Chapter Twenty-Four

Avalon Castle: Throne Room

It was still hours before the ceremony, however guests had already began pouring into the castle. Among them were members of the American Ministry and High Counsel of Magic, those who known as the advisors to the King himself. The Lords and Ladies of Avalon with their families were also starting to arrive, closely followed by many Magical Beings as well. No one wanted to miss what was deemed the wedding of the century.

Lord Zion was standing off to the side watching all the mortals make their way toward seats. He noticed some were glancing around in hopes of seeing some part of the Royal Court. Knowing this wedding meant so much to the people of Avalon, he could not help the smug smirk that graced his lips. They had no idea this wedding almost did not happen.

“What has so smug cousin?” Came the voice of Ryden as he caught the look cross Zion’s face.

Zion lifted his chin toward the mortals, “Mortals are a strange lot, Ryden. They’re only looking at the fact the new King is to wed. That is all many of them are thinking. No knowledge of what may have happened if this wedding had been postponed.”

“Postponed, do tell cousin.” Smirked Ryden as he glanced around the room. He had not heard of anything that would cause that to happen.

“The King will need to address the issue of rumors when this over. The last one caused by one of our own, caused the consort to lash out. I however am grateful the issue is beginning to be addressed.”

“Who would be so foolish to disrupt a soul match?” Rayden’s eyes narrowed, he may not have known the young couple that was to wed well. However, for one of their own people to cause them harm angered him.

“Not just a soul matches cousin, an immortal one as well. That in itself still causes my smugness, for I do not feel the two realize this. However as for your question it was Kai.” Zion stated calmly, he knew that Rayden and Kai had their own issues left to settle.

Rayden hissed at the knowledge of Kai being the cause. Wanting nothing more than to put the fledgling in his place. More so now than before. He was also the one that caused his mate to leave him for another, a mortal at that. “Where is he?”

Zion shrugged in a way letting Rayden know he had no knowledge of Kai’s whereabouts. Before walking away to check on the young one’s. He needed to make sure all was well with Lord Kage’s magic before this wedding.

Aiden’s chambers

Aiden was being fussed over by two dozen servants. Causing his nerves to become worse by the minute. He still did not think having this wedding today was a good thing. When he woke to a warm room but cold bed, the thoughts of the last several days had hit him hard. Sure, he loved Wyatt but did not know what to do now. He felt numb again and there was still a bit of him that wanted to run away from the whole thing.

“Stop fidgeting Aiden, this was your choice to marry the King. As I’ve heard from you that you could have walked away.” snarled Severus, he did not like the fact of being the one to take the place of Aiden’s father for this ceremony. However, could not deny the boy’s request.

“Severus you’re not helping.” Hissed Aiden as half of his hair was pulled into a braid.

“It is not my nature to help. Have you fixed the issues with your magic yet? I can still feel it wavering.” Severus stated as he moved two of the servants away to stare into Aiden’s eyes. He could see pain there as well as fear. Fear of what Severus did not know. “Do you regret your decision?”

Aiden’s head jerked to the side trying to look away. However, pulled back by Severus’s hands holding onto his face. “I betrayed him, Severus. Why would he still want me?”

“What you did was not betrayal Aiden. You did what you thought was expected of you. I tried to get you to understand, but ever the Gryffindor you are did not listen. “Severus exclaimed as he continued to hold the boy’s face. While Aiden still tried to pull away, knowing the boy was hurting Severus continued.

“From the time you became aware of being a wizard. You were thrown into a world that expected you to save it. Too much placed on your shoulders without someone to guide you, myself included. I should have been there for you from the beginning, but I couldn’t see past my hatred for your father to do so.” Severus stopped and turned sharply to bark at the servants to leave them. In addition, when they were alone again he turned his attention back on the boy that looked so broken. It hurt him that he could not fix him.

Aiden was blinking rapidly trying not to let the tears fall. He did not blame Severus for not being there for him. It was enough the man was there for him now. He was about to speak when the scowling look on Severus’s face caused him to remain silent.

“But I made a vow to protect you and I will even if it’s from yourself. It took you being imprisoned for me to see that you were nothing like your father. You are strong in your own right. You became the first High Sorcerer in centuries by your own merit. I have a high respect for you Aiden, do not make me lose it because you’re afraid of looking weak to the people of Avalon, because of the love you feel for their King.” Severus stopped taking a deep breath, which confession took a lot for him to admit too. Nevertheless, he knew that Aiden needed to hear it, if for nothing else but to know someone would always be there when he faltered.

“Thank You!” Aiden whispered as his magic steadied, he was not sure if what Severus said had caused the sudden strength, he felt or not. However, it was nice to have the mans respect and he would do anything to keep it.

Severus nodded sharply before yelling the servants back inside to finish their jobs. Before standing back along the wall out of the way. He did not know they had an audience while he spoke to Aiden. For if he did he would have hexed them.

Zion was standing in the shadows listening to the Potions Master bare his soul out to the consort. He began to have a small form of respect for the older mortal. As he had watched the strength return in Lord Kage just from the man talking to him. The young one would be fine now. Zion thought as he vanished back to the throne room.

Wedding Ceremony: Avalon Throne Room

The front of the room held the medium size alter, containing the contents needed for the ceremony. Emerald and Sapphire silk hung from the ceiling around it. The golden chalice half filled with red wine. A dagger lay beside it with the symbol of Avalon. The binding rope lay across the alter and two white candles sat with the wedding bands to the side. As roses both red and white in color floated around the whole room.

Soft music was playing in the background as the guest finally took their seats. They all turned when the Royal Family walked into the room. To take their places closer to the right of the alter.

However Chris being the Kings brother was standing beside the alter with Lord Zion beside him. They were the ones to stand by Wyatt during the ceremony. Across from them were Severus Snape and Draco Malfoy, who were chosen to stand with Aiden through the rites. The contrasts between the four were illuminating.

Severus and Draco were in emerald green silk robes lined in silver with Aiden’s family crest of a snake curled around the sword of Gryffindor. Where as Chris and Zion were dressed in Sapphire silk with a white dragon and triquetrous, the crest of Avalon.

The music changed slightly the old form of the wedding march, causing all to turn to the large doors that were opening. Standing in the doorway was King Wyatt dressed in a white silk shirt tucked into black dragon hide trousers. His robes were Sapphire silk lined in small diamonds with the Avalon crest gracing the back. The final touch was the crown that graced his brow. It was white gold with sapphires, emeralds cascading through out. As a medium size, diamond lay in the center. On his left stood Aiden in a white silk shirt tucked into white dragon hide trousers. With robes of white silk, the only color was in the crest that lay on the back. On his brow lay a crown identical to the Kings only smaller.

Wyatt glanced to his left to see Aiden’s emotionless face, but he could tell by his eyes the nervousness his future consort felt. Wyatt knew they needed to address the problem with Kai and Chris and had decided that tomorrow would be that day. First, he needed to get this wedding over. With that, he held out his left arm for Aiden.

Aiden felt ready to run as soon as the doors opened. However, he knew that he could not, Severus had been right he loved Wyatt. In addition, was determined to make this work. So when Wyatt held out his arm. He placed his right hand into the bend of Wyatt’s elbow. Waiting to be lead to the alter.

As they were slowly walking toward it, Aiden wondered whom the one chosen to marry them was. He almost faltered when right before they reached the alter, a beautiful woman materialized behind it. She was standing around 5’6 with long flowing black hair streaked with blonde, bright emerald eyes specked with gold. What caught the most of his attention was she seemed to be glowing. He noticed that many in attendance were just as confused as he was. Glancing at Wyatt, he saw the small smile grace the man’s lips. It was then that Aiden knew Wyatt was aware of who this person was.

Once they were at the alter, Wyatt bowed at his waist and spoke. “It is an honor to have you present, Great Mother.”

Aiden’s eyes widened at the statement, while others gasped. He could even feel that some had fainted. He could not blame them, for standing behind the alter was the Mother of Magic, herself. There to marry Wyatt and himself.

* Honor is mine, my chosen.* came the melodic voice of Magic as she smiled softly. Before her face turned serious as she looked out into the one’s attending the marriage of her childling.

* I am the Mother of Magic, here to bond my chosen with his mate of my choice. Together they will rule all magic, for eternity. Their word will become law in the eyes of all that weld my gift. * Magic stated with finality, before turning back to Wyatt and Aiden with a smile.

*Let us begin. Wyatt Matthew Halliwell, my chosen light the candle to the left.* Magic watched as Wyatt did so before turning to Aiden. *Aiden Kai Salazar Kage, chosen mate and equal light your candle on the right.*

Aiden just as Wyatt before him pointed toward the remaining unlit candle, focusing a small amount of his magic. He as well as others watched as the candlewick burst into flames of silver. Where as Wyatt’s burst into flames of gold.

Magic smiles at the color that burned on the candles. They showed whom was the more dominate of the two in magic. Also showed their equality of power. She had chosen well and was ecstatic with the choice.

* Bonding is not a mark of ownership; it is a mark of equality. Equality in power, love, understanding and faith. Wyatt and Aiden as you stand before me and light your candles; you show the equality of the power you share. The love you hold for each other. Understanding and Faith that when problems arise, together you can fix them.* She then lifted the dagger, handing it to Wyatt.

Magic then instructed Wyatt to place a cut on Aiden’s right hand. When done she had Aiden place two drops into the chalice before Wyatt healed the cut. Then Aiden was to repeat the process with Wyatt.

* The cuts represent that at times you will cause each other pain. However, will still be there to heal the pain that you cause.* Magic then placed the rings into their hands, before continuing. *Wyatt will now recite his vows.*

Wyatt turned to Aiden, softly lifting his left hand while placing the ring onto his ring finger. Reciting his vows while holding the ringed hand. “I, Wyatt vow to you Aiden to love, honor and protect you. To stand beside you not only as your King but also as your husband. If you are hurt I will heal you, if you are sad I will comfort you. When you feel the need for space, I will grant it. If I anger you, I promise to find a way to make amends, no matter how long it may take. But above all I promise to never waver in my love for you.”

*And now you Aiden.*

Aiden took the ring for Wyatt, placing it on his left ring finger. In addition, with a deep breath he recited his vows. “I, Aiden vow to love, honor and protect you. To stand beside you as your equal and husband. I will heal you when others or I harm you. In sadness, I will be the shoulder of comfort. When you are in need of space, I will grant it. If I cause you anger, I will make amends. Even if it takes a lifetime, for I am a stubborn bastard. But through it all I promise to always love you.”

Magic’s eyes were glowing in happiness at the vows being said before her. When they were finished, she lifted the chalice half filled with red wine mixed with the blood of them both. *Take a sip from this chalice mixed with blood as a sign of proof of the promise’s you have made to each other.*

Taking the chalice together, Wyatt and Aiden took the sip as the symbol of their vows together as equals. Then as one placed it back into the hands of Magic.

Magic placed the chalice back onto the alter, before taking up the cord. While she wrapped the cord around both Wyatt and Aiden’s left hands, she spoke. *With this cord, you are bound to each other. No matter what trials you will face in this world you will to do so together. *

Everyone watched as the cord began glowing gold and silver. While Wyatt and Aiden glowed a bright gold and silver. Until the cord vanished into their hands, as they continued to glow. It seemed as though the two were on autopilot as the audience and the four men that stood at the alter watched. As Wyatt pulled Aiden, flush against his chest, lifting the smaller one’s chin. Before placing a kiss on his lips. When they kissed, the whole room was bathed in gold and silver, so bright everyone had to shield their eyes. When the kiss broke the light vanished.

*Heart to thee, Soul to thee, Body to thee, Forever and always, For all eternity, So mote it be. * Magic stated loudly before motioning Wyatt and Aiden to turn to the audience. Then spoke once more. * I, Mother of Magic present to you King Wyatt and King Consort Aiden Halliwell, the Immortal rulers of Magic.* Before disappearing from behind the alter, leaving Wyatt and Aiden to explain their immortality.
