and moved off of her. He watched as she sputtered in pain, heaving gasps, while blood dribbled from her mouth onto the dark material of the bedding.

"You... You... My soul is forever damned..." she cried as she pulled the blade from her chest, letting it fall onto the bed. The golden blade glinted in the candle light, coated with the black blood of the Seraphim.

"My soul... Severus..." she sputtered once more before she went slack. Severus watched, eyes wide, as she seemed to burst into flame from the inside out. The body of Salia Halberstram disintegrated right before his eyes leaving no trace of her, what so ever. Momentary relief washed over him in a very pleasant wave.

That is, until he glimpsed the pool of blood surrounding Hermione's frail form. Once again feeling alarmed, he quickly grabbed the letter opener, stuffed it in his pocket, and rushed over to her. He grasped her wrist and disapparated with her.

Once again they were right outside of the huge iron gates.

"Oh, gods, no no no, Hermione! Don't leave me." he cried, waving a healing spell after spell over her body.

A black Panther showed up next to him, and immediately shifted back into the form of his son.

"What the fuck happened?" he demanded, eyes wide at the sight.

"I knew this was a fucking bad idea. Stubborn girl, don't you dare leave me..."
