Lucius looked at the two full-sized dummies, a satisfied smirk on his face. He’d just received his and Hermione’s costumes, which had been custom-made by Suzy herself. They had matching color schemes to tie them both together. Even the crowns that he’d had her make were matching in theme. He would have to send a tidy tip to the young seamstress for her work.

This ball was going to be the most interesting one he’d ever been to. Between him and Hermione going together, and presumably announcing them selves silently to the world, there would also be the son of Fenrir Greyback accompanying them. And the devil in Lucius curled its tail in anticipation for the public reaction to that.

He was starting to worry about Daisy and her affection with Phelan. It was clear she was smitten with the boy. She had even started to put on makeup. Only the gods knew where she was getting it from. He’d have to talk to Hermione about it later…

Phelan wasn’t acting much different to Daisy. At least in Lucius’ present he wasn’t. Lucius had a strong hope that Phelan didn’t have an attraction to Daisy. He hoped he only stayed around until he called in his Life-debt, and then he went on his way.

He Apparated with a crack, and reappeared in the library. Hermione was curled up on the main sofa with a book, her bare feet tucked up under her. She was wearing those ghastly denim jeans, and a loose-fitting t-shirt. She looked up when he appeared, gave him a brief smile, and lowered her head back to her book.

“Have you seen Daisy, Hermione?” Lucius asked, picking up a book he had been reading from one of the end tables at the sofa.

“I think she’s down at the garden house. She said she was going to help Phelan learn how to dance. I think it’s sweet of her.” Hermione said. Lucius sat languidly in one of the large wingback chairs.

“If she spent anymore time down there she’d live there. Did she ask for permission?” Lucius inquired, his reading glasses zooming into his hand from across the room.

“Yes, Lucius. She asked me if she could go down. I told her she could as long as she was back up in time to clean up for supper.” Hermione said. She hesitated for a few moments. “Is that all right?”

“I suppose that’s fine, as long as someone knows she’s down there. I still don’t trust that boy.” Lucius grumbled.

The library was quiet, save for the occasional rustle of a turned page. This silence lasted for nearly an hour, before Harry peeked into the library.

“Oh! I’m glad you’re both here.” He said, coming into the room. Lucius sighed and removed his reading glasses.

“Is there anything I can help you with, Mr. Potter?” he asked. Harry grinned.

“No. I was just going to tell you both that I’ve decided to go back to Grimmauld place.” He said, looking very proud of himself. Hermione closed her book, and smiled at her friend.

“Really, Harry?” she asked.

“Mr. Potter, you are more than welcome to stay longer.” Lucius said politely. Truth be told the boy wasn’t the worst guest he’d ever had. But he was still annoying. Lucius was just playing polite host.

“I feel it’s time for me to move back. I really appreciate you letting me stay here until I got back on my feet though, Mr. Malfoy.” Harry said sincerely. Lucius inclined his head.

“Quite welcome, Mr. Potter. You weren’t that much trouble.” Lucius said. Harry laughed good-naturedly.

“I’ve got my things packed. I’ll be out of here by the end of the day.” He said.

“Very well, Mr. Potter. Know that if you ever need to get away again, you are welcome here.”

Harry nodded, and then left the library. Lucius was vaguely aware he was being watched, so he looked up to see Hermione looking at him, an amused look on her face.

“You are so full of crap, but that was very nice.” She said. Lucius raised an eyebrow.

“Well…I do try.” He said. She gave him a brilliant smile, and then turned back to her book. Lucius replaced his reading glasses, and went back to the book he was reading. The two sat in amicable silence, reading their separate books.

Phelan studied the book in his hands, his grey brows furrowed. He’d borrowed a book from Lucius’ library on simple ballroom dancing, and he was having trouble visualizing the steps.

He put the book down and lifted his hands as if he were holding a partner. He began to move awkwardly, his normal center of gravity making it difficult to move gracefully like the photos suggested.

“Maybe it would be easier if you had a real partner.”

He whirled around, fingers crooked into claws, to see Daisy watching him. She had taken to coming down to the garden house often since his comment on her looks. And he really didn’t mind. She really wasn’t as annoying as other girls. Besides, she usually brought food when she came.

“Stop sneaking up on me!” he growled, his fingernails retracting and rounding out again.

“I just thought you might learn faster if you weren’t trying to grope the air.” Daisy said, smiling brightly. Phelan grumbled bad-naturedly.

“I don’t need your help.” He said petulantly. Daisy laughed, and stepped closer to him.

“Come on. My cousin has been teaching me a few basic moves so I don’t look like a tard on the dance floor.” She said, holding up her hands to assume a dance position. He took her into his arms as the book instructed, but her eyes widened slightly when he put his hand on the small of her back.

“Am I doing it wrong?” Phelan asked, looking at her face.

“No. You’re doing f-fine.” She said.

They began to move together, Phelan taking the lead, and both found that a partner made things easier. Daisy had been learning from Lucius, who all but towered over her. He was built to where his hand rested just below her shoulder blades. It was awkward to dance with someone that much larger than oneself. Phelan had been dancing with air. It was difficult to dance with no partner at all.

Daisy and Phelan were similar in stature. Phelan wasn’t awesomely tall like Lucius, but he was built much sturdier than the lean blonde. Daisy was rather petite and short, having gotten her own physical stature from her mother.

“Am I still doing well?” Phelan asked. Daisy looked up at him, and gave him a brilliant smile.

“You’re doing perfectly.” She said. Phelan came as close to beaming as he ever had in his life. He gave a proud, self-satisfied smile. Daisy felt her cheeks warming slightly. She was pressed against a very fine specimen of male, who had already said she was pretty. Yup..it didn’t get much more awkward.

Phelan’s nose twitched, and he looked down at Daisy. She was putting off pheromones again, and her cheeks were pink. She enjoyed his presence, then. He hadn’t lied. She was a very pretty girl. She would be a knockout when she grew out of her awkward tween years. She smelled so good…

He leaned his head forward unconsciously to get a closer whiff of her. She swallowed hard, and her lips parted slightly.

“Would you mind it very much if I kissed you?” Phelan asked softly, still holding her as they moved to silent music.

“Not at all.” Daisy whispered. Phelan leaned his head forward more, the pleasant scent of a happy female making him feel a bit light-headed. Daisy tilted her head up to meet him, unsure of what to do with her mouth. Puckering up seemed silly. She’d never seen anyone do it in the movies. Even when she’d witnessed her mother and father kiss, neither had puckered their lips. So she left her lips slightly parted.

Phelan’s lips brushed hers lightly, before he pressed their lips together. The kiss was innocent enough, merely a meeting of lips, but to the two teens it was the embodiment of heaven. Phelan pulled back after a few moments, and Daisy swallowed hard again. She pulled away from his grasp slowly, a dazed look on her face.

“I should go. My c-cousin will worry.” She said unconvincingly. Phelan nodded silently, and she turned and started to walk away. Her hand came up to touch her lips, which were tingling pleasantly.

Wow…her first kiss…

Fenrir watched from the bushes, the hair on the back of his neck standing on end. It took every bit of self control he had not to jump from the bushes and charge the little tart down. The nerve of both of them! Neither should be fraternizing like this…if Phelan kept it up he’d be no better than that whining bitch Lupin.

It had given him great pleasure to deal with Lupin and his little Changeling whore. Although for the life of him he couldn’t figure out what they’d done with Lupin’s body. He’d wanted to at least urinate on him before he skedaddled the final time, but by that time the lad’s body was gone. Ah well, it was probably Potter moving the last of his father’s best friends. Hah!

Phelan stood still for several minutes, before he leaned down to pick up his book. He closed it gently, and walked to the front door of the garden house. He entered without another glance around, and shut the door behind him.

Fenrir was furious! The boy was turning into a lovesick puppy.

He growled. It was a deep, resounding, ferocious sound, and every bit of wildlife close enough to hear it stopped their movements immediately. He was going to have to kill the boy. Phelan wasn’t going to be fit to be a decent Alpha with his cock caught in a human girl’s pussy. He needed a strong Were female to bear him cubs and keep him satisfied.

He would make his move at this Ball Phelan kept tittering to himself about. The boy had even learned to dance for this thing! He had cut his hair. He was wearing decent clothes, as though the clothes he had been given by his father weren’t good enough.

He was abandoning every aspect of his Lycan life to fuck around with Lucius Malfoy. Very well. There would be a nasty surprise for everyone.

Oh noes, Fenrir. DOn't be such a meany face! This doesn't bode well for anyone, does it? A....I guess we'll have to find out in the next chapter. The ball will start up next chapter. They will be there for a few chapters.
