The Show
Ch 34 The Show
“Harry would you please calm down, you are making me anxious with all the pacing.” Loki said, turning to look at the obviously nervous young man, “The show will go off without a hitch, it always does.”
“Loki, that’s not what I’m nervous about, and you know it.” Harry countered finally stopping his pacing, hands on his hips, staring at Loki. “I just don’t know how Draco is going to take this is all.” Loki sighed, walking over and sitting on the edge of the small stage right in front of where Harry was standing.
“HJ, everything is going to be fine. Don’t stress about this. Help me finish up, we’ll do the warm up, you’ll make yourself all hot, and we’ll have a great show. Alright?” Loki finished with a smile.
“Alright, alright. You’re probably right. Let’s get this finished.” Loki stood, and Harry climbed onto the stage after him. “The sooner we get set up, the sooner the fun part begins.” They both laughed.
“Draco?” Blaise called as he knocked on the other boy’s door. “Hey, come on, I’m sure you look fine already, and we need to get going!” he chuckled when he could hear the obvious sounds of rustling and stumbling behind the door. “I know you want to look perfect for lover boy and all, but you won’t look perfect at all if you don’t make it there.” at these words the door sprung open, revealing a smiling Draco.
“What, I’m ready, let’s go. I don’t want to be late.” Blaise looked Draco up and down quickly. Though Blaise was straight as they come, and had a girlfriend, he had to admit that Draco was looking particularly hot at the moment. A sheer silver shirt lay unbuttoned over a black tank, which Draco had paired with a pair of boot-fit dragonhide black trousers and matching black boots.
“D, I must say, wow.” Blaise commented, eyes wide.
“Yea, I know. I wanted to make an impression.” Draco replied. “think it will make the statement I want?”
“If that statement is ‘damn look how fine I am’ then yes.” A cool female voice came from behind them. The two boys turned, “Come on, I’m already late. I wanted to make sure you guys made it there okay. Pansy went ahead with Cloe, since her dear brother needed to come back for you.” Cord said with a smile pointing at Draco. “the boy is right though, you do look hot. Now that that is out of the way, we must be going.” Cord walked in-between the two boys, looping her arms in theirs, and they all exited the dorm, big smiles on their faces.
Cord left the two boys at the entrance to the club, slipping off to the backstage area to finish getting herself ready for the show with only a couple minutes to spare. The boys made their way toward the table where not only Cloe and Pansy sat, but also Severus and some man that neither boy recognized. They watched as Pansy and Cloe seemed to be having a very intense conversation, for a moment Pansy seemed upset, but broke out laughing a moment later, so the boys figured out that she was just misunderstanding something.
“Look who finally showed up.” Cloe joked, “You are always late, little brother.”
“It’s not my fault we were late,” Blaise scoffed pointing at Draco, “He couldn’t seem to get ready on time.” Everyones eye’s flicked toward Draco, who just smiled and sat down next to Blaise. “So, when does this show start anyway?” Blaise asked after a minute of looking around.
“Not long now.” The stranger said, “I’m Ty by the way.” He said, introducing himself politely. “How is it that you know these trouble makers exactly?” Ty asked a broad smile on his face.
“Related, unfortunately.” Cloe laughed. “Blaise is my little baby brother, and Pan here is his girlfriend.” She shot a quick wink to the other girl. “And Draco, is a friend of the band.”
“Oh really? Which one?” Ty inquired, eyebrows raised in interest.
“HJ.” Cloe said with a grin.
“Painboy?” Ty shot a disbelieving look toward Draco, “Really?” he nodded slightly and continued, “Boy has taste.”
“Hey, how did we get a table so close to the stage anyway?” Draco asked, successfully changing the subject.
“Well, where do you think that all of the close personal friends of the band would sit? In the back? No way, they want us front and center. It pays to have friends in high places.” Just then the house lights dimmed, while the stage lights when up.
The stage lights went up, revealing two guitars, a bass guitar, a drum set, and a piano; no people. The stage lights came to a crescendo, there was a loud crack and all was dark. The crowd immediately began to become loud in protest, this was quashed quickly when music began to fill the darkened room.
The stage lights came on to reveal the scene, Loki behind the drums, Lucas finishing strapping on his bass guitar, Dex strumming his guitar in an intoxicating rhythm, and Cord: guitar hanging loosely around her as she surveyed the crowd before her. The audience who had been screaming and cheering since the lights came back on, began to quiet as Dex stopped playing and Cord raised both of her arms in the air.
“Where’s Harry?” Draco asked Cloe, brow furrowed.
“Just give it a second, Draco. No worries.” Cloe responded quickly, before returning her attention back to Cord on stage as her arms raised to call quiet in the room.
“How’s everyone doing tonight?” the crowed yelled again, and quieted again quickly. “Well that’s great to hear! We are The Pack, and we shall be your entertainment for this evening.” Another bout of cheering. Cord smiled out at the crowd for a moment, nodded once and turned toward the rest of the band, all of whom were watching her. The lights dimmed slightly, the band members were slightly in shadow, save one.
A spotlight hit a lone figure in the middle of the stage; long black hair covered most of his face. The figure slowly made its way toward the front of the stage revealing itself to be wearing a black muscle-T, gray and black boot-cut bondage pants, black boots, and gauntlets on his arms. Draco knew this was Harry, but something was different. He couldn’t put his finger on it, but he knew that something was different. He watched as Harry stopped about a foot from the edge of the stage, stopping directly behind a microphone, rapping his fingers loosely around where the mic met the stand. And he began to sing.
As Harry sung, his band mates played the amazing music that accompanied him. Harry’s voice was smooth, rich and warm, Draco thought it could probably had filled the club even without the help of the microphone. Draco could feel the crowd around him nearly vibrating with excitement, even though the song was slower, he could feel the energy radiating off the people around him. Though, as he felt this, Draco didn’t remove his eyes from Harry for one second. He watched the emotion play across his intended’s face as he sang, carefully detailed every rock back and forth between his feet as he sang, Draco couldn’t tear his eyes away any more then he could tear them out.
At the completion of the song, the audience erupted, jumping to their feet, screaming, and Draco finally knew what Cord had meant. Harry’s voice was amazing, and the crowd could do nothing more than fall into it and pray that he never stopped. Draco was beginning to wonder if the incredible things about Harry would ever cease.
