Witch burnings in Knockturn alley
Last night Death Eaters burnt at the stake several witches and wizards associated with the wizarding underworld. The bodies of the three wizards and one witch were discovered this morning in the middle of Knockturn alley where it appears the atrocity took place. All of the body’s belonged to disreputable characters such as Mundungus Fletcher who were commonly known as crooks and law breakers.
The reasons for such an attack are so far unclear, however many speculate that this could be an attempt by the Dark Lord to seize control of the wizarding underworld. Some anonymous sources have claimed that these witches and wizards were of the few who were strongly opposed to he-who-shall-not-be-named in Knockturn alley. Yet there is no proof for these claims and it seems that the reason why the burnings occurred must remain a mystery. The Ministry asks that if any of the public has any information concerning these events would they please come forward.
