Chapter 30
Ali waited in the garden for Hermione anxiously. She knew something was off-kilter with her but she needed to seek the advice of a friend. It was at times like this that she really missed her mum.
“Oh Mum I need you right now. I have so many new things happening with me and I could really talk to you right now. I miss you so much.” Ali cried to herself.
As her tears flowed she was unaware of the mist flowing around her until she heard a soft, “Alexis.”
Her head snapped up and she gasped as the figure of her mother appeared in front of her.
“Mum?”
“Yes it’s me my darling. Oh how I have missed you,” Marion said.
“Oh Mum. How did you get here?” Ali asked.
“I’m not sure baby girl but you need me and here I am. Now what’s wrong?”
“Gee Mum where to start? Um how about the fact that Ash is really my brother, I am a witch with more power than most can even imagine and oh yeah I got married three week ago.”
Marion glided close to Ali, “Oh baby girl I know all of that. Your father and I along with your Uncle James and Aunt Lily have been watching over you since we all died. Baby girl what you and Harry went through you had to. It wasn’t just Harry that we needed to protect. Alexis if Voldemort knew about you and Harry then it would have been so much worse.”
Ali looked at her mum in shock, “What do you mean if Voldemort had found out about me and Ash? Mum what do you know that you aren’t telling me?”
Marion smiled softly, “Oh Baby girl I know so much then you right now. All I can tell you is to trust yourself, your husband, and yes baby girl you have to put Draco first. I know that you and Harry are close you always have been but Draco is who you were meant to be with. Lucius Malfoy came to your father and I to arrange a marriage between you two when Draco was two months old. We turned him down because we knew that Lucius was a big supporter of Voldemort but your father and I knew that you would end up married to him. As much as you need Harry in your life baby girl, You MUST have Draco by your side if you are going to even begin to think of winning this war. The same goes for Harry and Hermione. Trust them also and YOU and HARRY will win.”
“WHAT?!? Harry and I will win? Mum what the hell do you mean? Mum? MUM!”
Marion didn’t answer she just faded away with a quiet, “I will always love you baby girl make me proud.”
Ali sat back against her chair hard. “What in the hell had her mum meant when she said that she and Harry would win? She wasn’t prophesized to defeat Voldemort that was Harry. And how did her mum know that she would end up being married to Draco? How could her mum have known that?”
As Ali’s thoughts churned in her head Hermione walked in. Seeing Ali sitting with her head in her hands she softly touched Ali’s shoulder.
“AGGH!” Ali screamed and jumped up turning on her heel and raising her hand barely catching herself as ice started to come out of her hand. “Merlin, Mione you scared the shit out of me. Don’t ever do that again.”
Hermione placed her hand over her rapidly beating heart and laughed, “I scared myself by scaring you. I’m sorry Ali.”
Ali sat back down and laughed, “That’s ok Mione.”
Hermione sat down and looked over at Ali. “What did you want to talk to me about?”
“A couple things really. But first I just had an interesting visitor.”
“Oh really who?” Hermione asked intrigued.
“My mum.”
“What? Your mum? How?"
Ali shrugged her shoulders. “Honestly Mione I have no idea and mum didn’t know either but she was here and she talked to me for quite a bit. She said some things that confused me and that’s why I needed to talk to you. I figured that between the two of us we could figure out what her cryptic words were.”
Hermione eagerly leaned forward and said excitedly, “Really? What did she say?”
Ali grinned at the look on her sister-in-law’s face, “Calm down girl and give me a minute. She told me that it wasn’t just Ash that needed to be protected and that if Ash and I trust in you and Draco then each other we will win this war.”
“Well yeah of course we will all win if we trust each other,” Hermione said confused.
“No, Hermione she said that Ash and I will win.”
“What? You and Harry? How? You weren’t prophesized to fight Voldemort like Harry was.”
“That’s what confused me. How do I fit into the whole Harry/Voldemort thing? I’m powerful yes but how can I help Ash win. I don’t get it.”
Hermione grew thoughtful. “I don’t either but then again I don’t know the whole prophecy.”
“I do.”
“You do? How? Oh never mind Harry told you right?”
“Yeah he told me that night.”
“That night? He was so broken that he wouldn’t talk to anyone and then he destroyed Dumbledore’s office.”
“Only because Dumbledore wouldn’t let him come to Safehaven that night like he wanted. He called me on our mirrors as soon as you got back to Hogwarts.”
“So that’s why he was so angry. You couldn’t balance him.”
Ali shook her head. “Nope and Dumbledore didn’t help matters any by not allowing Ash to come to me. The old fool KNEW that Ash and I needed each other and he fucking knew that we were twins even if we didn’t and yet he still kept us apart. I don’t think that Ash will ever forgive him for that.”
“I think you are right. So what’s the prophecy?”
“The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches….. Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh months dies… And the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have a power the Dark Lord knows not…. And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives… The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies.”
Hermione’s eyes filled with tears as she realized what exactly Harry had to go through.
Just then a thought hit her and she jumped up excitedly. “That’s it!”
Ali also stood, “What’s it Mione?”
“The power that the Dark Lord knows not. It’s you.”
“Me?”
“Yeah you. You are the power that Harry has that Voldemort knows not. He knows nothing of love or closeness or being able to lay your life down for someone. Harry does. He would die for you and your power is the other half of his. You were meant to fight this war at Harry’s side. There must be some way that you and he can blend your powers.”
Ali sat back down. “If that is true then I have to keep what else I wanted to talk to you about a secret. If what I suspect is true there is no way in hell that Ash will let me fight let alone Drac.”
“What is wrong Ali?”
“I think I’m pregnant.”
