C34: Fight for the Prophecy

The Atrium seemed empty but for Harry, who went to the lifts slowly.

His invisible warriors searched it with spells, to ascertain, there were neither traps, nor enemies.

Harry was sure, he'd have seen either, but why risk anything?

By the time, he stepped into the lift, his team was already inside.

Harry pushed the number nine button and the door closed and they began to descent.

Seconds later, they arrived at the Department of Mysteries and made their way to the door, Harry had seen again and again in his dreams.

Harry looked at it for a moment.

There were dozens of wards on it, but all of them seemed deactivated.

He raised his hand and opened the door, then went in.

He found himself in a circular room, full of identical, black doors and went for one on the other side immediately – the wards on it were also deactivated.

When he opened it, the other door shut itself, but everyone of his group was already in the room.

The door led them into a glittering room, a few steps into it, Harry stopped and went rigid.

“Disgusting!”, he said in a voice, they had never heard from him.

It was deeper and resonating with power.

He raised his hand slowly.

Hermione looked and saw several time turners in a showcase, in that direction.

His hand closed and the showcase along with everything inside was crushed, ignoring the numerous protective spells and wards on it, as if they never existed.

Only seconds later, no artefact based on time magic was left in the room.

Harry looked at his hand for a moment, before he continued his way through the DoM.

All of his friends asked him through the amulets, why he did that.

His only answer was: “I'll explain it to you later.”

The next room was high as a church and filled with selves, which reached up to the ceiling and held small, dusty glass orbs.

Harry stooped and let his warriors spread out, well knowing, that they weren't alone in this room.

He had already seen several disillusioned Death Eaters.

He slowly marched up to row ninety-seven, while his warriors searched for the enemies with homing spells, preparing for the battle.

When he arrived at his destination, Harry needed only a second to find the glass orb, which was subbed:

S.P.T. to A.P.W.B.D.
Dark Lord and (?) Harry Potter

He slowly reached out, well knowing, that the disillusioned Death Eaters surrounded him, coming closer.

He closed his finger around the surface of the orb, lifting it from the shelf.

And then, from right behind him, a drawling voice spoke: “Very good, Potter. Now turn around, nice and slowly and give that to me.”

“I don't think so, Lucius.”, he answered and surprised the Death Eaters, when the orb sunk into his skin, leaving behind only a couple of silvery runes on his palm.

A dozen figures, cloaked in black appeared around him, their wands pointed at his hearth, when most of the Death Eaters cancelled their disillusion charms.

“What did you do, disgusting brat?!”, a harsh, female voice to his right screamed.

Harry turned to her, ignoring Lucius Malfoy.

“Hello Bellatrix Lestrange.”, he greeted her calmly. “It's nice for so many of you to be right here to meet me.”

The woman lost her patience and screamed: “Accio Prophecy!”

Nothing happened.

“I fear that won't work anymore...”, Harry mentioned. “Not since I've absorbed it into me body. Only I can give it free and if I die or the runes on my hand are damaged or disconnected from my main body, it will be destroyed.”

“Give it to me!”, Bellatrix screamed.

“No”

His answer was followed immediately, by a flash of crimson light, all around them.

Most of the visible Death Eaters fell to the ground, unconscious, along with around the same number, who had been disillusioned.

Left standing were only a few of them.

Lucius Malfoy, Bellatrix Lestrange and two other, masked Death Eaters.

“Dragon-leather amour beneath your clothes? Nice idea. I'll get some for my warriors as well.”, Harry said, wand drawn and already shooting spells at them, while evading theirs.

The enemies spells hit the selves, causing the glass orbs on them to fall down and scatter on the floor.

The rain of prophecies, was enough distraction, for the four Death Eaters to try and flee from their opponents.

Harry and most of his invisible warriors chased behind them, leaving only Moody and three more of them to search, disarm, restrain and guard the unconscious enemies, as well as rip of the right sleeves of their robes, so everyone could see their marks and remove their masks.

As they ran out of the Hall of Prophecy, the Dark wizards and witches casted protective spells on themselves, as well as a locking spell on the door directly after they were out.

The locked door was simply blasted out of existence by Harry, who was the first to reach that door.

He saw the last of his enemies flee through one of the doors and followed, destroying yet another locked door easily.

When he reached the next room, he waved his wand at the door, his enemies were escaping through, his voice full of power and rage, as he screamed: “Bombada!”

His spell hit the door, just before the last one of them could cast a locking spell on it, the explosion ripping it apart and sending the two masked Death Eaters too near to smash against furniture and walls, ending their flight.

Harry ignored the two Death Eaters, now incapable of even moving their broken limbs and followed the voices of his two remaining opponents calling out; “Wingardium Leviosa!” through a blasted door to a staircase.

Not wanting to let them escape, he let his magic lift himself through the air in the free space in the centre of the staircase, rather than climb all the stairs.

He arrived at the top and vanished the locked door to the Atrium, finding Lucius and Bellatrix in a hurry to prepare cover and wards, to help them overpower anyone coming through the small door of the staircase or the lifts.

Butt they didn't had have enough time, to do anything but transfigurate some low stone wall for cover and on weak Protego shield.

“Bombada!”, casted Harry once more at them.

The shield took the worst of the effect, but broke under the power of the young wizards spell.

Another flick of Harry's wand transfigurated the stone wall, the two Death Eaters hid behind into dozens of marble plates, floating up into the air.

Lucius tried to fight him, but a nonverbal shocker shot from the tip of Harry's wand to his forehead, before he could even take aim.

Bellatrix, as crazy, as she was, didn't attempt the same mistake.

“My master will kill you and your little friends, down there.”, she promised him.

“I don't think so...”, Harry said. “Why should he? You lot lost against a couple of school kids... and the two of you against just me. Also, you failed your mission. ... Well maybe he'll just use the Cruciatus on you for a few minutes... After all, he lost his duel against me as well.”

“I didn't lose anything against you, brat! Crucio!”

Harry easily evaded his opponents spell.

“There you are, Tommy boy!”, he teased the most feared wizard of his time, who had just appeared on the other side of the Atrium. “I was starting to ask myself if I would have to talk about your being a half blood, before you'd appear, Tom.”

He had to evade two more curses, while Voldemort screamed: “Disrespectful brat! I'll have you tortured, until you're glad, to hand me the prophecy, just so I let you to finally die!”

The younger wizard laughed, evading more spells.

“You're really funny, Tom. As if I would let you catch me alive. Bombada!”

Harry suddenly went completely calm, when he stated to shower his enemy in a rain of simple but powerful explosion-, blasting-, cutting- and fire-curses.

Belatrix tried to help her master, but Harry easily evaded the spell and send a nonverbal full body bind at her, without even looking in her direction.

Thanks to the distance between the two of them and their evasive skills, neither of the two seemed to be able to hit the other one with a spell.

That was until Voldemort shot his first AK.

That moment one of the marble plates above them shot down, into the path of the deadly spell.

The curse hit it and blasted a small piece out of it, but nothing more.

The very same moment, Harry stopped to say the incantations or evade.

Instead he shot all of his spells non-verbally with amazing speed, while the marble plates moved into the way of any of his opponents spells (except the one time Voldemort attempted to Imperio Harry, but that one didn't work on him anyway, so why care?).

Without even slightly slowing the speed of his spell-casting, Harry slowly went nearer to his opponent, who seemed busy evading, blocking and casting spells.

“This can't be all you're capable of, Tom Riddle!”, Harry claimed. “If it was, you wouldn't be called a Dark Lord!”

“True...”, Voldemort agreed. “but I don't use the full extend of my powers against opponents much weaker than I.”

“I see.”, Harry said, suddenly stopped to cast and let his magic lift himself up, to hide between the numerous marble plates and only shoot curses down at his opponent about once per second and never from anywhere near, where he had cast the last one.

Additionally to keeping him busy, Harry prepared some rather nasty surprises for, either when his enemy stopped playing around, or his own reinforcements (Dumbledore) arrived.

Harry was well aware, that his group had brought all their captives to the staircase and after leaving six of them as guards, (and taking the dragon-leather amour) were on their way to him.

He just hoped, he could convince them to wait out of sight, until Dumbledore was there.

He didn't want to sacrifice them to win.
