Port Key

Six Months Later

Harry sat in his study gazing out at the grounds. It was late summer and everything was lush and green from constant sunshine and watering. Draco had had a Muggle landscaper come and put in an underground sprinkling system. Harry smiled at this thought. Draco had finally agreed that Muggles had a few good ideas that were not practiced in the Wizarding world.

Draco and Sirius sat on a blanket under the weeping willow trees reading his fairy tale book together. Callista, his ever faithful dog, was at his feet. Draco was now eight months pregnant and quite miserable, not that Harry, at six months, was feeling much better. Sirius had been proven right, and he was carrying twin sons. He was just as big as Draco, but not as far along.

He watched as Sirius threw his head back and howled with laughter. Draco grinned and leaned over to hug his son. Sirius laughed again when his father lost his balance and had to grope at him to keep from falling completely over. Harry felt sorry for him and almost went to help him, but decided he didn’t have enough energy to do so. He absently rubbed his belly and was secretly glad that this would be his last pregnancy. He didn’t understand how witches did this so often.

Harry stood and walked to the couch, deciding that he would lie down and rest for a while before dinnertime. He was just stretched out and comfortable when he heard a tapping on the window. He looked up to see an owl at the window. With a groan he heaved his body back up and went back to open the window.

Taking the small package from the owl he held out a treat from the treat jar beside the window used just for that purpose. “Do you need a reply?” he asked.

The owl trilled and flew away. Harry looked down at the package and saw,
To:
Harry James Malfoy-Potter
Draco Lucius Potter-Malfoy
And
Sirius Draco Potter-Malfoy

Frowning, he slowly opened the package wondering whom it was from. Inside was a message in spidery script and an old skeleton key.

Please use this key at 7:00pm sharp this evening.
Say the words, “I want to see my daughter,” and the key
Will transport you to a safe location for a visit
With Lilly. Do not bring anyone with you who were not
Listed on the front of the package. Do not be late
Or we will not be able to wait for you.
Arabella Figg

Harry felt elation coarse through his body. It had been a very long six months and the entire family had desperately missed Lilly. It had taken Sirius and Draco a month not to cry when her name was mentioned. For all of Sirius taking after Harry in looks, he was Draco’s son in personality. He was very reserved and standoffish. He was emotional, quick to laugh, quick to cry, and quick to anger. He was loyal to a fault and considerate of those around them. Luckily, he did not inherit Draco’s deviant side. He was too honest to be sneaky.

Harry raced to the door and slammed it open yelling for Draco. “Love! Love! An owl just came!” he cried.

Draco raised an elegant eyebrow to his husband as he watched him run holding the bottom of his protruding belly. “Harry, it can’t be good for you to run like that!” he admonished.

“Arabella has contacted us! We have a port key for this evening!”

“What?” he asked in disbelief.

“We get to see Lilly this evening!” Draco cried dropping to his knees and pulling Siri and Draco into an excited hug.

“Really, Daddy? We get to see Lilly?” Sirius asked excitedly.

Harry nodded. “Really!”

Sirius started jumping up and down in happiness screaming, “Yay!” Callista followed him, chasing him around in circles as he danced, barking and wondering what was going on, but enjoying the excitement just the same.

“Oh, Harry!” Draco whispered. “I didn’t think that this day would ever come. It feels like I have waited a life time for this moment,” he said with sorrow.

“Tonight, at 7:00pm. We shall see her then.”

“Where?”

“She didn’t say. She just sent a port key and told us not to be late. She said only to bring you and I and Siri.”

“Help me up, Harry, I must get ready!” he exclaimed.

Harry laughed. “You have three hours, Draco!” He knew how his husband liked to primp, so he stood and helped him up while he laughed.

“You should spend more time on your appearance, Harry!” he smirked.

“Would you love me more?”

“I couldn’t love you anymore than I do now, Harry.”

“So what’s the incentive, then?”

Draco laughed. “It would please me, and you know how much you enjoy pleasing me.”

Harry took Draco’s earlobe between his teeth and gently bit. “I could think of many more ways to please you then wasting my time in front of the mirror, my love,” he whispered.

Draco felt a chill run down his back and grinned. “Perhaps,” he said noncommittally.

“Prat!” Harry grinned slapping Draco across his backside.

“Don’t start what we are both to fat to finish, Harry.”

Harry grinned. “We could pretend that we were a couple of walrus’s. We could balance on our big bellies and make walrus noises.”

Draco burst out laughing. “You are demented!”

“I want to play Walrus, Daddy!” Sirius shouted as he still danced around in a hyperactive frenzy.

Harry looked sheepishly at Draco who rolled his eyes, and said, “What sound does a walrus make, Siri?”

“Ark, Ark, Ark!” he chanted.

The two men laughed. “You are so silly, Siri!” Draco said. “Come inside with me now, and we shall get ready to go great your sister.”

“What shall I wear, dad?” he asked grabbing a hold of Draco’s hand.

Harry rolled his eyes and shook his head. Draco was ruining his son. He was turning him into him.

“Are you coming, Harry?”

“Yes, dear,” he said.

“Dad, can I bring Callista with me?”

“Not this time, darling.”

“But Lilly would like to see how big Callista has grown!” he argued.

“I am sure that she would, however, Mrs. Figg has requested that only you and I and your father join her on this meeting. Perhaps next time.”

Siri briefly pouted and then almost immediately perked up again. “I can’t wait to see Lilly!” he shouted running ahead. He grew impatient lately waiting on his fathers as they waddled everywhere. He wished that the babies would hurry and be born so that he dads could run and chase him again.

“I wish I could still run like that,” Draco mused.

“You and me both!” Harry agreed.

At six the three of them sat on the sofa ready to go staring at the clock. They watched as it hit six-fifteen and then six-thirty. “What’s taking so long?” Draco demanded.

“You can’t rush time, darling,” Harry told him.

“Can’t we just leave now?” Siri demanded.

“The port key doesn’t work that way. It will only activate at seven.”

“Do you remember what to say?” Draco demanded for the tenth time in as many minutes.

“Darling, if you are afraid of my forgetting the words, perhaps you would like to say them?”

“I’m sorry, I am just so impatient!”

“You are always impatient!”

“I know, but I am really impatient now!”

They again stared at the clock. Six forty-five, six fifty, six fifty-one, six fifty-three, six fifty-seven, six fifty-eight, six fifty-nine.

“Finally! Quickly, Harry!”

The three of them grasped the key and Harry stated, “I want to see my daughter!” They immediately felt the room spin and the familiar sensation of being pulled from the middle.

“Hold on, Siri,” Draco shouted as they disappeared.
